Learn breath and placement techniques to help find the best version of your voice.

About Leah
Hi! My name is Leah and I provide Beginner to Intermediate lessons in voice and piano. I am a professional singer/songwriter/recording artist with 10 years of training in voice and 12 years of training in piano. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business from Anderson University (Anderson, Indiana) where I studied voice with Dr. Jeffrey Ballard and piano with Professor Ken Chan. I have spent the last 10 years singing, performing, writing, and recording professionally, and I love to share my musical passions with my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
By taking voice lessons with me, you will increase your vocal range, learn correct breathing methods and healthy practice/warm-up exercises, and gain confidence in your performance skills, all while singing the songs and music styles YOU enjoy. Our lessons will be fun, interesting, a
nd beneficial.

With piano lessons, you will learn music theory (including scales, chords, time signatures, key signatures, etc.), exercises to increase dexterity, and how to play the songs YOU want to play. I typically use the Faber curriculum for my piano students, but this may vary depending on each student's needs and interests.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to provide a piano or working electric keyboard for us to use during the lesson.

*** Specialties ***
In voice lessons, I specialize in teaching contemporary styles- pop, blues, soul, gospel, etc.

In piano lessons, I have much experience in working with beginners, both children and adults, but will work with students up through the intermediate level.

Weslie is great!

Weslie has helped me tremendously with music theory. She is really good at listening and figuring out specific areas that I needed help with. She even took time on the side outside of our lessons to listen to music examples I sent her and analyzed them for me. Weslie is patient and makes learning fun. Her teaching environment is comfortable and she's flexible with her schedule. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a teacher!

Weslie is a great mentor and teacher

Weslie has been able to open my eyes to what my voice really sounds like into the "musical world" in terms of technicality. While also been able to make me a better singer already. We have been working on one of my favorite songs, and there's so much I've learned from her in terms of playing the guitar and understanding how the chords are built and interfere into the overall senses of the song. I would recommend Welsie to any person that has passion in music and is willing to take the classes seriously in terms of a good learning pace and content, because I believe that she is one of the best out there in LA.

I love to sing, and so should you! In our singing lessons, I like to make the lesson specific to your individual needs and goals. We start with warm ups, focus on different techniques and styles, breathing/breath control, song choice, performance, and more!

About Brianna
Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 17 years, singing for 23, and playing piano for 19 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and entire songs (covers and originals).

History has always fascinated me. They way our world has developed and changed, and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take
a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.

Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 8 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!

Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

Gabriel is an incredible accent teacher. He has his own technique and all I can say is that it REALLY works. I tried other accent coachs before him and always felt some part of the work wasn't fully done. I felt like they were only showing me what I should be doing. That is not the case with Gabriel. He is detail oriented he has a superman ear, he is very good at explaining what is the mistake you are making and how you can correct it, giving precise exercises and techniques to fix it. I have people asking me if I moved to the States when I was 5 when in reality I moved here less than a year ago :) Can't beat that! A part from his professionalism, he is kind, funny, flexible. I totally recommend him!

I've been working with Gabriel on reducing my accent, and my progress over the past month has been terrific! Gabriel's unique methodology is straightforward and effective. He's also very encouraging, patient, and upbeat. Thanks to Gabriel, I was able to understand (and *hear*) the mistakes I've been making for many years (I've been in the US for over 10 years) and to finally get to fixing them. My friends and colleagues have been asking fewer "What did you say?" questions and as I went to networking functions, I was not asked where I was from, which was a sign to me that people did not hear my Eastern European accent. I'll continue working with Gabriel until I sound like those broadcast TV reporters :-), and I am sure that under his guidance I'll be able to do that. Thanks, Gabriel, you are awesome!

About Joanna
Hi!

Here is my bio:

London born, LA / NYC based vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Joanna Wallfisch has emerged as a unique voice in the singer-songwriter world. With a classical and jazz background her music combines post-folk and art-song with a poetic lyricism which The New York Times described as "sensitive and deep”. She is a master in the art of live vocal looping and creates beguiling vocal soundscapes to accompany her songs. The Telegraph called her virtuosic performance as "sublime and unique".

Since 2011 Joanna has released three critically acclaimed albums, her fourth, "Blood and Bone" to be released later in 2017. “Gardens In My Mind”, (Sunnyside, 2016), features pianist Dan Tepfer and the award-winning Sacconi Quartet, showcasing Joanna’s “crystalline delivery” (Downbeat) and lush string quartet writing. Downbe
at gave this album four stars, calling it "an exquisite singer-songwriter album”, while PopMatters called it “a truly beautiful listen from start to finish”.

In addition to her work as a performer, she has worked on multiple film soundtracks—her song “Satellite” is featured in the movie Pressure, starring Danny Huston, while other credits include All the Beautiful Things (Sundance), Desert Dancer, Dear Wendy and Summer in February. She is also the featured voice of the national ad campaign for Hillshire Farms

Alongside her original material, Joanna commissioned to arrange a full length concert and lecture "Beyond Joni", focussing on the works of female songwriters of the 1960’s, including Joni Mitchell, Judy Sill and Joan Baez, to name a few. This is an ongoing project to be performed around the world.

Joanna has had the opportunity to work with such music luminaries as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Kenny Werner, Lee Konitz Quartet. She has toured her own projects internationally, including Europe, Australia, Japan and throughout the US. She is also a regular collaborator within the dance, circus and theatre worlds.

Joanna is a passionate educator, especially in the field of early music education. She teaches with Grammy Nominated clarinetist Oran Etkin, teaching for his children's music education program Timablooloo. In February of 2016 she ventured to Mumbai to direct a choir of 200 children with the UK charity Songbound, bringing music to impoverished children in India.

I am an experienced musician and performer with a variety of teaching skills gained over 20 years of study and action. Lessons in my studio are about so much more than just learning to sing a song or write music. Students are instilled with business knowledge, work ethic, and confidence so that they can truly accomplish whatever they set their minds to. We go deep and focus on how to develop new mental and physical habits that can help the student better express his/herself. We work hard on a curriculum that is specifically catered to the student's needs, and of course, is fun too!

I've worked with students from ages 6-65, with varying backgrounds and interests. From complete beginners to professional performing artists. All students are guaranteed to see improvement in their technical skills within the first month of lessons. Let's do this!

Firstly, Jameson is not a voice teacher for money. I do not know anyone who genuinely loves music and singing more than him. Jameson's passion for performing is evident from the moment you meet him. His rates are very reasonable considering the top-notch quality of the lessons. He focuses on the fundamentals of releasing your authentic voice rather than specialized techniques to mimic other performers. He listens carefully to your thoughts and feelings throughout each lesson, adjusting accordingly. He challenges you to express how your body is working with your vocals after each try so that you are able to be aware of your voice outside of lessons as well. He ensures that the lesson is fun and fast-paced so that you can feel great strides in vocal improvement with each time.
Thanks to Jameson, my voice has been freed. I sing strongly, with control, and with passion any chance I get. The confidence Jameson has giving me in my singing voice is quite honestly, priceless.

"Jameson is incredible. During my junior year of high school I was not selected for the All State Choir and it devastated me. Jameson was a fairly new vocal teacher in the area and was so accommodating to me when I reached out. Under his guidance I was able to further my confidence as a singer and a performer. Jameson's focused optimism really drove me to push myself. "Before Jameson, I had tried out a few other vocal coaches that worked for semi large companies. These vocal coaches only focused on making each individual song sound good, but didn’t actually help me improve my voice at all. This wasn’t what I was looking for. However, my first lesson with Jameson was eye opening. I remember on the very first day he got me to come out of my shell and make my voice do things it hadn’t done before! I remember being amazed at the vocal range that Jameson helped me uncover and the different ways to help give my breath support; allowing my vocal chords to resonate smoothly and on key. Not only did he give me coaching in both pop and classical, but he gave me confidence in my voice and many opportunities to showcase what I had learned.
Other than the concerts that Jameson sets up himself, he also gave me an opportunity to try out for The Voice. This experience was one of a kind! It was a several day experience where me and a select few other people came to the Tabor Studio and worked on our songs together with multiple coaches to critique our voices so that we would improve for the following day when we actually got to professionally record the songs that we practiced to send to the voice! In addition to this, Jameson helped me place top 10 in the final for Portland Teen Idol, which hosted a few hundred singers. All in all, I regret nothing about my relationship with Jameson. If someone was looking for a vocal coach, Jameson Tabor would be the first person that I would point to."
