I have been a professional singer since 1983 and have taught since 1986. I studied voice and trained classically from 1972 - 1982. Several of my students have been professional singers, from rock to opera. I teach the individual to understand the technicalities of the vocal instrument; how to breathe correctly, understand the internal acoustics and how to access them, how to project healthily, how to relax and get out of the way of using your instrument, and so much more. This is not your typical voice curriculum, but even more essential if you want to keep your voice in top form all your life. At 67, I can sing with or without amplification for several hours a day indefinitely because I have mastered the techniques I will teach you.

To be able to sing smoothly from your lowest note to your highest note regardless of how you feel is one of the many skills you gain from good vocal technique. Whether the high notes are challenging for you or the lower notes are challenging, singing on pitch, vocal strength or vocal consistency is an issue this can all be fixed with proper and healthy vocal technique. What I teach works quickly students usually hear of feel a difference on their first lesson.
Sounding good when you sing is not the only important part to a long singing career. To be able to do what you love throughout your life it is important to sing in a healthy way also. To be able to sing when you are healthy and rested is easy to some people however singing when you are tired, sick, stressed, fatigued or you have just stained your voice is another matter. Good vocal technique gives you the tools to sing in whatever physical shape your body is in. If you have vocal problems such as soft or hard nodules, pre or ...

I have been teaching this subject for over 10 years. I have a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and a minor in Vocal Pedagogy. My students can expect vocal technique through warmups, appropriate repertoire selection, language guidance, and an integration of singing and acting (performance skill) appropriate for auditions. We found Chau Kim through our elementary school that my two kids were attending. She was the music teacher there. She was putting on Musical Programs at the school and doing a find gob at it. Both my children were interested in taking vocal lessons, so we asked if she gave private lessons. She did, and from that moment on our lives without a doubt have changed for the best. Both my kids took to her from the start. Chau is able to be bond with all ages of kids. My kids were a little rough to listen to at first, but now they bring tears of Joy when they sing. Chau helped my son get into the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts. Where he is one of the top male vocalist at his school. He now performs in Musicals through the Valley, as well gets several paying gigs around town. My daughter is in one of the top Performing Arts Colleges in New York City. So there is your proof that you will also benefit greatly from having Chau as your Vocal Teacher."
