I have had a vocal coach before meeting Pam, but she absolutely took it to another level. Pamela does a good job with teaching the mechanics of singing, as she pin points which muscles the body is using and how to use them properly when singing. She has a variety of warm ups and stretches to get your voice and body prepared to perform and is very good and pushing you to become your best. If you are a serious singer and would like to take the knowledge of your craft a step further, I would definitely recommend.

Pamela is a teacher.

Pamela was very patient with my young daughter. She taught her the beginning stages of reading music and her voice became clearer and louder because of the confidence she gained during her sessions. I would recommend Pamela as a singing instructor for any age but she was so patient and encouraging for my young daughter. We loved it.

My goal is to make everyone who comes into my studio a better singer. While I work on providing a solid technique and making sure each person achieves the best sound she/he can produce, I also concentrate on appreciation of music and singing in general.

About Galina
Born in Moldova, lyric soprano Galina S. has emerged as a young artist of remarkable versatility and great vocal beauty.

“Galina possesses a most glorious soprano voice… her contributions to music have always been of the highest caliber, amply demonstrating her vocal and intellectual flexibility and accomplishment… she is a great singer and performer.” (John Shirley-Quirk, International baritone)

Ms. S’s impressive voice and sensitive musicianship has lead to performances in numerous cities in the United States as well as Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Israel, Moldova, and St. Petersburg, Russia. Her repertoire encompasses a vast gamut and includes lieder, chamber music, oratorio, and opera, sung in various languages, including German, French, Italian, Russian, Czech, English, and Spanish.

Galina will be next heard as Amelia in U
n ballo in maschera with Concert Opera Philadelphia, in March 2013. She will also sing the title role in Suor Angelica with OperaOggi NY in 2012/2013 season. Her most recent roles include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (New York Lyric Opera Theater), Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Mimì and Musetta in La Bohème, and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi. Some of the other roles are Violetta in La Traviata, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, the title role in Iolanta, Marfa in Tsar’s Bride, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail.

In oratorio Ms. S. has performed as a soprano soloist in the Lord Nelson Mass and Theresa Mass of Haydn, Handel’s Messiah, J. S. Bach’s Magnificat, and the Neue Liebeslieder, Opus 65 by Brahms. Her recital and chamber repertoire include songs and song cycles by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Dvořak, Manuel de Falla, Poulenc, and Messiaen.

Ms. S. has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships which include Washington International Competition in Washington DC, Center for Contemporary Opera Competition in New York, Giulio Gari Foundation International Vocal Competition in New York, New York Vocal Artists Competition, Peabody Conservatory Graduate Performance Diploma Scholarship and grant, and Mayor’s Scholarship from the University of Pennsylvania where Galina received her undergraduate degrees in music and computer science engineering. Galina has also been chosen to participate in the International Music Competition of the ARD in Munich.

Galina is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music where she received a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance, and University of Pennsylvania, which she finished with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Computer Science Engineering.

Ms. S. is a dedicated and enthusiastic voice teacher, who has been teaching for the past ten years. Many of her students have become soloists in their schools’ musical productions, and several went on to continue their studies at major conservatories. She has taught at Cabrini College, Settlement Music School, and is presently teaching at Leopold Mozart Academy. She also offers lessons out of her private studio at her home.

*** Lesson Details ***
My style of teaching is very straight forward. Students will first learn a proper breathing technique which is essential to good vocal production. The development and progress will greatly depend on students initial level and the time they spend practicing at home.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Steinway Grand Piano, Music Stand, Vocal Literature. Large room with hardwood floors, which provides wonderful acoustics for singing.

*** Travel Equipment ***
The student must have a piano or keyboard. I will bring music books.

Galina has really helped me come far in the past year I had initially started taking lessons with her. With each lesson I can feel my voice getting stronger and clearer and she does a wonderful job at easing me into each exercise. My vocal style differs from hers but the basic techniques she teaches helps me to get stronger and maintain my voice and it also inspires me to push myself further and further. Everything is explained clearly precisely and I highly recommend her for anyone despite what your goals or musical interests may be and she is very flexible with her schedule.

My daughter has been taking Voice lessons from Galina for 3 1/2 years starting when she was 14 yrs old. Since studying with Galina she has grown and improved dramatically. She trusts Galina and knows she has her best interest at heart. Galina is an inspiring, dedicated teacher whose passion and knowledge are incredible. Her life has changed because of Galina's guidance and influence. She has worked with her to not only become a better singer, but an all around better performer. We have been exposed to many amazing performance opportunities which have given her the confidence and experience necessary to excel in her art. I enthusiastically recommend Galina!

I sang in various choirs and also sing for personal songwriting. I teach proper exercises and warm up techniques to help improve tone, pitch, and breathing. I like to also have fun with it and sing contemporary songs based on student interest.

About Matthew
I started playing trumpet in grade school and was in the marching band the first year of high school. I then switched to playing upright bass in the orchestra. This led to me being a part of the jazz band and playing instrumentals for school musicals. Upon graduation time, I received the gold medal for music performance in strings. I was also an AP music theory student. After, I pursued a bachelor's degree in music and took education courses. I have tutored music theory and given instrument lessons, but they were always self employed or from the university.

I wish to help others make music an enjoying part of their lives, as it is in mine.

With foundations in jazz, r&b, classical and musical theater, I am able to help you achieve the sound you want to achieve. I take pride in teaching others and inspiring them to love music and singing the way I have learned to. I believe the essence of music is self-expression and finding meaning in every word and/or note but I also realize the importance of music theory, ear training and the ability to read music as it allows you to understand the music fully and go far beyond what you ever thought you could do.

About Taylor
Singing is truly a science and mostly in the mind. Let me teach you to control your mind so that you can sing the way you've always dreamed to.

Taylor studied music and participated in ensembles throughout her childhood (her award-winning high school show choir was even the subject of the BBC documentary "Gleeful: The Real Show Choirs of America"). This led her to SUNY Fredonia where she studied classical voice and music education before transferring to Berklee College of Music to complete a degree in Professional Music with a concentration in jazz performance. Following graduation, Taylor began teaching private lessons, and has instructed students aged 5 to 65 on piano, voice and trumpet. She has experience working with students on their songwriting, building their repertoire, developing their technique, and most importantly, buildin
g their confidence and their passion. Currently, Taylor performs professionally with a number of groups, perhaps most notably as the front-woman and trumpet player for Jay-Z/Beyonce cover band For the Record, who even earned a spot opening for Salt N’ Pepa at Boston's ThrowABBQ Night. She also leads her own 9-piece jazz/r&b group in which she writes all of the music.
