I started formal music training at the age of four and earned a Master's Degree in Flute Performance at New York University. Since 2010, I have been giving music lessons. Most of my students passed and reached the short-term goals or exams I gave them, including NYSSMA, ABRSM, and some of them even got accepted into special high schools. I have my own teaching curriculum and style; I will as well use some special tools to help students improve, and teach some music theory, ear-training, sight-reading, and a lot more techniques in our lessons. But generally, all lessons are customized and catered depends on each student's abilities and goals. We can definitely figure out together the best way to help you or your child to improve. Take lessons with me, not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of music making!

About Yung-Ai Chloe

I hope you will consider me for my passion, expertise and experience in music teaching. I also customize my lessons towards my students' abilities and goals. My greatest satisfaction is from seeing my students improve. I love helping people learn to play music; because music has been a constant

Due to the coronsvirus, I decided to restart the piano I had abandoned as a kid. I am very pleased so far with my lessons. Chloe takes the time to understand my goals and developed a lesson plan customized to my needs. She explains much more than my previous music teacher. She makes learning music much more interesting.

I have been playing the flute for nine years and the piccolo for two and have been in a variety of bands and orchestras. I currently play in Montana Technological University's pep and concert bands and intend to audition for the Butte Symphony Orchestra when they resume rehearsals. In high school, I placed first chair in my school's audition band my Senior year, placed second chair in the audition band my Junior year, participated in the non-audition band, was handpicked by my director to play flute and piccolo for our school's musical, was a marching band section leader for two consecutive years, and occasionally played with the school's orchestra and choir. I find playing music to be incredibly peaceful and relaxing, as well as enjoyable, fun, and exciting! I would love to be able to pass on some of my knowledge to you so that we're able to have fun together! I do best with teaching beginners and intermediate-level students in a patient and goal-oriented environment. During our ...

My daughter wanted some exposure to the instrument so she could continue with it on the side as she has a primary instrument already. John did a great job or arming her with the requisite knowledge to understand how to play. I would recommend him.

"Our son began taking lessons with Gretchen starting the summer of 2016. She was his first flute instructor and we are glad he started out with her. In addition to her just being a great teacher, the opportunities she offers really increase the value of her as an instructor. The idea of learning to critique and be critiqued, performing in front of live audiences through GIFT, and having classes with other known instructors allow the students to improve general musicianship as well as flute playing."

"Matt's a wonderful teacher. He's extremely patient, and takes his time explaining concepts in different ways to help you understand the topic fully. He's also very flexible which really helps those of us with crazy schedules. If you wish, class time can focus on music theory along with the actual playing of the flute which is very valuable (in my opinion). He's given me great tips with regards to embouchure and tone, not to mention with reading music and applying them to my playing. His instruction has really helped me improve my playing overall. I highly recommend Matt."

Sometimes, I feel embarrassed that even with practice, my playing is rough. However, Olivia is very patient-giving specific feedback about how to improve while congratulating me on progress."

"Our son attended a neighborhood concert and was struck with the idea that he’d like to learn to play the flute. We knew absolutely nothing about flutes at that time, but we consider ourselves so, so fortunate that Frannie came to us by recommendation.

Frannie is fun and has a great sense of humor. She is endlessly patient and relaxed, but also firm when she needs to be. She always keeps the music interesting for him – for example, after a period of working hard on the pieces in the Suzuki Method repertoire, she encourages him to mix it up and play some things just for fun, like the popular themes to Star Wars and Harry Potter.

Our son, now 9, has been studying with Frannie for almost a year now, and I cannot believe how much he has grown and improved in such a short amount of time. Frannie inspires him to play his very best; he works hard to emulate her gorgeous tone. He absolutely loves his weekly lessons, he looks forward to her student recitals, and he is motivated to practice every day.

It is a beautiful thing to watch your child fall in love with making music, and we credit this to Frannie. She has our highest recommendation."
