If you are looking for a very skilled and knowledgeable vocal instructor, Moriah is exactly that and then some.

I started lessons with her right about the time COVID had started and our sessions have been done online. Over the course of a few months, I have felt and heard the improvement in my singing abilities through her guidance. So if you have any doubts about taking lessons online (ignoring the current situation), rest assured that you'll be in good hands with her. She will make sure you understand and fully grasp the concepts and techniques that she teaches you and how to apply them. Even if it takes hearing the most ridiculous analogy for you to comprehend it. Every lesson caters to what you're working on or need more assistance with. So every warm up or exercise has purpose. You also have the freedom of selecting the song you'd like to work on which makes the experience all the better and more personal.

I had developed bad singing habits after attempting to teach myself several times in the past. Like many others, I also hate the sound of my own voice. Moriah though has been patient as well as supportive and helped me undo those bad habits. She's also taught me to have better control, have stronger breath support, how to analyze the phrasing and pronunciation of a lyric, know proper resonance placement, and be more confident about my voice.

A big part of picking a coach or instructor is being able to connect with them and building a good rapport. Moriah has a welcoming and supportive personality, but knows the meaning of hard work and persistence and she will expect that in order for you to progress.

I have a ways to go until I reach where I would like to be in my journey of singing, but I chose Moriah and there have been no regrets.

Moriah is a great Singing teacher. I couldn't hold a tune. Moriah helped me overcome a fear of singing in front of people after I had bad experiences with other music teachers. She had faith in me. After several lessons I now can sing in tune!! Thanks Moriah for helping me do what I love to do-Sing!

When I first met Moriah, I was a little hesitant to continue lessons with her because she was in her 20s like myself. I wanted someone, I guess, older to be my instructor. The older they are, the more they know, the more they can teach right? ...........Well, Moriah is one heck of a smart woman when it comes to music theory, and ear/vocaltraining! She knows what she is talking about and even more so, knows how to explain it in a way YOU will understand. She will work with you until you are able to grasp what she is trying to teach, even if you have to try a million different methods before the right one is found. She would rather spend time with you in fully understanding something then just pushing you along. She is open to questions, comments and concerns you have. Moriah is very aware of the concept of “one size does NOT fit all”, and she will customize your session to your needs, and skill level.

Her lessons usually start of with a couple of stretches (usually just upper body). This is to help relax your body, jaw, mouth, etc before singing. Then she will do some vocal warms that at first seem pretty basic, and not intense, but they will help you in the long run! Trust me. Then she will practice with you a song you want to try to sing or need help with. As you progress, she will have you work on reading music and other skills. (Course, she is open to working on anything more or less as you need). Once again, your lesson is customized on what YOU need.

I’ve been working with her since July 2018. I know that I have improved on ear training immensely! I am able to pick up melodies much faster than before. I am able to sing more powerful than before which is something I struggle with consistently. She will push you! She will take you out of your comfort and push you to have confidence in yourself. She has a great personality. Kind. Fun. Energetic. Intelligent beyond her years. I’m continuing to take lessons with her until she makes me the next Beyoncé or something.

So I highly recommend her. Book a few lessons with her, attend them, don’t forget to take your water, and a recoding device, be responsible and take it serious because she is taking you serious. After all you’re paying for the lessons. You want to improve. And you will.

I’m looking forward to continue working with her and be stretched more.

I have been singing since I was 10 years old and since I started professionally at 14, I've performed in over 15 different countries around the world and done arena tours and festivals. Vocal training is extremely important for a singer, even the most experienced artists have vocal coaches their entire lives. I've been teaching young people to sing since 2010 and I'm very keen to continue to see them all grow as artists! My methods vary from person to person as I like to find out their individual goals and go from there, but I usually take the first lesson to get to know them and find out their strengths and weaknesses, and work on a lesson plan that helps them as well as having fun.

She does "unclean" vocals in her band, Karkaza but is super knowledgeable on regular singing. After only a couple months, I'm beginning to see some progress despite my years singing improperly.

I have been teaching voice for 17 years now. I have taught to students aged between 17 - 60 and also have worked with children aged between 4 - 14 and helped them get into children choruses in opera houses as well as preparing them later for conservatory auditions. As i am also a biodynamic breathwork trauma release system therapist , miyofascial energy release massage therapist and holding meditation workshops , i have a deeper understanding of body pressure , tension release . I also use human voice to release trauma combined with breathwork and use breath and bodywork to use voice as a whole instrument. Through these techniques i can also help you find a real connection with your heart center and work on your music through these techniques. Great singing comes from being the song itself , staying in the flow , releasing and freeing yourself with the air , while you are balanced in your body and in the spine. My lesson plans are designed to be musical and fun. I want my students to understand the language of the music by studying their favorite bands and understanding the theory behind it. I have a strategy for everyone starting from beginner, intermediate, to advanced. I remember picking up a guitar for the first time and what a struggle it was to play my favorite songs. There is a method for achieving these goals and it is different for everyone. The one thing that will allow you to succeed is having a desire to learn and a passion for music. If you have those two things then I can direct you to the right path to achieve your musical goals!

Steve is a great teacher. I had some small working knowledge after trying to teach myself for a year without any luck and with Steve's help I've learned a lot and can play a couple of songs! He really listens to you and what your interests are and focuses on those rather than the traditional method of going through the basics and earning things we have no interest in like we all did in band class in school. Of course if that's what you need he will, but in all its focused on you and what you need to progress yourself as a musician. He is also very easy to work with in terms of making and changing schedules. If you have a hectic and ever changing life like myself it's no problem for Steve to work around. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in taking their guitar playing to the next level.

Steven is an excellent teacher. I wanted to learn how to play a song quickly but Steven showed me the chords and correct techniques. By learning this way, I can play a variety of songs and not just memorize one. I am thoroughly enjoying my lessons with Steven. He is professional and personable and has made learning fun. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to play the guitar. The most impressive part about Steven is he won't let you fall into bad habits pay attention focus.

Steve is an absolutely phenomenal teacher! He has been working with our 4th grade son for a couple of months and the progress has been substantial. Steve takes a genuine interest in the genres of music our son enjoys and uses that to enhance his interest in learning. I would absolutely recommend Steve for any age/level of guitar player.

"As a student in NYU, Shelley was my third or fourth musical instructor. In general, what I have seen is that musical instructors have a great talent and knowledge in their given field, but I found that their knowledge wasn't clearly disseminated to me. However, specifically in terms of voice lessons, Shelley was able to tailor the lessons to who I was as a person. She combined her knowledge with my interests to help me learn how to best use my voice. For example, I love ASL and have foundational knowledge in the language. At the beginning of most lessons, Shelley and I would check in with each other and would make sure we are both doing ok (that the stresses of the week didn't bring us down). This is how Shelley began to learn of my interest in ASL, and used it in our lessons. ASL is a beautifully emotional language that requires you to paint a picture. And when I sang, Shelley told me I needed more emotion; I needed to paint the picture. So she told me to sign the song in ASL. This is just a long winded way of saying Shelley will learn your voice/personality, and she will use all her techniques to make you the best you! I miss my lessons with her because they were therapeutic for me. Today, I have a better understanding of my voice and it capabilities. #MoreAir #CreateSpace #SingOut #BECONFIDENT #Music=Therapy"

"I recently approached Cindy for vocal coaching on songs that I perform on a regular basis with my duet. I am extremely pleased with her instruction. She was to the point, very clear and concise with her guidance. I know she improved my performance (I had a concert the very next day!). She gave me so much to think about. I really trust her approach with me. She made me feel very much at ease, which resulted in rapid-fire student/teacher give and take vocal direction. This is the way I like to learn! I loved my time with her and will certainly have another session with her soon!"
