Gabriel F. Marietta, GA

About Gabriel

Gabe has been playing the drums for twenty years and has been teaching students for about twelve years. In that time he has played with numerous live acts as well as studio work. His experience mostly lies in jazz, funk, blues, latin, and rock. As much as he loves playing these styles he loves to teach them. Gabe's music education began in grammar school and continued through high school. In college he earned a non-music bachelor's degree but never stopped studying the drums. With the help of his own private instructors and continued playing experience, he now considers himself a self-taught musician and uses this experience to show his students how to do the same. His students can expect a challenging curriculum that will make them better players no matter what style of music ...

Great Instructor

Gabe is a great instructor who is extremely knowledgeable in all facets of the drum and drumming. I am an older student who has started lessons after a very long layoff from the drums….way back to elementary school days. Gabe is extremely patient as we have gone back and started with the very basics. I would highly recommend Gabe to anyone interested in studying the drums at any level.

Outstanding student instructor!

Gabe has been a phenomenal drum instructor for our 10-year old nephew! He blends the perfect balance of discipline on fundamentals with fun rhythms that keep our nephew interested but focused. We've seen great progress in his development just in the first two months. Gabe is very patient, yet firm, in his style and his skill level is amazing, so his qualifications are certainly exceeded.

Overall, we would highly recommend Gabe for student instruction!

Great Teacher!

Gabe is an awesome teacher. Very laid back, but also knows his stuff and supplies plenty of good practice material to help improve your skills. Seems to be familiar with teaching all different kinds of styles and has no problem adjusting the lessons to suit the needs of the student.

Very knowledgeable and willing to do the research if you present with a new challenge. I have been a singer most of my life, with only limited training. I had reached a point where my voice was failing. She has helped me to reconstruct my approach to singing and has saved my voice. I am in my 40's but am now singing better and more consistently that I have at anytime in my life! Highly Recommended!

Rich obviously knows what he is doing. I have three children taking lessons from him and he quickly found their strengths and weaknesses and started from there. Just a few lessons in and the kids are loving it.
Highly recommend.

Rich is an excellent music teacher! He is patient and understanding of the needs of the student. He has developed a good rapport with our grandson who is learning to play the piano. We like the fact that he teaches him to read the music as well as learning the keys on the piano. We would totally recommend him for anyone who is wanting to take up music. Rich is truly amazing!!!!

She encourages and gives detailed instuctions and is genourous with her time. And plays guitar very well at a level I could only dream of. She helped me remember a song I knew. And taught me different ways to play songs that I already know.

I found Aimee through TakeLessons after not being very satisfied with my daughter's previous guitar teacher. From my first conversation with Aimee, I knew choosing her was going to be the right decision. Her experience and expertise shows as she knows how to teach and is good at it. My wife and I feel blessed to have found Aimee and that she is our daughter's teacher now. We are planning to have her start teaching our youngest son piano.

My son, Joe, has been taking guitar lessons from Mrs. Aimee since he was in kindergarten. He is now in third grade. In second grade, he also started taking voice lessons from Mrs. Aimee. She has been a God-sent to us! She is a professional, hard-working guitar instructor. She also worked with our crazy schedule and taught Josiah through Skype a few times when we could not make it to her location on time. Mrs. Aimee is a consistent teacher who also is very patient and loving with her students. She made the lessons fun and interesting for my son by incorporating the kind of music genres that he liked. She is not only Josiah's guitar teacher but has now become a friend of the family.
John C. Dallas, GA

About John

I have played/studied guitar for almost 15 years. As a musician I have been a part of several different bands and have played at venues all over the southeast. As a teacher I have been giving lessons for almost 10 years and have been very successful in developing techniques and strategies to enhance the skills of beginner and intermediate guitar players. I am actively involved with the event Lutheran Happening of The South for 10 years where I have served as a Musician and Director. From 2004 to 2006 I served as the lead guitarist for the Lassiter High School FCA. I studied and learned the ins and outs of music theory while I was a member of the National Championship Lassiter High School Marching band for four years. In college I was a member of the Wesley Foundation ...

I had the great pleasure of being able to play guitar with John at Lutheran Happening of the South this past Labor Day weekend. It was my first time playing guitar at Happening and I needed to learn the ropes. John was busy both playing music while also being a director for the weekend, but he still made time to practice the songs with me. The music and the entire weekend came together splendidly. If you're looking for a great guitar instructor, you've come to the right web page.

I took lessons with John for a year and a half.

After I bought my first guitar my parents suggested I take lessons. I did not really know what to expect from taking lessons and honestly I did not think I would get very much out of it. I was wrong...

John is a great guitar teacher because he does not do cookie cutter lessons. Each week my lessons were tailored to my goals and progress.

During my first lesson John spent extra time with me talking about what I wanted to get out of guitar lessons, and together we wrote down daily, weekly, and monthly goals (my parents really appreciated this because I started doing this with everything and I am now in college and do this with my classes). For me, music was kind of like a different language but John was able to explain things to me in a simplified way so I could really grasp the concepts.

The first 2 to 3 lessons I worked on basic chords and strum patterns and the techniques I learned jump started my abilities. I exceeded my first month goals and it was not long before I was playing along to a few of my favorite songs. Once I got down the basic chords and strum patterns I learned scales, complex chords, and how to read music and tabs.

If you are really wondering what learning guitar is like, I will tell you that it is difficult and frustrating. My favorite thing about having John as a teacher is that he would call me once a week in between my lessons to see how I was doing, answer questions, and talk through my frustrations. He does this with all of his students and it was evident to myself and my parents that John truly does care about helping his students meet their goals.

I don't think you will come across many guitar teachers like this. Anytime I come across a family member or friend who wants to learn guitar or has a child who wants to learn guitar I send them right over to John.

I highly recommend John to anyone looking for a guitar teacher who will absolutely help you to become a better musician.
