Learned a lot

Teresa is a teriffic teacher and takes a lot of pride in her work. She took her time with me and introduced me to a new way of delivery and breathing that helped with my speed and articulation. Teresa introduced new items to each lesson that made it a constant learning experience. Teresa is not only patient, but pleasant and I will be continuing my lessons with her this summer for my "tune up".
Laudon S. Rochester, NY

About Laudon

When I first heard my dad play "Blackbird," I was hooked. I borrowed my little brother's guitar and started teaching myself from some old Hal Leonard books. There was something so exhilarating about making a piece of wood produce beautiful sounds. Soon I was taking lessons on electric guitar, playing Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. My teacher at the time pushed me toward classical guitar and I starting attending evening classes at the local community college when I was in high school. I fell in love with making music and decided to make it my career. I earned my Bachelor's of Music from Arizona State University, studying under Frank Koonce. During my first few years there, I focused on technique and commissioning new works for the guitar, while exploring the vast repertoire of music ...

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Laudon as a guitar instructor. I have had the privilege of studying with him for a year and have been most impressed by his knowledge of music theory, technique and performance. Laudon has crafted a lesson strategy that ensures that I will reach my personal artistic goals as quickly as possible. He listens carefully to my questions and answers them by using visual references that enhance my understanding of challenging concepts. Not only does Laudon share his expansive knowledge of music in a relaxed, comfortable manner to students of all ages and walks of life, he does so with warmth and humor. It would be impossible to find a better musical mentor and coach. In sci-fi terms, the force is strong with him!

Keith Silliman is a talented musician who meets me where I am at as an adult learner of piano. He is magically able to help me play music rather than just notes.

my piano teacher Keith S. makes learning piano fun.

My piano teacher has a relaxed approach that makes our lessons comfortable. He creates an environment that makes me feel at ease and able to enjoy learning piano. We focus on timing and rhythmn patterns and he will sometimes play the same notes next to me so I can see his hand position and learn when I would change to accommodate my playing the piece. Keith is a wonderful teacher and I appreciate his comments and direction.

Alex M. Rochester, NY

About Alex

At 23 years of age, I feel I have come a long way with my passion for music. From southern Louisiana, I began my involvement in music by taking piano lessons at the age of 5. I began trumpet studies in my school bands starting at the age of 10. I have won numerous music awards and am pursuing a career in orchestral trumpet performance. I love sharing my knowledge with students and inspiring them to become better musicians. I have given trumpet lessons and clinics at various K-12 schools around Louisiana while studying music education at Loyola University New Orleans. I recently moved to Rochester, NY, to pursue my degree of Master of Music Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, studying under James Thompson.
