About Jean
Jean is patient, fun, and imaginative. She also loves passing on the gift of music to anyone wanting to learn!

Jean's philosophy of teaching is; 1. Taking on any new task requires time and discipline. Mistakes are a part of the learning process. The biggest challenges reap the greatest rewards.

2. The student and teacher are a team! The teacher and student will work together to learn together. As the student is learning new skills and techniques, the teacher is learning all about the student and their specialized needs.

Jean's Education:

Jean is a graduate of Bradford College in Bradford MA with a Bachelors Degree in Creative Arts. Her major instrument is piano.

Jean's Experience:

Jean began playing piano at the age of 5. Taking a break from lessons for a few years as a teenager and picking it up again in College.

Jean has been teaching piano for 10 years.

The learning environment will be laid back and fun, with the student and teacher setting goals together, and reasonable expectations will be held for both the student and teacher.

Students will have the opportunity to learn to play music by composers such as Mozart and Bach. Heading into my first class with Tim, I had almost no musical experience (at least for the last 15+ years). In a very casual way, he was able to get a sense of where I was and where he should start with my instruction.

I was very reluctant to take lessons at first, but my wife got me started with Tim and it was really worth it. He was accommodating to my relatively slow speed of learning and easily adapted to my own musical preferences and interests.

His studio is a great space and is located within a really cool, historic building. The sound is fantastic and it's a comfortable space to practice in.

I highly recommend Tim for lessons - especially for adults who may not be able to dedicate hours a day to practicing. I took lessons weekly for three months and I got a great foundation for practicing. Once my life settles down a little, I definitely hope to go back.

I provide private music lessons for guitar, bass, saxophone, music theory and songwriting. I have been teaching for over seven years. I combine my passion for teaching and music business expertise to help students achieve their goals. There are many lesson options available including at my studio in Bristol CT, online or at your location. I work with all of my students and parents to create customized teaching plans based on students learning styles, interests and goals. I am available to students outside of lesson time 7 days a week. I provide performance, writing, purchase and music recommendations and take an active interest in each of my students learning. Lesson times are exactly as stated. I allow extra time in between students so as to ensure no overlaps and everyone gets their allotted time.

I try to develop versatility and wel
l rounded musicians no matter the skill or age level. Each student attends lessons for different reasons.Students are encouraged to explore all genres of music and I believe in exposing them to a wide variety of styles and methods. I also encourage students, if interested to write original material. There are no restrictions when it comes to music and I incorporate both old school and contemporary methods into my teaching. Students will learn first hand how what they are learning applies to the real world, including song performance from their favorite artists. I strongly encourage all students to develop an individual personal sense of style when it comes to music performance.

Some teachers teach you how to read black dots on a page. Others help you to make music beyond the printed page. Having studied with Mark for a number of years, I can attest to Mark's ability not only as a fabulous musician himself, but as a teacher who helps others go "off the page" to discover the heart of musical expression. He is a gift!

Mark is a very gifted teacher, patient and eager to share his vast knowledge in a natural way that students respond well to. Takes time to explain subject material and reasons for teaching methods. He goes the extra mile and his passion for music is contagious and evident. He is an excellent teacher and we are lucky to have him.

Mark is an excellent educator whose instruction was always appropriate for my level, yet pushed me to greater heights. He provided me with the tools I needed to continue to develop as a musician and to build up my skills quickly. A loving, caring person, Mark cares about the whole student and I count the time spent with him as some of the best investment I've made in myself.

About Deven
Hey there!
I'm a self-taught Lead/Rhythm guitarist with a local band of 5. I've played guitar almost 10 years now, and love helping people both new to guitar and veterans alike in any way I can. I love helping others play and appreciate the music they've always dreamed of playing themselves. I know how hard it can be to get started on guitar, as it can be quite discouraging if not approached right. I've been there. But I made it! I want to help you too! I can teach many different styles of song and play style. I personally love playing classic rock, hard rock, metal, punk, acoustic, blues, etc. but I've always tried to appreciate many of the different genres we here all over the place today. I also believe starting with something were passionate about can be the kickstart we need to take our music to the next level. Fun, motivating, and
informative, all in one teacher. Look forward to talking with you about guitar! Please, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! 😉😋 Thanks!
