We only just started with Marvin, but he is professional and patient with my son. My first impression of Marvin is very good and he is very soft spoken and friendly! In just two lessons, I have already seen progress and we are now looking forward to working weekly with him. My son choose Marvin as his teacher, after reading about him on the web-site and it was his choice to continue lessons. He is very excited about learning more and playing guitar with Marvin! In fact, we are adding an extra supplemental session between lessons. THANK YOU MARVIN!!

I would definitely recommend Marvin as a music coach/instructor to anyone. He has vast set of knowledge when it comes to music and its theory and he continues to inspire me as I learn more about music. He incorporates not only his knowledge but also his experiences when teaching guitar and music in general. He is open to new ideas on how to make learning as fun and as interesting as possible, for instance, he starts off with what you know and what you want to know more, in order to create a lesson plan specifically designed to your style and passion.

Marvin has helped me build a strong foundation in music, and I believe that he can also help you accomplish the same goal!

Thomas A. Burtonsville, MD

About Thomas

I have been playing drums for 45 years. The last 16 years I have been playing and performing professionally with my band Black Widow USA. We have toured the US several times in support of our two internationally released CDs. For about 30 years of my time behind a drum set I had given drum lessons on and off. But because of my super strong passion for the drums and my desire to share my knowledge of the instrument I decided to start teaching on a more regular basis. Although I can teach most styles of drumming I have been a die hard rock and roller most of my life. With my main influences on the instrument being Carmine Appice, Don Brewer from Grand Funk, John Bonham, Ian Paice from Deep Purple and for double bass Tommy Aldridge. So I really specialize in the old rock and roll, classic ...

We decided to get our son involved in something that doesn't require a gaming controller and he chose drums. We picked Tom out of the gate and I told my son that if he didn't mesh with him that we could find another instructor. After my son got over his initial shyness and intimidation, he warmed up to Tom and now looks forward to his lesson days. Tom ALWAYS is encouraging and supportive which has helped build my son's confidence and stoke his passion for something other than XBox. He has been flexible with us when needed. I would highly recommend Tom as an instructor.

Tom is a great drum instructor. He took an active interest in the music I liked during the very first interest, and when I came back for the second lesson he had taken the time to listen to all of the bands that I mentioned. I wasn't really expecting that and it showed me that he really wanted to tailor the lessons towards what I listen to.

He teaches out of his house, with two drum sets and full electronics setup for other things as well. It really helps when both you and him can play something at the same time, compared to other places where there is only one drum set available.

I would highly recommend Tom to anyone interested in learning how to play the drums.

Outstanding artist and teacher!

Lilly is a thoughtful instructor. I loved how she took time to understand my child's level of instruction and ways to learn best. I was particularly impressed with her follow through. She took time during a non scheduled day to e-mail and ask if my student had any questions. These things inspire my daughter to practice and is helping her to love the piano. Thank you Lilly!

Yulia is a very professional, capable, and patient teacher, who produces results. She has a deep knowledge of the fundamentals of singing and what is takes to build a solid foundation of a vocal technique. Furthermore, she is able to demonstrate and reinforce important points with her own voice and that helps a lot. I definitely recommend Yulia as a voice teacher!!

Learning to Read Music: An Introduction for Singers
Learning to read music can be a daunting task for beginner singers! Here, Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R. shows you how to get started...   Not to point out the obvious, but as singers, we don’t have keys on our instrument. We don’t have buttons that emit the same pitch every time they are pressed. Most of us don’t have perfect pitch, either. This makes learning to read music quite different for singers than for other musicians. Not only do singers deal with learning how
3 Reasons Why Piano Players Should Also Learn the Organ
There are many reasons why a music student may find themselves learning to play piano on a keyboard rather than on a baby grand: cost, space, or simply lack of access, for example. Versatility on a range of keyboard instruments is also an extremely useful string for any pianist to have to their bow, and can lead to greater practice and public performance opportunities, and even excellent opportunities to earn a little money on the side. The organ, although not the most prevalent or popular musi
