About Alexandra
I am a classically trained violinist/violist and have been playing since age 8. I have played in many orchestras and solo concerts. I also entertain for many weddings, parties, and events. I love playing in small chambers groups. I currently am a public school music teacher for grades Prek through fifth grade and have so much fun with my current students. I also play events whenever given the chance, most weekends.

My home studio is very relaxed yet I feel that good technique is important. I teach my young students the necessary traditional violin techniques needed to become a successful musician. I do the same for my adult students yet I give my adult students a bit more liberties in what they are looking to accomplish on the violin, weather it be a life long dream to play, for relaxation, or to be an accomplished player.

My main style of study is classical but I am also able to teach any style you wish from rock to pop to country to fiddle. I look forward to teaching and meeting you.

*** Specialties ***
Traditional classical method.

About Chris
Hi! My name is Chris. I am a violinist who has been playing since the 4th grade and teaching for over 10 years. I love music in all of its forms. Whether it's works of the great classical masters or plugging my electric violin into a new effects pedal, you can bet I'm loving every minute of it. But nothing is more rewarding to me than passing on that love of music to others!

I attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, where I studied music education under renowned conductor and violinist, Dr. Arthur Prano. Since that time, I've played in traditional classical symphonies, broadway musical pit ensembles, and even fronted an original music rock band named Hotel Hurry.

Book lessons with me today! I can't wait to get started!

I can assist you with everything from picking up the instrument for the first
time to improving upon what you already know. I believe every student should be approached in a unique way that works best with their personal style. I also believe that learning to play the violin doesn't have to be restricted to only classical music. Violins sound great in almost every genre of music, so why not use a great variety of music to learn with?

I employ methods from Suzuki and All For Strings in my lessons, in addition to other sources. I think what sets me apart from many other teachers is my flexibility. I understand that the same approach doesn't work equally for every student. Every student is different and learns differently. Adapting my teaching style to the student's unique needs is essential to their enjoyment and success!

Chris is awesome!

Chris provides really good feed back during every lesson. He lets me know what I need to work on and tips for improving and at the same time encourages me by telling me what I am doing well in. He also is very flexible and understanding. He was even kind enough to make sheet music for me for a piece of music that I really enjoy. Thanks Chris!

I have attended three lessons and so far I'm very happy. Chris is a kind gentleman, very helpful and patient. He provides clear instructions and looks for simple ways to explain techniques and related aspects. I'm looking forward to learn and practice as much as I can, counting on his support and guidelines.

Great Instructor, Highly Recommend

I have no background in music and am learning the violin as my first instrument. I picked Chris based on his profile and he is an swesome teacher. Everything I could possibly need in a teacher: clear explanations, constructive feedback, patience, flexibility, and a simple approach to teaching what I am appreciating is a very difficult instrument to master. Chris makes each lesson very fun and we laugh alot. He's sensitive to my trouble areas and encourages me to "stretch" to reach the challenge for the day. Imagine my pleasure when we were doing "duets" on lesson 2. I'm looking forwaard to a long, rewarding working relationship with Chris. 2 thumbs up!!

Music is a transcendental experience that has existed since the beginning of time itself. Classical music is the study of timeless masterworks written over the past 400 years. Through our study, we gain direct insight into the great thoughts, ideas, and histories of cultures, peoples, and movements. As a teacher, I am honored to introduce each of my wonderful students to the life-long pursuit of music creation.

I'm a prize winning pianist and a music enthusiast. I started piano at age 5 and started winning competitions at age 10. I've won prizes at the local and national level. Ultimately though, I'm just passionate about all-things piano and would love to share my passion with you.

My background is in the Taubman technique, having spent 12 years working with one of Dorothy Taubman's personal students. However, whatever your technic
al background, I'm excited to help you find more freedom, power, and passion in your playing!

Teaching & Coaching: Pop/R&B/Rock/Jazz/Club-Dance-House/Funk/Blues/Caribbean/Gospel

BEGINNERS: 1st Meeting Walk in, Walk Out Singing/playing...........Learn to sing very quickly correctly for a career or just for your own pleasure~!
INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED: Learn to really saaaaaang very quickly, going beyond your limitations~!
GETTING READY TO LAY DOWN A PRO VOCAL TRACK????......This is the kind of vocal coach you need with you in the studio to keep you on your 'A Game'. You can't always depend on the Producer & certainly not an engineer to bring that out of you~!
AUDITIONING FOR TV SINGING COMPETITIONS???........I give you what you'll need to go against the stiff competition.

....Learn to tell a 'lyrical story' with your voice & the song through breathing and phrasing.
....Singers who dance - learn to not lose your breath whi
le dancing & to use movement as a means of support for your vocal tricks (some of you have gone to schools learning music, dance & even acting, but do not know how to put these skills together in a competitive package. I show you how).
....Learn to go from chest voice to a strong head voice smoothly.
....Learn to sing & play an instrument together & not look awkward
....Learn to use your 'ear' to inspire you to take chances with your voice/instrument that work in the song while staying in pitch.
....Learn to sing or play various styles effectively & how to utilize those styles for your own musical growth.
....Working singers.....Learn to pace yourself & sing 3-5 nights a week without losing your voice.
....Learn to approach & eventually acquire the "riffing" ability of the top Gospel/R&B/Soul/Pop artists & be able to add these vocalese techniques to your style.

About Jamahl
Hi! I'm Jamahl.

I've been the Music Director at St. Paul AME Church in St. Augustine, FL since 2012, but I don't limit my lessons to Gospel and Contemporary Christian music. I, myself, regularly play/compose Pop, Rock, Indie, Jazz, etc. My years of varied experience have given me a firm grasp on how music, all music, works.

Through my own personal passion for music, I developed a passion for teaching it as well. I take a more practical approach to playing, focusing first on what/how to play and then how to think about it.

While I can play and teach some advanced music and have some formal training, I have no music degree. If you would like to learn to sight-read the sheet music for intermediate-to-difficult classical pieces, I encourage you to find teachers who better fit your needs. I can, however, teach you to play music "by ear"(b
y listening to it). This is how I learn most music and it is, in my opinion, the most enjoyable way to play.

If your interested in a customized approach to Improving your skills or even if you've never touched an instrument before, I'm excited to help you get to wherever it is you want to be as a musician. Feel free to contact me and we'll get started!

I loved having Jamahl as a teacher! I have had several music teachers over the years and all of them taught music in the same way, completely ignoring my personal learning style. I finally found someone who designed each lesson to meet my needs and made understanding how to apply what I'm learning about music theory directly into playing. He is very patient, flexible and encouraging. I would recommend him to anyone I know looking to learn.

About Ritchy
I am a professional multi-instrumentalist part of a band that has toured on both coasts and performs regularly on the east coast. I also write journals, poems, lyrics and other creative writing on a regular basis for commission. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a bachelors in Music focusing on Saxophone and Piano as my primary instruments.

The years I spent studying and immersing myself in the world of music theory helped me create a very passionate connection to music. Saxophone is the love of my life and has created so much joy over the years just from practice and performance. Knowing firsthand the fun and personal connection someone can make with music, this is what I focus on in any lesson I teach. Technique and scales are merely avenues to playing music that you connect with. While I do know all the cou
ntless fundamentals that lead to a strong musician, my goal with any lesson I teach is to never lose sight of the connection to the craft.

I would also go on to say that this principle doesn't merely stop at music. It extends into my creative writing and especially my cooking as well. I grew up surrounded by the sounds and smells of traditional Caribbean cuisine at home with my mom. She is my largest influence as a cook and as a creator. My mother taught me to be focused and purposeful in my habits at the stove and in life. She always said that Cooking that comes from the heart beats any recipe book and I believe her. Whether it be the simple ramen dish or five star cuisine, I always aim to teach how to cook stress-free and passionate. Even if you don't choose me as your teacher, I sincerely hope my words here can be carried into whatever you do. Thank you for stopping by and I hope we can create something special together. :)

The term a cappella is an Italian term that means "in the manner of the church" or "in the manner of the chapel," referring to the type of music that is sung without the use of musical instruments.
