I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I have been teaching professionally for 17 years
It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson.
I try to find out what student is interested in, and guide my instruction according to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.

Whether its for auditions, private enjoyment, for your band or choir we work on vocal technique and practice techniques to improve your vocal ability.

I started playing acoustic guitar when I was seven years old. I have been playing and teaching mostly bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, and swing jazz styles for many years. I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.

Guitar is the first instrument I learned to play starting from when I was 12 years old. I have taught many students how to play guitar from the ground up!

My teaching method starts with what you want to learn to play. That's what it is all about, right? Learning the songs you want to play becomes a vehicle for knowing more about guitar.

For beginning guitar, it is best if we can meet in person so I can see your hand position and posture in detail.

From your first notes to learning groove, chords and scales and how they work, to interpreting songs in your own way, using clear and clean materials; from Blues to Jazz to whatever you want, it will all be in reach!

Acoustic guitar lessons build knowledge of open chords, basic barre chords, and power chords. Guitar lessons involve fun songs and backing tracks to use for practice. Some songwriting skills may be incorporated, based on student goals and ability levels.
