I have been taking lessons from Michael for about 9 months, and it has been one of the best experiences I have ever had. He is an excellent guitar player, and instructor. He is patient, thorough, and very willing to pace his instruction with the ability of the student. I am in my late 50's and he is just the person I had hoped for in a teacher. I consider going to lesson not a chore, but a pleasure.

Hi! As a music educator, I have been active since graduating with my music performance bachelor's degree from Mason Gross Rutgers University in 2006.

I believe music offers invaluable lessons for developing creativity, hard-work ethic and self-awareness.

I consider myself to be an easy-going but effective teacher. Students have told me that I'm patient and great at explaining difficult things.

Prior to the first lesson, I will ask you for some background information about the student's experience with music
(lessons/teachers, listening habits, attention/focus, etc.).

During each lesson, we will go over fundamental techniques, songs and improving overall musicianship.

About Krista
I am a piano, voice, and acting teacher with an MFA in Music Education. I studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd, Larry Silverberg, and Karen Giordano in their private studios in New York City. I've had extensive teaching experience, both privately and with public school students from all ages K-12 and adults as well. While my main instruments are piano, voice, and ukulele, I've taught band and strings for many years, so I can help your beginning band students on the basics of any band or string instrument (except percussion-not my forte). I personalize my lessons toward the student to make it fun for them while also expanding into new territories to stretch them and help them grow. You have a fun and patient teacher in me. Together we will work toward your goals in a way that is fun and inspiring. If you would like a time that you do
n't see on my schedule, feel free to ask. Sometimes I can make an exception.

Krista taught our 7-8 year old an intro to piano. She taught our daughter very well and she quickly picked up piano and built her love of music. Her style was firm but fun which was perfect for our independent minded squirmy musical kid. She also gave some singing lessons for a choir audition (which was successful). We miss Krista and would gladly hire her again if she lived closer!

I took vocal lessons with Krista for several years and would highly recommend her. She was always encouraging and I found myself quickly improving with her guidance. Krista has a wide repertoire and gave great suggestions for finding new audition pieces that fit my personality and voice. Krista not only improved my vocal technique, but my confidence and public speaking skills as well. She has my highest recommendation!

I retired last year at the age of 64 and started taking lessons with Stephannie a month ago because I always wanted to learn to sing. I am amazed at the progress I've made in only 5 lessons. I didn't know if I could sing note one, but in the very first lesson she got me to sing 5 note scales and it just keeps getting better every week. Stephannie is simply fabulous and so encouraging that it motivates me to work even harder. Taking lessons with her is one of the best decisions I ever made.

My daughter starting taking lessons with Stephannie around age 10. I was looking for an instructor to teach piano to help introduce my kids to music before they chose an instrument in school. Stephannie was perfect. They learned far more than just piano, they learned to sight read music and learned theory and even got a chance to write a little music of their own. My son started with her around age 9. As a boy, he tended to rush and lose focus sometimes. Stephannie was always so patient and encouraging with both of the kids and worked with their strengths. At the same time, she always pushed them to grow musically. After 3 years, she had to move and we were so sad to see her go. Both of my kids went on to play instruments in school and are their section leaders (violin and trumpet). They can read music at a far more advanced level to most of their peers. That time with Miss Stephannie, building that early musical foundation, was invaluable.

I have been studying piano and voice with Stephannie for over three years and love working with her. I have had both face-to-face and online lessons. She is a master at starting where you are and finding the best approach for you in that moment. I have found parts of my voice I didn't know existed and have tackled a variety of piano pieces. Stephannie brings a wealth of knowledge about performing, technique, music history and style and lessons are always fun. I highly recommend Stephannie.

About Alyssa
Hi there!

I am a supportive and encouraging teacher willing to teach all ages and abilities. It is my firm belief that music is for everyone.

I am currently pursuing my M.M. from Longy School of Music. I completed my undergraduate work at Rhode Island College, where I studied oboe and bassoon privately. I am currently on the private lesson roster for two public schools in the area, and teach both double-reeded instruments. I have successfully helped young students prepare for and audition into district level ensembles.

I have reed-making experience and can assist students with finicky reeds, to help ease the most frustrating part about playing oboe & bassoon.

I'm looking forward to working with you!

About Youdlyn
Greetings students! My name is Youdlyn M., and I have a huge passion for Music. I am proud to serve as a Vocal Instructor for students of all ages. As a teacher, I can help any student with Music Theory, Songwriting and Singing. Music is a major part of my life, and I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to share what I love most with others! Whether you’re a beginner when it comes to singing or you’re an advanced student looking to improve your skills, I am the perfect singing coach and music tutor for you!

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music and Communications from Hobart & William Smith College. As a musician, I have been singing and writing songs for basically my entire life. I am a classically trained vocalist, and I am extremely comfortable working with all types of music, ranging from opera to pop to acapella. These days,
I experience great joy in helping others learn the fundamentals of music and song and working with people to improve their musical abilities. Through the years, I have helped countless students work on their vocal range, pitch, harmonization, melody and general performance techniques.

My favorite aspect of tutoring having the ability to watch as my students improve their skills and gain confidence over time. It brings me great joy whenever I am able to turn a new student into an incredible singer with the ability to impress others with song. I believe that music can make a positive difference in anyone’s life, and that is why I love sharing music with others. Additionally, I always work to make learning music theory exciting and fun for my students. I do this by incorporating stories and humor into my music and by utilizing the styles of music that my students find the most interesting.

I offer competitive rates for my services, and I guarantee outstanding results. If you have any questions, or you would like to inquire about receiving singing lessons, please send me a message, and I will return it as soon as possible. Thanks, and have a great day!

I’m a friendly 28 year old ukulele playing Anthropologist. I started studying anthropology in high school, and instantly fell in love. On this decade long journey I have been fortunate enough to work in all four subfeilds. Some of the jobs I’ve had as an anthropologist include: cultural resource management, coroner’s office, teaching at a university, running an archaeology lab, being a research assistant in a biological evolutionary lab, teaching chemistry, teaching Italian/Spanish, preserving art for the Vatican, SHPO/THPO and much much more. I’ve worked in field schools all over the world, starting as a shovel bum, and working my way up to preservation work. My current research is looking at the degradation of prehistoric Mesoamerican mural pigments.

My ukulele journey is just as varied. I am a self taught player who enjoys all the di
fferent styles of playing. I truly believe that anyone can learn to play the ukulele.

About Jason
My name is Jason Tran and I’ve been obsessed with guitar since 2007. I started out with the big classic influences, such as Metallica, Megadeth, Led Zeppelin, and progressed to explore music of various genres, such as Snarky Puppy (I follow most band members), Plini, Animals as Leaders, CHON, Cory Wong, Moonchild, Funky Knuckles, Mateus Asato, Lari Basilio...etc. I also follow various non-guitar players (vocalists, keyboard players, saxophonists, bassists, drummers...etc) to enrich my playing beyond the traditions of the 6-string guitar. As a result I'm well versed in blues, funk, jazz, fusion, rock, metal, pop. I possess an efficient self-taught approach to learning: using resources online, I taught myself music theory, such as the modes of natural major, harmonic and melodic minor, diminished and augmented scales. I would be a great ins
tructor as I’m naturally in tune with student’s needs, learning styles and comfort level. If you’re looking for a creative and versatile, modern guitar player who can teach as well as they can play, and a budding mixing engineer/music producer, look no further.
