"I am more confident with my voice now than I have ever been, thanks to Chip. He's very systematic in his methods, focusing on different aspects of one's v
oice, which he uses to combine into something beautiful that you never would have believed would come out of your mouth. His patience and ridiculous analogies have greatly helped me and I thoroughly recommend him to anyone who wants a better, more comfortable singing voice."

"Michael is a wonderful instructor. He was very patient with my 11 year-old daughter. She learned many useful things from correct posture, proper fingering
, how to read the sheet music properly, tone, counting...I could list many more things. He emphasized the importance of warm up exercises, different scales, and then practicing songs in sections and then piecing it all together. I would highly recommend this instructor."

In our lessons, David consistently demonstrated exemplary understanding of complex music theory, but was also able to impart his deep
professional knowledge in a manner accessible to a neophyte such as myself. And further to his credit, he has the patience of a saint when it came to actually implementing difficult theoretical ideas.
David was exacting in his attention to the details of our practice sessions, and was also able to offer techniques to ameliorate my lack of dexterity. He noted that my physiology was likely a culprit and helped me find workable solutions to the problems.
Overall, David was dedicated, always punctual, a real pleasure to work with, and I could not recommend him highly enough to others."
I have taught over 250 private voice students in Boston, CT, New York City, and Lakewood Ranch, FL. I specialize in contemporary styles ranging from musical theater, to pop, to blues, to R&B and beyond. I graduated with a professional music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I performed professionally for 15 years: as a wedding singer, on tour as a backup singer, in a musical at Carnegie Hall, with a big band at the Rainbow Room, at the Bitter End debuting my CD of original music, as a house studio vocalist for a NYC recording studio, and more. I have tons of great references

Carey is currently working with our 9yo daughter. She has built a wonderful rapport, is very patient, and has helped our daughter's interest in music blossom into full fruition. It's truly wonderful to see our daughter having fun doing something she loves, and it takes a special teacher to make that happen with kids. Highly recommend.
Of course you want an experienced, passionate, patient and compassionate teacher! Teaching is not my job; it is my calling and I am very good at it.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education (1987, Ball State University) and a Master of Music degree in Voice (1994, University of South Florida). I've taught in public schools in Sarasota. Currently I am adjunct staff for State College of Florida (formerly Manatee Community College) teaching private voice and piano lessons and music appreciation classes.
My music studio has been serving music students in the Sarasota area since
All are welcome! Lessons are for students of all abilities. Some students come with just the desire to sing or play better for their own pleasure, others come with prior training, some are preparing for an audition and some even wish to make a career in music. Some people have come seeking help with their speaking voice for public speaking. My goal is to help my students meet and exceed their goals and have more life through the joy of music, to help them gain greater appreciation of music and increase their confidence both in music and in life!
*** Lesson Details *** When a student and I first meet I ask the student what her/his hopes, goals, tastes and prior experience are. Then we talk about plans for achieving those hopes and goals.
Most of my students are studying music just because they love music and want to improve for their own benefit. Because of that, while I want students to progress, I am very patient. I understand that some weeks it's harder to find time for practice. I provide instruction and tools for growth, and show how to practice, then the students go home, use them and discover what works best for them.
Vocal lessons are tailored to each individual. Exercises include posture, breathing, diction, projection of the voice, unification of the voice, improvement of tone, range and flexibility. Healthy, beautiful singing is the goal. The confidence that goes along with that is amazing!
CDs with exercises and accompaniments are provided. And students can make CDs of their own performances!
Piano instruction is also tailored to the needs of each individual student. With young beginners I often use the "Faber" method. It has books for music theory, technique, lessons and performance. And students enjoy playing along with the Cd that goes with their pieces.
For older beginners, including adults, I often use the "Bastien, Older Beginner" or "Alfred, Adult Beginner". Both quickly teach melody and chord reading so that students can play more interesting pieces within a month. The lesson materials are supplemented by simple classical pieces or other music the student is interested in.
When a student comes in with prior training I continue with what she/he has been working on and adjust it as necessary. Literature for more advanced students is chosen with their abilities, technical and expressive needs.
*** Studio Equipment *** The studio area is closed off from the rest of the house. There is a small seating area for parents which is separated by a screen from the lesson area. I have a Yamaha CVP-103 digital keyboard with weighted and touch sensitive keys, plus lots of different instrument sounds and beats to make playing and singing more fun. I can also adjust the pitch of songs so that they fit the student's voice. The keyboard is plugged into a Super Scope Cd recorder; a microphone is plugged in as well. This allows me to make recordings of accompaniments and practice exercises, as well as recording students' performances. (See below for photos.)
*** Specialties *** I have been teaching professionally since 1987; I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music. I discover the goals a student has and give them the tools to reach those goals. My teaching style is structured yet highly personalized for the individual. I teach music ranging from Classical to Popular always using the best techniques.

Vocal Training ·
I had a great vocal training sessions with Laura, she is very knowledgeable and fun to work with. I am not a beginner, I got some music education as a child, but never vocal training one on one. Since I have no experience with other vocal instructors, I have no comparison, but it was very good experience for me. Give a try, you won't regret it!

Laura has been the perfect instructor for me. I'm a senior with no musical background since 12 years old. She's kept me interested in learning not only some songs but in reading music and some theory. I highly recommend Laura.
Hello! I've been teaching for over twenty years, both privately and at major institutions, including Berklee College Of Music (Boston), where I taught from 1988-2000. Graduate of Boston Conservatory of Music, my background includes performing professionally, and recording since the age of 17. Originally from Montreal, I've sung pop, jazz and klezmer with established bands throughout the U.S. I've performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, Smithsonian, Blue Note, Newport Jazz Festival, and international concerts in Rome, Berlin, Tel-Aviv and Paris. I've also been lead actress in several Off-B
roadway shows. I love teaching students who enjoy the learning process, and who are motivated to grow. My specialty is pop and musical theater, but I teach rock, blues, jazz, cabaret and classical music with equal ease. Vocal lessons are focused on breathing, warm ups, technique and interpretation of songs. We also work on how to audition. Piano lessons include basic technique, posture, musicality, and appropriate repertoire, be it lyrical, modern, jazz or classical styles. Everyone has the opportunity to perform at student recitals, offered twice per year. My students' interests are paramount - individually-based instruction with Integrity, Experience and Joy.
*** Studio Equipment *** Grand piano Sound system with microphone
*** Specialties *** I teach students from age 7 to adult, all backgrounds and levels. In addition to English, I speak French and Yiddish fluently, as well as some Spanish, Hebrew and German. Students from all countries welcome! Styles: Pop, rock, musical theater, jazz, blues, classical Audition techniques

Betty is a wonderful teacher and very talented. She really cares about her students and wants the best for them. Wonderful for piano and voice.
Hi, my name is Lon. I teach music and write songs for a living. I have travelled around the world playing music in many different cities. I have a wealth of knowledge to share. Being a student myself, I know the power of academics. I am here to bring that power to you with a stuctured lesson plan that is tailored to your needs as a growing musician.

Mr. B is wonderful! I went through two other teachers before him and neither of them taught what I wanted to learn. Mr. B was the only who asked me, " Hey what do YOU want to learn?" I didn't know that was even an option. He is very knowledgeable, talented, and the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet!
David has over 35 years experience coaching people on piano. His clientele has included individuals of all ages and skill levels. In addition to offering the type of traditional piano lessons one might expect, Dave's special talents in the areas of creativity and improvisation along with having the ability to adapt to a student's personality and gear his instructional approach in a unique way have been responsible for his high student retention rate.
Dave has performed professionally for over 35 years so, when you enroll with his services, you can be assured that you've connected with a te
acher who has "been there done that." Where it can often be a challenge in locating that piano instructor who has both extraordinary teaching skills and playing ability, you can rest assured that you've got the complete package in Dave.
Dave welcomes both children and adults of all ages. His extensive experience along with his creativity and sense of humor make him your perfect choice.

Learning piano just doesn't get any easier until you experience David's on line
lessons. I can't say enough about how quickly I learned using Dave's step by step explanations outlined in his videos. The part I like is I am able to stop the video and slide the video slider backwards to replay something I was experiencing trouble with. Ten stars if there is such a rating out there but if not I will give him a five star approval.
