Laura is exactly the kind of teacher I was looking for. She customizes our lessons to my goals and current abilities. She has an amazing ability to make one feel good about progress at the same time she pushes you toward higher levels of performance. I thoroughly enjoy the lessons and practice I have. I highly recommend her for anyone who wants to explore piano or who wants to become a serious performer.

I took piano twice as a youth, and never really got it. I am doing it again at age 60, and am absolutely loving the approach that Laura uses. I find myself totally excited about the process and enthused that I will actually get it this time. I cannot recommend Laura highly enough.

I have done voice lessons twice before, first in Seattle, and second in Phoenix. Laura is BY FAR the best voice instructor of the three. I feel that I am finally "getting my voice". She is incredibly helpful in coaching me to get the proper tone, and to really learn the art of singing.

Nikki L., Sarasota, Florida

Fulfilling a lifelong dream, I started taking piano lessons a year ago with Nikki L. I started from scratch not knowing anything and here I am, a year later, still at it! Because of her teaching skills and ability to measure my progress and competence, I am well into Book 2 of "Adult Piano Adventures." Her firm, but encouraging approach during each lesson has been a positive step for me by offering both praise and criticism when due. More importantly, she keeps me focused in such a way that I actually like to practice! Also, her clear instruction and guidance regarding music theory adds a new dimension to this hobby and offers meaningful insight into the learning process. I strongly recommend Nikki L.for piano instruction for any age group and for any level!

I have seen Ms. Betty's students perform every year. Her students are well
prepared and the presentation is always enjoyable. She picks appropriate repertoire in voice and piano.
Anna P. Port Charlotte, FL

About Anna

I love teaching others to enjoy music! We have fun in our lessons and laugh frequently. I prefer to teach from the Alfred's Basic Piano Library, but will work with what you already have to save money up front. I like to teach music theory and strive for my students to understand theory concepts. I currently teach from my home with an electronic piano. Cozy atmosphere and comfortable couch for parents, siblings, and/or friends. Recommend for students to have access to a keyboard, organ, or piano for practicing throughout the week. If the student wishes, I try to help them play by ear, write their own songs, and play what they enjoy along with their lesson book. We can work on major & minor scales, chords, arpeggios, and rolling broken chords. I'm currently on rotation with ...

Brenda Louise H. Sarasota, FL

About Brenda Louise

Consider the advantages of studying music privately! Here in my Sarasota home, the atmosphere is quieter than having a lesson in a public music business establishment. In a private atmosphere, you, the student and I, your teacher are better able to concentrate and hear one another. A current member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association,) I hold a B. S. in Music from Adelphi University located in Garden City, NY. I've been teaching piano and voice since 2002 to students 5 years old and older. Student recitals are held twice yearly at my home. Students learn music appreciation, music history, genres, artists, and composers from materials here in my music library. Voice students will rehearse periodically with a professional accompanist and perform with a professional ...
