About Leni
BA in Music, composition and conducting from Hunter College (City University of New York)
Diploma from the Conservatoire de Fontainebleau, France
Studied with Louise Talma, Jacques Louis Monod, Nadia Boulanger

Lessons are about learning to make music, not endless scales and arpeggios which so often lead to pain and injury. Tone production, sight reading, and age appropriate theory and interpretation are strong elements from the beginning.

An overwhelming percentage of young, enthusiastic and talented children are discouraged early and give up the piano because they do not make rapid progress and therefore do not enjoy their lessons. Music is one of life's great joys. It should be fun. For the intermediate, and even the advanced, student, it is critical that much more attention be paid to the musicality of the playing and the u
nderstanding of the music. This leads to more beautiful playing and greater enjoyment.

*** Specialties ***
Concentration on interpretation, Theory, Solfege and ear training, and non injurious piano technique.

Leni is an incredible instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable and yet never comes across as condescending or arragant.
He is helpful and encouraging and makes learning to play fun.
The music that he selects is challenging without being overwhelming and he is fine with moving on to something else if you just plain don't like a piece.
He is a very popular instructor and I feel fortunate that I have found a space in his schedule !

I can honestly say that Leni is one of the most professional and intelligent music instructors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have a background in music (low brass) from the 6th grade all the way through college. While I no longer play any brass instruments, I am currently taking drum lessons, and felt that now would also be the best time to try my hand (no pun intended) at piano. I am very happy with the lessons that Leni gave, however, I eventually came to the realization that the piano would be too much of a time constraint for me. I was not 100% committed to the piano due to working an 8-5 job every day, as well as taking the drum lessons I was already taking prior to starting piano. Also, it didn't help that I did not have a piano to practice with. With that being said, if I ever find myself with the time/capability to commit myself to the piano the way I wanted to, then I will be contacting Leni for more lessons. There are many piano teachers out there, but if you want to learn the CORRECT way so that you will not hurt your hands/fingers, then Leni is the absolute best choice. Thanks for everything Leni!

About Heidi
My name is Heidi P. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in music, with an emphasis in vocal performance. I love teaching my students! We always have a fun time singing and reaching goals. I have a great passion for singing opera and classical music, but I teach vocal techniques that can be applied to any genre of music. I have been apart of many operas and performances including the roles of Maddalena in the opera Rigoletto, GrimGerde in Ride of the Valkyries, Carmen in the Opera Carmen, and Chorus in Suor Angelica, and La Traviata. I have also been in the Boise Music Week Productions of Hello Dolly, Beauty and the Beast, and Brigadoon. I let my students choose what type of music they would like to sing, I don't want to force my own style on my students because I want them to enjoy what they sing! Voice lessons are not a place for me to
judge you. Is it a place for us to work together to make your voice the best it can be. Singing is a beautiful art form that is challenging but should also be fun! As I teach, I will give insight to breathing techniques, posture, and vocal anatomy in order to better understand how the voice works! Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have, I am here to help. Hope to hear from you soon!

About reut
Hello there!

I am a trombonist and teacher, with many years of experience teaching Hebrew as well as music.

As a music teacher I have worked with children starting from private lessons to young children beginning to learn, up to master classes in universities worldwide. I love teaching, and I feel confident teaching trombone and trumpet up to advanced level. For piano, I would prefer to stay with beginners and young ones only :) - but I promise you they will have a wonderful experience (and yes, I do have 8 years of piano studies under my belt).

As a Hebrew teacher, I teach both Hebrew reading and pronunciation and modern conversational Hebrew. My professional experience includes teaching at Golda Och Academy in West Orange, B'nai Abraham in Livingston, Central Synagogue in Manhattan and more, as well as many private lessons. In
the schools I provided classroom instruction, private and group tutoring and adult education as well as private instruction for the faculty.

William is probably one of the only players that I've seen understand the ins and outs of trumpet playing at his age. He really helped me out early into high school and has continued to inspire me in trumpet playing. While taking a lesson he evaluates every aspect of playing and gives lots of instruction that applies to much of trumpet playing. The inspiration he gives is the most essential trait he shares with students. William is a positive influence and an amazing teacher!

I was hesitant at first to take lessons from someone I found online, but I'm extremely glad I chose William. Not only is he a fantastic player and knowledgeable teacher, but he is easy going and an overall great person to be around. He takes the lessons at a comfortable pace, and will always be honest about your playing. I would recommend him to everyone in the area, after only a few lessons, I can already see a difference in my playing, I've never been more excited to pick up my horn. If you're considering finding a teacher online, he would be a great choice, no matter the skill level.

About Maggie
I am a professional singer, pianist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors of Music, specifically piano.

Piano and voice students can expect to improve week to week. I can help any student to play/sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano and contemporary keyboard for 20+ years. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

As a professional recording artist I frequently take trips to LA and Nashville for co-writing, recording, and taking meetings. I have written with well-known writers. I love to mentor students who want to become effective,
dynamic songwriters.

My personal passion is contemporary music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

About Geordie
My skill-set and industry expertise are comprehensive and up-to-date. I make it my top priority to see that my instrumental performance and pedagogy is executed well and
efficiently. My career has also seen its share of achievements; while working as a Navy Musician, I became one of only 25 Bandmasters/commissioned officers in the Navy Music Program Navy-wide. Furthermore, my concurrent work throughout my career as a private, freelance musician has yielded two recordings as a leader, and my becoming an Endorsement Artist for Heritage Guitars in 2001.

During my time working at the Armed Forces School of Music, as Jazz Guitar, Jazz Improvisation, Jazz Combo, and Jazz Big Band instructor, I learned a great deal and achieved a number of goals. One of my highest achievements was earning the Master
Training Specialist designation for excep
tional performance as an instructor in a record 4 months. This typically takes 1-3 years to attain. Earning this designation led to my earning 5 Meritorious Commendation Medals and 4 Navy Achievement Medals to date,
which in turn led to the best trained Navy Musicians graduating from the Armed Forces School of Music during my tenure. In my recent capacity as Director, Navy Band Great Lakes, I was able to significantly expand my skill-set.

My responsibilities for programming music and managing travel for a concert band, parade band, ceremonial band, Dixieland band, jazz ensemble, jazz combo, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, and a blues band caused me to develop my musical knowledge across all genres, as well as my ability to manage large sums of money. I've
been stationed here since 2014, and I work regularly as a jazz guitar leader and sideman on the Chicago gig scene. Upon my retirement from the Navy Music Program in 2018, I will remain in Chicago and devote the full entirety of my efforts to performance, pedagogy, and recording as a private citizen-musician.

I have held a SECRET clearance for 21+ years. That is the most intense background check anyone can get, which is why I passed on the Take Lessons background check.

Currently available for tours, lessons, recording, and live performances.

Dan is an amazing teacher. When I came to him first, I barely knew how to hold a guitar. He took me under his wings, and almost ten months later, he transformed my playing where I now actually sound like I'm playing a real song.

He is extremely talented, very gifted, and really really good at teaching. He excels in breaking down a concept, or helping me figure out the right way to play a chord, or a lick. He has also proved that he has an amazing ear, helping me learn a song (that he's never heard before), by breaking it down, and de-constructing it.

I am very happy with him being my teacher, and I look forward to learning a lot from him.
