Jared is an excellent teacher. I am 62 and took lessons from Jared for about 6 months. He individualizes his lessons, he is very knowledgeable in every aspect of music. He communicates and gives as much or as little information as you desire. We also covered a lot of theory as part of the lessons which I enjoyed.

He has a nice manor and is respectful.
I recommend him highly.

Just an all-around pleasure!

Eva is an incredible vocal coach as well as a confidence coach. The things she taught me and had me do not only strengthened my ability as a singer, but made me more comfortable with developing my own voice and performing in front of others.

She is also very personable and flexible in helping me with whatever I want to do. She isn't the type to try and cram material down your throat that doesn't interest you or in some way help you to get where you want to go.

I always look forward to my next lesson and wish that I could afford longer ones because I feel like I'm constantly growing whenever I'm there.
Alison S. Louisville, KY

About Alison

I'm passionate about music and love sharing that through performance and teaching. I received my degree in viola performance from the University of Louisville School of Music in May 2010. I studied under Chien-Ju Liao along with many other great violists in the Louisville community. I've also had the pleasure of playing with many quartets, chamber ensembles and orchestras including Louisville Youth Orchestra, All-State, the UofL Symphony, and the Louisville Orchestra. Some of my greatest moments involve playing in Carnegie Hall and premiering a world-class ballet performance with the UofL Symphony Orchestra. Music has been a part of my life since I was little and I can't imagine life without it. Along with viola, I also study, play and teach piano and violin. *** Lesson Details *** ...

Playing the piano is fun.

The first lessons Alison coached me on the fundamentals of piano playing, but also spent a good time listening to me play. The following lessons she added a songbook, delved deeper into the core course book, and added Beethoven (which I love). In short she had adapted our lessons to her evaluation of my ability and my feedback to build a course trajectory that would keep the lessons engaging, challenging, but fun.

Overall she is a great instructor and you feel no pressure playing in front of her.

Richard W. New Albany, IN

About Richard

I picked up the guitar 13 years ago and have always had a big passion for teaching. I switched my specialty to bass after three years and have taken it farther than I thought I ever could. In addition to the passion I have for playing my passion for teaching has never been stronger. Bass being my specialty, I teach everyone from beginner to master. Specialize in advanced techniques like pop-snap, harmonics and two hand tapping. For both guitar and bass I base all of my lessons on music theory and use that as a foundation for learning and understanding all music.

Introduction to Reading Violin Tabs
Tablature is a form of musical notation that was invented to make reading music easier for fretted and string instruments like guitar, bass, and violin. The premise is operationally-based, meaning that rather than showing rhythm, duration, and pitch, violin tabs will show the player where and when to place their fingers on the instrument. For an improvising musician, violin tabs allow you to improvise while staying within the chord structure of a song. Tablature-style notation is most commonly
