I've played dulcimer for many years, mainly in the traditional mountain style of melody plus drone strings. Dulcimer is a wonderful instrument to use to accompany yourself while you sing or just to enjoy playing the old tunes that you loved as a child. It's truly an American instrument!

I began playing violin at the age of 5 at school in Australia and completed my Bachelor and Masters degree at the Conservatorio di Musica in Verona, Italy. During my studies I've had the possibility to learn from some great international Maestros and learn different styles of playing and teaching. My teaching method is flexible depending on the needs and personality of the student as I believe one of the most important parts of learning any instrument is to enjoy the lesson so as the student is looking forward to the next.

I am committed to working hard for my students and remaining responsive to their musical tastes and interests. I also work to find out what learning style and senses my students learn most easily with (visual,
kinesthetic, auditory etc.) and adapt my teaching plan to meet the individual needs of each student. I use a variety of creative musical activities and techniques to engender an engaged learning in each of my students.
I have an established private teaching practice and teaching studio. I have extensive experience in private piano, vocal tuition and teaching general musicianship, music theory, singing and instrumental teaching in schools, as well as 10 years experience as a vocal performer in the UK.
I am passionate about figuring out the individual learning style of each of my students and enjoy being a part of their musical progress and journey, helping them to find their

Ms. Lorna is a very good teacher. She is a nice, great, professional, and relatable teacher. She brings out skills in students who students themselves didn't know they had. Since I started taking lessons with her she has taught me a lot, she has brought out skills that i didn't know i could do with my voice, and it's very easy to learn with. I have learned and am still learning a lot from her.Thank you Ms. Lorna for being such a great teacher.
Love, Valerie :)"
