Valerie B. Wilmington, DE

About Valerie

Hi there! My name is Valerie. I'm a certified music teacher that loves to see a person grow in their love and ability for music. With 17 years of teaching privately, experience teaching publicly in elementary school music classrooms, enjoying several years as a Kindermusik (preschool music) teacher, and a school year teaching with VSA arts of Delaware (teaching music to those with disabilities), I find it thrilling to see a person of any age & background grow and blossom in their passion for music! Though I enjoy and have experience at teaching all ages from children to adults, I specialize in CHILDREN'S MUSIC EDUCATION (ages 5-12). I would describe myself as an elementary school music teacher that teaches privately. ;) My studio is filled with many smiles, stickers for every ...

We chose Valerie because of her experience with kids. She made my daughter feel at ease immediately, connecting with her through humor, easy-to-understand communication and praise. In just three lessons, I can already see the difference in my daughter's voice. We are happy to have found Valerie!

Sam's Dad

Valerie is excellent with Samantha. She tries to keep Sam on track during lessons and makes them fun for Sammy. Valerie did a spectacular job in a couple weeks prepairing Samantha for an audition to Cab Callaway. Samatha went into and performed very well at the audition, THANKS VALERIE!!! Valerie has been excellent with both her vocal and piano teachings and we would highly recommend Valerie.

Fantastic Teacher

I am not your typical student. I am 45, and male. Im an acomplished guitar player and play in a band. I never had any real training for singing, and had very little control over my voice or really knew how to control it.
Roz has helped me immensely. She is very knowledgeable in music and voice theory, and has very well thought out constructive criticism. She uses a lot of visualization techniques to help with body and breath control. She is patient and understanding and willing to talk through some theory issues, instead of just drilling lessons. Although most of her students are younger, she really thoughtfully catered her lesson to my needs, instead of just trying to apply the same approach to everyone. I would recommend her highly to anyone and will be sending my son for piano lessons!

My grandson is taking piano lessons from Rosalind H. At first I was wondering about the interaction because he's shy; but he looks forward to his lessons and practices diligently. I'm sure it's because of Rosalind's experience and teaching techniques that makes it so enjoyable for him; she's very good with children. I'm so glad she was available!

Crystal B. Coatesville, PA

About Crystal

A saxophonist by trade, I, Crystal B., have been privately instructing for six years. The ultimate goal of my teaching style is for my students to become well-rounded musicians. I achieve this by providing individuals with a solid foundation in basic music theory (i.e. scale structures) in order to understand any music that is presented to them, and challenge them with site reading exercises. A better understanding of music leads to the true enjoyment of playing music. As a freelance musician, I am a woodwind doubler within the Philadelphia circuit. A versatile player, I have performed in shows including Thoroughly Modern Millie with the Upper Darby Summer Stage, Fiddler on the Roof also with the Upper Darby Summer Stage, and A Chorus Line with the Swarthmore Player’s Club, while ...
