John's a nice guy , who helped me with some start-up basics, as well as helping me get a better idea of what techniques, scales, and chords to use, that would help me play the music I want to. Knowledgeable, and patient. Highly recommend you check him out.

I enjoy the lessons

Even though I am not familiar to music (other than listening), John has been very patient with me. He makes sure that we don't go too fast or too slow on the teaching/learning process. One of the best things about John is that he welcomes any questions or concerns I may have. So even if I don't make it to be a Famous Rock Star, John is there to teach me to learn to play like one. Thanks John!!!

Was nervous about my first lesson, never played piano before but Jennifer explained about the piano, notes and how to start reading music and my nerves subsided. Didn't think I'd be playing easy, short pieces in my first lesson! Looking forward to my next lesson.

Jennifer is a knowledgeable piano teacher. English is not my native language but the way she explains the music theory is very easy for me to understand. I'm very lucky to have her as my teacher.

About Adam
Hi, my name is Adam Vincent Clay, 29, and I have been playing piano since I was 7 years old, and teaching private lessons for 8 years in Oklahoma and Texas areas. Since childhood I have been fascinated with the instrument, and I have never stopped falling in love with music.

I've worked with students of all ages and abilities (including adults) on technique, repertoire, ear-training, composition, improvisation, music theory, and application. I take a personalized approach with each student, incorporating multi-sensory elements, and educational extra-lesson assignments. This further enriches the students' understanding, appreciation, and application of the material being presented. I want for each student to develop the love and excitement for music that I have, and to have the practical and technical skills to support their musical
pursuits.

My experience as an arts organizer and performer will allow me to help you build confidence through your performance, and a relaxed natural piano technique that will allow you to go as far as you desire in the study of piano performance. I am passionate about helping you achieve your personal musical goals while giving you a strong foundation in piano technique for support.

Adam is a fantastic teacher! He teaches for all learning styles: visual, auditory and kinesthetic. I've had ineffective teachers in the past because they only related to one learning style. He's great with all ages and his passion for music is contagious.

About Rachel
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm.

I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice and the journey of patience. The process of learning has helped me carve out and cultivate my style of music. It's opened up a lot of doors for me in my life. I've had the honor to play with a lot of great performers and have been lucky enough to tour the U.S. and Canada with festivals and showcases such as Vans Warped Tour, South By Southwest and the Halifax Pop Explosion.I've been the opening act for Carolyn Wonderland, Maria Taylor, Tsunami Bomb, Tilly and the Wall, Basia Bulat, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere. Anathallo, Cursive, Milton Hopki
ns, and Pony Up.

When I have free time I volunteer with the Houston Chapter of Girls Rock Camp to help teach girls empowerment through songwriting and music.

I began teaching as an afterschool job when I was 16. I was homeschooled, so I feel that the experience taught me that everyone learns differently and that there is not just one standardized method to playing music.

My teaching style varies with each student, but the one constant is my ability to make each and every client I encounter completely fall in LOVE with music. It's my super power.

Lesson plans are tailored for your specific needs and to help you achieve your musical goals and aspirations at your desired pace. I enjoy my students and making music with them.

Here is an overview of the lessons that I provide.

Guitar:
Finger Picking, Song Writing, Rhythm, Lead, Scales,Modes & Ear Training.

Songwriting and composition: Learn techniques, how to brain storm and plot your musical story line. This class pairs great with vocal lessons or guitar lessons.

Bass:
Scales, Rhythm, Beginner and Advanced song structure, Ear Training

Ukulele :
Technique, Intro to Chords, Ear Training, Strumming patterns - Ukulele is one of my favorite classes to teach. You simply can not help but smile when playing this instrument!

Vocals :
Breathing techniques, Scales, Harmonizing

You will first meet Marty Naul, the professional musician. Then you will get to know Marty as a friend; a most affable and humorous man. When the band Chameleon hired him as our drummer, as a bass guitarist, I knew immediately the rhythm section of our band was in good hands, but the rest of the band soon discovered what else we had found, as Marty took the lead in structuring disciplined rehearsals in our approach to presenting our original music. Marty is the exception to the rule "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach". Marty is the best drummer I have ever played with, and his musical education gives him the tools to teach at all levels, from beginner to advanced drumming. But Marty will also bring more to the drum lessons, the attribute of what I have already alluded to; the skill of relating to and cooperating with fellow musicians and band mates. Congratulations for bringing Marty into your world!
