Mark S.

Philadelphia, PA

About Mark

Learning music, especially at a young age, can have a positive impact in life. From simply playing music in the home to performing music for large audiences, the basic goal is the same: the enjoyment of being a proficient musician. I have written a bit about my experience and how I can use this to help you to become a great musician. I began studying music when I was 8 years old. My early lessons taught me not only about music but about music teaching. As a result of these experiences, I vowed to teach students music that is meaningful to them. Moving along, in high school I played in rock bands with my friends. I can never stress how important it is to play with other people. I always encourage my students to ...

Mark has been great! I don't fit easily into a student level because I have had some piano training before -- but not in a long time. He has picked up very quickly on my skill level and has been very good about letting me pick my own music and helping me to learn. I feel that I am progressing as fast--or eve faster--than I had hoped. I highly recommend him for piano!

Nero C.

Philadelphia, PA

About Nero

I have been teaching music for 20 years. I grew up on the 2nd floor of my father's music store in Central PA and have been around music my whole life. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of the Arts where I studied jazz guitar with Pat Martino, Jimmy Bruno, Steve Giordano, and Tom Giacabetti. I was one of the original teachers during the formative years at the Paul Green School of Rock Music where I later went on to be the Music Director of the Philadelphia and Downingtown Schools. During that time, I helped many students prepare and get accepted to music schools, ran and developed music summer camps, and organized concerts where the students performed the music of Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and many more of rock's finest band at every major venue in ...

Mandolin Lessons

I recently started playing mandolin on my own - and decided to take lessons to make sure that my technique was correct. -- All I can say is that Nero is the best music teacher I have ever had - not to mention, a gifted musician. He makes learning fun, and his approach and patience allows you to easily pick up new techniques and skills. I hope to take lessons with Nero for a long time!!!!

Jeffrey W.

Haddon Heights, NJ

About Jeffrey

My background is as a classically trained singer and voice teacher. I have studied with numerous leading voice teachers and singers in the United States. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Florida State University in Voice Performance and I studied for my Doctorate in Musical Arts in Vocal Pedagogy from The University of Miami. My education has provided me a great understanding of how the voice functions correctly and how to relate this to any level of student, from completely inexperienced singers to advanced singers. My teaching style focuses on making sure that the different parts of the voice are working correctly then focusing on the coordination of the entire system working together. Whether you are preparing for an important singing engagement or just trying to ...

Jeffrey rocks! I'm 59 and after a lifetime of not properly singing, I'm finally learning how to correctly sing and protect my instrument. It has been about three months and I've improved exponentially. Jeffrey accepts you at whatever level you are at and brings you along from there. He is knowledgable, patient, and always positive!

Excellent teacher! I couldn't be more elated with my decision in choosing Jeffrey for my singing instructor. Not only does he possess highly impressive credentials but he has an amazing way of combining his highly trained teaching ability with his wonderful ability to make you feel comfortable, confidant and at ease. Each week I am amazed at his teaching technique, his engaging personality and his obvious eagerness in helping you achieve your goals. Have had a couple of vocal coaches in the past however Jeffrey is by far the most outstanding teacher I've had and feel privileged to have found him. Thank you, Jeffrey!

Philip V.

Sewell, NJ

About Philip

I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in music production and engineering. I am a keyboardist of more than 20 years, and I love being able to impart the gift of music to others, whether that involves piano technique, music theory, or recording lessons. *** Lesson Details *** I have one philosophy with regard to my lessons: on the whole, they must be enjoyable. If that's not there, the motivation will not be there. While there's work involved in learning music, I strive to focus on songs my students are interested in and supplement that with the necessary practicing techniques. *** Studio Equipment *** Keyboards: Yamaha Motif ES8, Nord Electro 3; Recording Software: Pro Tools 11, Sonar X1 *** Travel Equipment *** Customarily I provide the initial notebook ...

Philip is an excellent teacher--he communicates well, is very professional, friendly, patient with children, and has excellent credentials. He teaches my granddaughter, who can be a little chatterbox, but Philip handles her very well. I would highly recommend him for anyone.
