I am an experienced Music Educator and would love to share the joy of music with you! My mission is to create joyful experiences that inspire a lifelong love of the arts. I have been teaching for seven years. I am an operatically trained vocalist and have been playing piano since I was nine years old. I taught private voice and piano to ages 5-65 for four years, then received my Bachelor's of Music in Music Education from Southern Methodist University. I became a certified Music Educator and taught K-5 music and ukulele in public schools as well as internationally.

During my time in the K-5 classroom, my students were invited as a featured group to perform at a state music educator's convention, I presented workshops to fellow educators, and I organized an 80 student ukulele program! I have extensive performance experience. I have sung professionally for musical theatre companies, churches, and private events. I'm currently based out of the NYC/ Jersey City area and loving every ...

Not only is John an off-the-charts professional drummer, he's a fantastic human being as well! He loves music and it comes through in the lessons! In 35 years of playing and hanging around wannabees, John is the genuine musician! Anyone really wanting to learn correctly needs John. I recommend him 100%.

"I had never taken vocal lessons before, but I have always been interested in them. A few months ago, I finally decided to take classes and I signed up with Melody. I was a bit apprehensive because I've never sung for other people, but Melody made me feel comfortable and she was and has been completely supportive. She identifies problem areas like breathing, improper form, or technique and provides constructive criticism. Melody pushed me to hit notes I've never been able to and I've noticed my vocal range expanding and the overall quality and tone of my projection has improved. I’m extremely happy with Melody and highly recommend her to anyone looking to take singing classes."

"Kait is part intuitive, part miracle-worker and all music and voice! She was able to take our daughter – whose older siblings said couldn't even sing 'Happy Birthday' – and work with her to achieve a Broadway-style range and capacity to belt out a song that no one in our family ever expected. Kait's ear and sense of what's possible in a voice is uncannily good. She can find the positive attributes in anyone's voice and build on them. Our daughter is now a confident, uninhibited singer and performer, thanks to Kait!"

"Brian first and foremost is a fantastic bassist. I heard live at a local club and asked if he gave lessons. Fortunately he did and I started studying with him soon thereafter. I was a beginner/ intermediate player at the time and over the course of the next two years not only did my playing greatly improve so did my knowledge of music theory. Brian has been a wonderful source of information. I couldn't ask for someone better. I still get an occasion lesson in with him and he reminds me how much there still is to learn. I highly recommend Brian for anyone interested in learning the upright bass or, as was the case with me, someone with the basics who wants to get better."

"Howard is a great piano teacher! My daughter started taking piano lessens with him two year ago, at 7 years old. I was so trilled at how Howard really tries every angle to interest her. He shows her different styles of piano music and lets her chose songs she likes to play. Since she started lessens with Howard, practicing became a bit easier. My 6 year old son just started taking lessens with Howard six months ago and already love it. Both of my kids love going to their piano lessens every week!"

"Kelly has helped me take strides on my singing pathway. I have grown immensely when it comes to controlling my voice and how to properly support it. Whenever a technique is difficult to understand, Kelly will explain it in a technical way and then also break it down in a fun way to make it much, much easier to comprehend. This helps so much because then I learn the terminology and also how to actually do what is being asked of me. Kelly is so knowledgeable on what she teaches that she can create different ways to deliver each technique to her students on the spot in a way that will truly stick with them. The comfortable and positive atmosphere that Kelly creates allows me to really enjoy the singing I am doing and also experiment with my voice and not worry about sounding awful. I am so grateful to have such an encouraging, fun, and knowledgeable vocal coach. She is truly the best!"

"I Left My First Session SO EXCITED!!!

I didn't realize so much could be accomplished in an hour, but I left our first lesson with an understanding about where I'm at with my voice, what is special about my voice, and feeling really excited and encouraged with where my voice can go. Vanessa was VERY patient with me, as I'm very much out of practice, but it took her no time at all to pin point my trouble spots and she quickly had other suggestions if certain exercises didn't work for my voice. After our session, I drove away in my car just beaming and I couldn't stop singing. Can't wait for our next session!"
