About Belinda
I have been teaching voice and piano since 2010, and I love sharing music with others! I am available for in-home and online lessons, and I teach a variety of styles for both voice and piano. My higher education studies are in vocal performance with a focus on classical music, opera, and art song, but a lot of my vocal students work on musical theater and popular repertoire. My piano students also play a variety of styles, and I teach many to play and sing at the same time!

I treat every student with respect, and I truly enjoy getting to know them as well. I like to have fun in my lessons, but I also have years of training and musical knowledge to impart to my students. I am well versed in vocal pedagogy (the science of vocal production), and I use this education to promote healthy singing! I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Perf
ormance at Boston University and my Master of Music and Doctorate of Music in Vocal Performance at Arizona State University.

My 12 year old daughter is loving her singing lessons with Belinda. She is always so excited to go to her lessons and always leaves with a smile on her face. My daughter is wanting to do some musical theater auditions in the near future, and Belinda is helping her find and prepare for the auditions. We are so glad we found Belinda!

About Cynthia
I received my Bachelor of Music degree, with a specialization in vocal performance, in 2010. In the past 10 years, I've toured Europe with various ensembles, recorded both solo and choral work, and taught throughout Los Angeles. I have also served as cantor and guest conductor at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

My training has been focused on classical and operatic repertoire, but I have mostly taught non-classical voice students. Regardless of a student's age or goals, the overarching theme in my lessons is using your voice efficiently. And of course being a good musician.

That being said, I'm not a snob about music choices. As a teacher, I'd rather you sing what you love and sing it well than sing an "assignment." I'm not here to impose anything on anyone. I just want you to love music as much as I do.

*** Lesson Detail
s ***
I will tailor my lessons to each student, depending on their age, level of experience, and goals. Ultimately, I want all of my students to gain a deeper appreciation for singing, regardless of what they intend on doing with it. I'm very patient and understanding and I try to keep my lessons fun!

Some of the aspects that I cover with almost all of my students are: vocal and performance technique, intonation, diction, genre-specific styles, breathing, relaxation technique, and basic music theory (where applicable). Another important aspect: learning to learn music on your own (if you can't already).

A voice lesson for beginning and intermediate students would most likely go as follows: (1) breathing exercises, (2) warm-up, (3) brief review of elements discussed in previous week's lesson, (4) sing through repertoire (while paying attention to technique, diction, etc.), (5) begin working on new repertoire, to be practiced for next week's lesson (rhythm, diction, melody, etc.)

We can take lessons as fast/slow as is comfortable for you. This is just an example of what a typical lesson would be like for someone interested in having some solid repertoire under their belt.

*** Specialties ***
Classical voice, opera, foreign language

About Nils
Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, age 5 or 500, in my experience, with just a little bit of practice each day anyone can learn to play guitar.
Maybe your goal is to simply learn to play your favorite songs or maybe you want to learn to write your own music, improvise, or perform live.
Like all good things in life, there are no shortcuts, and learning the guitar takes time and effort, but in return you get the ability to express yourself through music, which is one of the most rewarding skills anyone could ever learn, at any age and in any situation.

My main focus is on helping you reach the point where you are actually playing music, instead of endlessly going over exercises or theory.
I want you to be able to play music you would enjoy listening to, because this is when you will start to truly appreciate your accomplish
ment, and progress will start to come much easier.

Together we will discuss your personalized course, based on your goals and situation, and along the way I will provide materials/tools and a summary or a recording of each lesson as needed, for you to take home to work on.
Different aspects we'll discuss are technique, chart/sight reading, music theory, ear training, soloing/improvisation, and developing a strong sense of rhythm, most of which will be done through simply learning to play the songs you like.
Besides the basics, it's very important to learn how to independently keep challenging yourself, learn from your mistakes and continue growing musically, simply using your ears and whatever information you can find online or anywhere else, even without my help.

Besides teaching you how to play I can also help with finding the right instrument and equipment, provide advice on guitar/amplifier maintenance and setups, as well as recording techniques, or any other practical matters related to playing music/guitar.

Lessons can be either at your residence or at my fully equipped home studio in the Hollywood Hills/Studio City area. In a beautiful and private environment, with plenty of (free/safe) street parking available.
Lessons via Skype are obviously available as well.
I look forward to hearing from you!

I had several great lessons with Nils. He helped me break through a plateau I was on in terms of modal soloing and also with recognizing chord shapes and how the lie underneath scale structures. He was responsive, knowledgeable and quick to grasp what I, as an already experienced player, needed to improve. Highly recommended!

About Pheobe
Hello there, and thank you so much for considering me as a potential teacher! I truly love teaching and so enjoy connecting with each and every student.

I have been playing the harp since age six. While I am primarily a classical pedal harpist, I also love to play jazz, pop, folk, and contemporary music. I love teaching all of these styles as well, and students may choose to play either the lever harp or the pedal harp.

I have been blessed to have studied with some incredible teachers. Studying Salzedo Technique with Cynthia Otis, herself a former student of Carlos Salzedo, allowed me to develop strong and stable harp technique. I went on to study both jazz and classical with Felice Pomeranz at Berklee College of Music. From these experiences, I have developed a style of teaching that focuses strongly on technique while incorpora
ting styles and pieces tailored to each individual student’s musical taste and goals.

Currently, I am completing a certification in Clinical Musicianship. I am thrilled to be learning about the endless healing components of harp music. I believe that music should be a source of joy, a belief that is ever present throughout her lessons.

My hope is that my students will experience the fun and fulfilling benefits of playing music as I have. Playing bass is for sure the coolest, funnest thing I do. I have been jamming, gigging and teaching for over 30 years. I still play everyday. My teaching style is laid back, fun and encouraging. I teach 4 and 5 string, music terminology, fingers/pick/slap technique, light theory and how all these aspects translate to establishing good groove and feeling.

About Enjelique
I am classically trained pianist, singer-songwriter, producer, and composer from Miami Fl. Growing up as the only female of color in most piano competitions and master classes, I strive to be a role model and example to my peers. I am the creator and current teacher at Angel City Piano Conservatory!

At age 7 I was identified as a child prodigy and certified gifted with an IQ in the 98th percentile. I was discovered and trained with a Russian child prodigy teacher and was chosen to study with Harvard and Jullliard trained pianist and Founder of Ocala Piano Conservatory: Leslie Hammes. "Enjelique is really quite gifted... she has an excellent ear and natural touch." - Hammes.

I received superior ratings for original compositions and was the Florida State winner for Piano Solo at the Florida Federation of Music awards. I also had 5 cons
ecutive years of Superior Plus scores and National Music Guild Superior Plus Scores for 10 piece program piano solos.

At the age of 13 I moved to Miami FL, where I studied under Jay Hess and received a piano Scholarship from the Hess Conservatory of Music. I was the winner of the Coral Gables Music Club Scholarship and the 1st Place winner, winning with a perfect score, at the University of Miami Youth Fair. In middle school I sang under Leslie Denning, a Grammy nomination classical vocal teacher and director, and received Superior Ratings from Florida Vocal Association in vocal performance.
My original song “Falling Apart ” was showcased and aired on national television.

For highschool I was chosen to attend the esteemed performing arts school New World School of the Arts. Senior year I was the gold Medal Finalist for the NAACP ACT-SO/ Talent Olympics in Music Composition, Vocal Contemporary and Instrumental Contemporary.

For college I was a scholarship recipient to both Berklee College of Music for Piano and Vocal, and The New School for Contemporary Music. I decided to take a gap year to work with industry professionals in New York, then returned to Florida to attend Florida Southern College and founded the first ever record label at FSC: SoCo Productions. I am now in Los Angeles and founded Angel City Piano Conservatory to pass on the education I am so thankful to have received all of my life. As well as lessons, I aspire to expand to turn ACPC into a non-profit organization that allows under privilege children to experience the magic and healing power of music!

5 Games for Teaching Kids Piano
Piano is considered an umbrella instrument, meaning, teaching kids to play piano helps them understand music more thoroughly, no matter what instrument they want to play later on. Even most singers first learn the basics of music theory and notation on the piano. Piano lessons at an early age lay out the basics of music-making in black and white (quite literally!). The great news is that you don't need to know anything about playing piano to inspire your children to want to learn. Below are a ha
50+ Best Acapella Songs for Girls, Guys, Groups & More
Every singer should have a few traditional and contemporary acapella songs under their belt. Many times, singers are required to sing acapella at auditions - without an accompanist or background track. Music directors often ask singers to sing acapella in order to hear and test their musicality and stamina. (Acapella singing requires that these skills be sharp!) It also shows that you’re able to be a leader, and that you're comfortable having the spotlight on you as a solo singer. If
