Vocal training is for students who have had previous vocal coaches or who desire to use their voice in a professional manner. This is different from those who want to learn how to sing. When I teach vocal training, I work on pitch, breathing, different styles and genres of music. I push my students to excel and to try all types and forms of singing. We work on different vocal techniques and growing ones register.

am private music teacher specializing in stringed instruments. I teach and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano. About Victor
I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. I notate it for them, often simplifying the rhythm and chords in Finale NotePad and give it

I have been teaching piano almost as long as I have been performing, coming up on 10 years. I started teaching beginners when I was just a teenager, and as I learned more about pedagogy and about piano myself, I branched into teaching more advanced students. To date, I have taught lessons to over 100 different students ranging in age from 5 to 70, and ranging in skill from complete beginner to college piano performance major.
Not every student is going to think I’m the best fit for them. I expect consistent practice, completion of assignments, and attention to detail in music. I have had many trial lessons that don’t pan out because the student or parent thinks my expectations are too high for them. Make no mistake; I expect a lot, but I also care deeply about music and have great understanding and sympathy for those who genuinely try. Whether your goal is to learn to read music, improve rhythm, learn to play the great classical repertoire, or simply have a good time learning the ...

Book NowI am very passionate about technique, and so I make sure each student is set up for success by encouraging good posture and both left and right hand placements. I believe scales are vital, so each of my students does a variety of scales and rhythm exercises to ensure they are confident in counting as well as note accuracy and intonation. My mother is a piano teacher, so I grew up loving music, and in turn, falling in love with the idea of teaching! I care deeply about each student and want to ensure that they walk away from each lesson with new knowledge, whilst learning to love the violin and music in general!

Just want to put in a few words to say how much we appreciate Melissa's great skill and teaching ability for our son. She helps him through his lessons and provides much encouragement. He is a shy boy, but she is able to move him forward in his skills and his ability to play in front of others. I highly recommend using Melissa for any and all teaching of music. Great teacher!"

Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate drummer, good hand-eye coordination will help you develop accuracy and control. Here are some tips from music teacher Tracy D., to help you improve your hand-eye coordination... When you're learning drums, you need to watch and sense where your hands are in relation to the kit. It's easy to let your hands outrun your field of vision, and this can result in sloppy execution. Pay attention to your hands; make sure they land in the right place, …
