Hi, I'm Ben and music has been my obsession since elementary school. The bass found me when at thirteen and since then, I haven't been able to put it down, playing bass around the US and world in many different projects. Though I formally studied jazz my passion for music of all styles is something I try to share and reflect with my students! I love to teach students of all levels and strive to have each student accomplish or realize their goals. My teaching philosophy is to give enough information and encouragement for the student to be able to learn on one's own. Bringing questions to lessons and working through problems together makes for an exciting learning environment. I've taught all ages and was most recently on faculty at the Eastman Community Music School and SUNY ...
I'm a friendly and patient person who strives to be really encouraging towards the student's education. I believe a good teacher will make a huge difference in the learning process. I was born and raised in Northern California. I first began studying guitar with Musicians Institute alumni Scott Allen. After three years of private lessons, I attended and completed my training from Musicians Institute(G.I.T) with a certificate in guitar performance. At the Musicians Institute, I was instructed by Keith Wyatt, Ernesto Homeyer, Scott Parker, Al Bonhomme, Greg Harrison and Daniel Gilbert (just to name a few). Along with learning the standard curriculum of Musicians Institute, I performed in many styles such as Blues, R&B, Pop, Rock, and Metal. *** Lesson Details *** I like to develop a ...
I am a professional violinist and violist living in Winters, CA, frequenting Sacramento and the Bay Area. I have a passion for performing many different styles and instruments and want to share that with my students! Nothing makes me happier than igniting the drive for music in my students and seeing what music can do for them. I have Bachelors and Masters degrees in music performance from the University of North Texas and the Eastman School of Music, and I am Suzuki trained. I have spent most of my life surrounded by Suzuki teachers and students and am very comfortable with the method! I also love to teach with the traditional methods and am willing to find what works best for each student individually. It is most important to me that the lessons are fun! I find that everyone learns best ...
My name is Sean W. and I've been a multi instrumentalist for 23 years! I've performed opera as a soprano, Rock, funk, punk, metal, and Jazz on guitar, bass, and drum-kit. I find being able to accompany my students on other instruments to be an indispensable tool. I my elementary years I attended a music school. There I performed "classical styles" as a solo soprano and classical pianist. My experience included performing opera with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and smaller "gigs", like weddings and seasonal concerts. I still to this day value my classical training. In 2005-2009 I attended Berklee College of Music as a Bass Principal, majoring in Contemporary Writing and production. My experience here was amazing! There I was able to use every skill I had ever earned as a ...

I was born into a family of musicians. We must have had every style of music floating around every family gathering. I would roam with delight among the Mariachis, Rockers and R&B singers and musicians in my family. As early as 3 or 4 years old, in an effort to get me to quit bugging them, they began to invite me to sing with them.... at least that way I wasn't twirling around knocking down their equipment, or asking a bunch of questions while they were rehearsing or jamming. Music was always and continues to be part of my existence, as normal to me as breathing. I love to sing and enjoy sharing that passion with others. It makes my day to see my students grow in their talents and confidence. From beginners who just want to sing for fun to the more experienced vocalists, I can ...
