Nathaniel taught my son who was a beginning player on the bass guitar. I couldn't be more please with the results. Nathaniel did all the normal teacher stuff--had a plan, had prepared goals, gave music homework, was timely--but on top of that he had a friendly, inviting personality that invited my son to want to spend time learning music. It was Nathaniel's happy, inviting attitude that really made things click during my son's lessons and I'm thankful he was willing to take him in as one of his students.

About Charis

I have a B.S. in Music Education. I have worked with several disabled students patiently guiding them, finding creative ways to make music accessible to them. I believe it is not about me or the parent, but the student. I work with children of all ages believing that we can find a way that works so that in a few months you see results. Anyone can learn to sing or play but not everyone is going to enjoy it without the right approach and teacher. I don't want to hear a student say that the teacher didn't listen to me, they wouldn't entertain my ideas.
In my studio I have a studio piano and a keyboard. We have monitors and microphones and the ability to record. I encourage the composer to the pop music player, from the classical artist to the Broadway singer.
Currently, I have several students that compose their own music, helpi

ng one of those students to become a copyrighted artist.

*** Lesson Details ***
For the child I have had the most success with the Bastien method and for the Adult pianist I usually use Alfred's method books. I constantly have access to musicnotes.com to download any current or older hit in addition to the method books. I want you to learn to note read and then to play by chords. I never want the student to lose their creative, artistic ability. They should feel welcome at all times to add input to the lesson. I want you to have fun learning and find the ability in you to make music. Please contact Takelessons if a time does not suit your availability. I may be able to work something out.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I own my music studio w/ piano, seating for parents. I have vocal equipment, microphones and monitors

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will have a music bingo game with me and whatever else is needed to supplement the lesson

*** Specialties ***
I teach any style and method that is needed, but prefer Bastien, feeling it doesn't drag the information out. I teach note reading and playing classical music to playing by chords and learning how to split the voicing

About Katherine (Kay)

Taught 41 years as a band director
Principal Trumpet with Beloit/Janesville Symphony

I like to teach in a style that is functional and interesting. Students will be doing a variety of activities at each lesson. The focus will be determined by their needs.

As students become more proficient in music their enjoyment of musical activities will increase. The success of completing various levels of musical achievement will carry over to other lifetime skills.

*** Lesson Details ***
I will work with each student depending on their individual needs. We will strive to produce steady improvement in player proficiency.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Student should have a music stand and instrument

*** Specialties ***
I like to teach based on the individual. I have taught group and private lessons. The materials I use are varied, with an emphas

is on scales, theory, and also some duet playing. I also like to incorporate some music history into each lesson. I feel that each student needs to work from known to the new areas. I often use supplementary materials (solos or small ensembles) to reinforce my teaching.

Kay is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. She is very encouraging and never makes me feel dumb when I hit a sour note. (As a beginning beginner, that happens a lot!) I am amazed at how much I have learned in such a short time!

About Hissael

I have been teaching and tutoring students for 6 years now. I teach math and guitar. The thing I love most about my teaching isn't the end result of a student's passing report card or a student's accomplishment of learning a difficult musical piece. It is the effort that takes place between the student and the tasks, along with guidance. The student's ability to think and approach the tasks, whether it is music, math, or English in a way that fully immerses the student's creativity and understanding is at the foundation of my teaching. I can help your child pass his/her tests, I can help them read music and play their favorite songs, but, I encourage them to overcome the challenges that they face when they are on their own in the classroom and practice room. This is the curriculum I teach.

About Nick

Nick Rich
IG: @nickrich777
Nick Rich started playing drums almost before he could walk. The only grandchild of music icon, Buddy Rich, he was given his first set drum set from Remo Belli (REMO), at the age of eighteen months old, and played his first gig at 2 years old on his grandfather's lap at Disneyland.
From that moment on, Nick has been an unstoppable force in the drumming world.
Nick is sponsored by the greatest drum companies in the world. Sabian cymbals, Vic Firth drumsticks, Humes and Berg cases, Remo drum heads and Dream Earz in ear monitors. At age 14, Nick began his studies with the alternative drumming icon, Travis Barker (Blink 182, The Transplants, Plus 44) who developed Nick's rudimental and marching chops. At 17, Nick studied with the fusion great, Dave Weckl (Chick Corea, The Dave Weckl Band), who completely changed hi

s approach to the drums.
Dave showed Nick a new approach to the drums, from the grip, to the comfortable setup of the drum set.
Today, Nick is a teacher, studio musician, and touring drummer, who has developed his own style and sound in a way that is unmistakable when hearing him.
Career Highlights
Nick played the opening night gala at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, NV, performing with actor/singer Hugh Jackman and percussionist Daniel De Los Reyes' (Drum Jungle, The Zac Brown Band) to a crowd of guests featuring former President Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr. and Quincy Jones, to name a few.
Toured and performed with Ray J, Otherwise, Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate, Jared Rodgers, The Buddy Rich Big Band All Stars.
Nick performed on the Buddy Rich 2008 Memorial Scholarship Concert, along side drumming icons Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, Tommy Igoe, John Blackwell, Peter Erskine, and Chad Smith. The event was filmed and released on DVD, for Drumchannel.
Nick hosted his own live drum show on Drumchannel.com. Drumchannel is owned and operated by Don Lombardi, C.E.O of DW Drums, Pacific Drums and Percussion, and Gon Bop Percussion. Nick was a featured artist at The Cape Breton International Drum Festival, was a featured artist at The 12th Annual Hollywood Drum Show, alongside drumming icons, Todd Sucherman, Bryan Hitt, Cindy Blackman, Joe LaBarbera, and Bernie Dresel.

"Shannon is just the best piano teacher ever! She is always professional, always prompt, and always fun and encouraging for my sons (age 8). It might seem
like teaching twins would be easy; just give the same lesson twice! But Shannon immediately noticed the differences in their learning styles and has tailored each lesson to meet each one of them at their own learning level. We have concerts and homework. We have great lessons where they sailed though and got gold stars and lessons where we learned that more practice is needed. Shannon makes it fun for them, they are always excited to see her. But she insists on attention and pushes them to learn. I would recommend Shannon to anyone wanting to learn to play the piano!!"
