Great first lesson. David made me feel comfortable since I am a senior and have not played in over 20 years. He was patient and encouraging. He made me feel I made the right decision to start taking lessons and to play again an instrument that I love.

About Dale
I've taught public school elementary band for 30 years, have been a church organist for 70 years, and taught piano and organ for 57 years. I enjoy teaching music and working with students and believe that learning to read music will enable the student to play with other musicians and enjoy music as much as I have. I try to put myself in the student's place to think as he/she does and help them understand music and perform it.

About Bennie
Hello. If you want to learn to play and understand piano and music,... I can help you!

I teach, play and compose a variety of styles, such as pop, rock, blues, classical, jazz, and new-age music. I can show you how to listen to a recording and to play it without written music. Also, I can teach you to read a lead sheet/fake book/chord chart or the grand staff for piano. I can teach you simple or fancy chords/scales/songs.

I have played keyboard and or piano for the "Diana Ross Show Review", "Beatlemania" and various notable restaurant/clubs in Pittsburgh, Pa. I studied music at Duquesne University and studied privately with Frank Cunimondo for Jazz improvisation.

I enjoy helping students learn to play the piano and understand music. We will have a good time.

I can teach you the fundamentals and beyond and help you pursue all
of your musical goals.

Please listen to my CD, "Spaces With Time", on the "Bandcamp.com" website. I hope you enjoy it.

Ready to play? Let's schedule some lessons together soon.

I couldn't ask for a better teacher. Bennie has the talent and experience to help anyone trying to either learn from scratch or improve their current skill level. Due to the fact that I travel quite a bit with my business I used the holiday season to get a refresher course and Bennie was the right teacher for this. He gave me more in 5 lessons then I could have gotten from anyone else if I had 20 lessons. Unfortunately, I travel a lot for my business and I can't commit to a regular lesson schedule.

Hi, there! My name is David B. and I look forward to meeting you! I've been teaching private lessons since 1993 and have loved helping my students learn music in a way that not only increases their skill and knowledge, but also builds self esteem, allows for creative expression of themselves and creates lifelong music lovers. I went to St. Vincent College and earned a degree in music education, with a voice concentration and studies in piano and organ, in 1998. I'm a positive, helpful person and my teaching style is demanding yet patient. I strive to push students to be their very best, yet am patient while working to overcome the stumbling blocks we all encounter when learning. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

I was hesitant to start piano lessons but David has been amazing. He's an extremely friendly and patient teacher but the thing that has me rank him so highly is the fact that he always celebrated my successes and never berated for not getting as far as we hoped. For me that was important in an instructor. Also he is totally fine with me bringing in music to learn even if it isn't always the best stuff to learn from.
In short David is the kind of teacher that makes each lesson enjoyable and really helps you learn what's important to you. He has 35 years of experience so you can throw just about anything at him and he'll know what you're talking about. I can't recommend him enough if you are looking for a piano teacher in person.

David is an excellent teacher due to his cheerful attitude, his patience, and his ability to identify the issue that is hampering progress. I picked him specifically due to his years of experience and I can confirm that he is extremely knowledgeable in musical theory and good at explaining it as well. The only issue he might have is that he can be a bit talkative although personally I find it endearing. I Would highly recommend him to anyone that learns best through positive reinforcement.

My daughter recently started taking Piano lessons with Mr.Dan. During the first class, Mr.Dan analyzed her level of expertise and interests in music to understand where she stands. Based on that, he suggested a plan for her to learn further. It works well and she is all excited now. We look forward to many future lessons. We highly recommend him.
