When I teach, I strive to help students learn the most efficient practice methods and to develop a healthy attitude towards learning music. Your progression on the instrument is what will take you to the next step. Either playing solo and chamber have the same core values: beautiful tone production, fine intonation, pure rhythm, expressive playing, knowledge of musical styles, acute listening, excellent ensemble skills. If you study with me, I will help you master these concepts and techniques at your own pace and help you find your own musical voice through playing the piano/viola.
I look forward to working with each of you :)
About Julia
I have been playing the piano for 24 years and the viola for 17 years, and have been classically trained in both. Since I was 18th I have participated in many well-known music festivals and masterclasses, and have performed in Taiwan, China, Singapore, Germany, Canada, the Czech Republic, Austria,

I have a degree in music composition, and have composed pieces for concert performance, film, and publication, as well as hundreds of songs in a variety of genres. I've developed a unique, project-based approach to help the student understand where composition, songwriting etc fit in the modern music industry, and how to develop their own music from idea to paper to final performance/recording.

Book NowI love music and want others to feel the same passion I have for music. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, acting as a universal language that provides a unique way of empathy and connection in our lives.
As a teacher, I like creating a personally tailored repertoire that challenges and explores that specific student's potential and strengths. I value progress and skill-building, but over all, I want my students to be happy and excited about whatever music we're working on!

Why TakeLessons?
Hear From TakeLessons Students
Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

The first time I studied with them it was as a young, impatient, and ignorant singer. They both would of course tell you that I was bright, eager, and new. This is the first important thing I'd like to share with you about Ren and Coren; they base training off a complete appreciation for the power of thought. Learning how to do the work with positive and intentional effort changes the impact the practice has on us. You'll see just as I did when you begin to adopt a different inner language. This way of working has positively affected many other areas of my life. With them it's easy, they REALLY know how to train so if you can just show up they can teach you how to put in the work to take you where you want to go.
Most recently after a stroboscopic test showed that night-fluxing had caused such damage to my instrument and the tissue that surrounded that I could barely speak, much less sing I began studying with Coren for the second time. Months of medication, speech therapy, new diet, doctors, and silence had offered little improvement and when I finally called Coren I'd reached my end, fighting tears to even speak the words to describe my situation. She received me with open arms, offering the comfort only a great teacher can give; she listened, she paused, and then she said calmly "It's okay. We'll fix it". Coren helped me to retrain my instrument, my brain and my vocabulary. Ren addressed the psychology of it all, helping me refocus and ultimately regain the confidence needed to overcome the fear and doubts I was then battling. Together they helped me discover the greatness and fearlessness I had possessed all along.
Ren and Coren's abilities go far beyond your standard talent coaching. They help their students understand how and why we train, allowing US to adopt the necessary skill set and principles needed to grow. They are not only some of the best coaches in Las Vegas, but I believe some of the best in their fields altogether. In a sense they are parents to hundreds of voices and storytellers across the nation, and I am eternally grateful to be one of them. If given the opportunity to study with them, do not pass, anyone who has studied with them will tell you the same."

Lucian it's a great teacher and my Son is very happy with the Piano classes."
