I teach lessons to any grade/age group. I have an extremely open mind to teaching and music in general, so nothing goes out the door in terms of philosophy, however, I've come to realize that some methods work better than others. That said, I tailor my attention and focus as an educator to the needs of student I'm teaching in front of me. I don't consider the student who just walked out of the lesson or the student who is coming in next. I put my all in the student who is in front of me because I believe time is an essential asset to lessons. Also, every case is so uniquely different in terms of students and I take a good amount of time to calibrate the learning style of every student.
About Matt
I am passionate instructor who is fueled by seeing success in others. No other feeling is more fulfilling then seeing the growth of another human. I have been teaching private lessons in my own studio for about 8 years now. I've taught 7 marching bands and currently writing music for some with an

I vary students’ lessons with their interests and find the best teaching methods and practices to fit their needs. Because I believe everyone is different and unique. No one can stop you on learning anything but yourself. Therefore, I want students to focus on every lesson and have to practice outside of class which are required and important. Playing music is fun but learning takes time!!

I have been playing the saxophone for about 17 years now, starting from when I was in 5th grade. I have gotten to play throughout middle and high school, as well as college. I've played alto, tenor, and bari sax, but I prefer to teach alto saxophone. Music, and the saxophone specifically, is a great passion of mine, and I would like to help instill that passion in others. Although I am new to teaching, I have a deep understanding of how a saxophone works and how to teach musical understanding.
About Shane
I'm passionate about music and about sharing my knowledge with others. Everyone can benefit from music and learning an instrument. Specifically, the saxophone is easy to begin learning, and can be very technical at advanced levels. I am still learning new things almost every time I play.
