I make singing fun. I start out with exercising the voice through a variety of scales. I teach the breathing method in singing, how to pronounce words correctly through training in diction, how to form the mouth properly to get the best quality sound from the voice, and performance and gesture movements.

I also teach, piano and organ, along with theory

About Udell
I have love and a great passion for music. I have been a musician for over 30 years, I have been a private instructor in piano, organ and voice for 10 years. I have trained and arranged music for several choirs and musicians. I have been music administrator for the church I attend for 12 years. I have instructed children's music classes at The Cleveland Clinic Children's Rehabilitation Hospital. I have toured with choirs, soloist, and musicians in the United States and Canada. I play for weddings and am currently on staff as a musician at a Funeral Home.

I am a graduate of Evans Academy of Music in Buffalo, New York. I have studied music at Cuyahoga Community College.

*** Lesson Details ***
I have great patience in teaching. The piano and organ lessons start with music theory which is studied each lesson. The lessons develop into
learning scales, techniques, developing skills, learning to play songs. The singing lessons start with vocal scales and breathing exercises. Diction, pronunciation, and tone quality are perfected.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio is at a church with separate music rooms for training. Each room has a piano and organ inside and seating is available.

*** Specialties ***
I start with description of notes, meaning of symbols, measures, lines, spaces, learning to read notes, how chords are formed, teach scales and chords, introductory theory, simple sheet music of popular songs. My genres are mainly popular music, jazz, and gospel.

I've been playing and singing music professionally for about 20 years. As a family
man and father of two, I also I earn my living and support my family with music. I have a very student-driven teaching style, work with students of all ages, with focus on helping the student achieve his or her individual goals, small or large. I try to keep the lessons fun but focused at the same time.

I bring a balanced and personalized teaching style to my lessons, based on a well rounded education and wide range of real-world life experience. I have a B.A. in Liberal Arts and have performance experience on many different fronts, from local rock cover bands to Top 40, from acoustic soloist to fronting a nationally touring Metallica tribute.

I come from a musical family - my father is also a pro musician. The biggest thing I've learned as a teacher of guitar, bass and voice is teaching the instrument has only made me a bigger student. The learning process never ends and that is one of the great things about music.

No matter where you are with the instrument - a beginner picking it up for the first time, or a seasoned pro of 10 years that just needs help "putting it together," I believe I can help you to get wherever you want to go.

Regarding availability - make sure to inquire if you don't see a time open that suits you - I am flexible. I perform 4-6 times a week and teach full time. Flex lessons tend to work very well.

About Scott
I've been teaching music lessons now for over 10 years. I have been singing, playing the guitar, and playing piano since I was 7 years old. I went to Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey to study Sacred Music. While there I had the distinct honor of performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem with the New York Philharmonic, The Dresden Philharmonic and the New Jersey Symphony at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center NY, New York as well as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Throughout my time there I also developed my piano proficiency through rigorous ear training and through the learning of theoretical concepts in music.

I then went on to work with Mid-America Productions and the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Through this opportunity I have now sung over a dozen performances of vario
us classical choral masterworks at Carnegie Hall in New York City! "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, Practice, Practice!"

I've been playing guitar in various bands since a very young age and have recently begun work on my first solo studio album. I am the guitarist in the band Tonight Theater. The styles I enjoy include (but are not limited to) Rock, Jazz, Classical, Reggae, Punk, Progressive Rock, Metal, Experimental, Avant Garde, Pop, Funk, Blues, and Jam. I can assist you with chords, scales, rhythm, improvisation, sight reading and rocking! I can also sing in nearly any style and can help you to do the same.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will guide you in becoming a well rounded and proficient musician. I strive to ensure your development of healthy technique and encourage you to practice consistently. My biggest commitment as your music teacher is to your steady forward progress. My lessons are specifically designed to solidify your comprehension and to enable your application of the skills being learned. Your music lessons will typically follow this format:

*Tuning of the instrument (if applicable).
*Ear Training: exercises and techniques to develop your listening and aural skills.
*Review of current assignments, techniques, and music theory concepts.
*Introduction of new concepts, techniques, and exercises.
*Work on current repertoire assignments. Songs are chosen by the student and the teacher and are level/age appropriate.
*Final thoughts on the day's lesson and a quick review of key concepts covered.

I look forward to helping you reach your dreams! No goal is too lofty! :)

*** Studio Equipment ***
There is a living room for parents to wait during the lesson if they'd like. My studio contains amplifiers, an upright grand piano, multiple acoustic and electric guitars, some computer recording equipment, and seating for parents to sit in on the lesson if they'd prefer.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Small Tube Amplifier, Music Stand, Tuner, Picks, Teaching Materials.

*** Specialties ***
I pride myself on my distinct ability as a rock guitar improvisor. Improvisation is at the core of my live performance. If you want to hear a song played the same way over and over again, listen to a recording. Live performance, to me, is about constantly providing new life and breath to the material being played. Each distinct performance captures unique attributes only available for channeling at that one moment and it will never be recreated.

What you learn becomes part of you & that's the key to success. Whether you're beginner, advanced, special needs, have a short term issue, long term issue or even damaged vocal chords, whatever your situation, Fawn can handle it all successfully :) Not just in voice, but also in any difficult musical area including songwriting, performance, recording, piano & more.

In Los Angeles, Fawn is the music and entertainment industry's coach known as the one who "gets the job done." Clients have included Grammy and Oscar winners as well as vocalists and actors from The Voice, American Idol, Disney, America's Got Talent, Nickelodeon, X-Factor an
d many others. She has been producing music and vocals in the recording studio, coaching voice, piano, songwriting, rap writing, performance, studio, jazz, blues, classical, pop and artist development for the past 20 years. She was operatically trained by Juilliard instructor Sylvia Bagley, trained as a jazz singer at world re-known Berklee College of Music, where she won several songwriting awards, and was R & B/Pop trained by Vocal Coach To The Stars, Seth Riggs. In 2010 she had a #6 Billboard hit dance song, which she wrote and sang and 2 top 10 hits in 2016. She has written, recorded and performed songs in several different languages for a variety of films, television shows, and commercials such as Nickelodeon's Hollywood Heights, The Natalee Holloway Story, Spike Lee Productions, Barbie, Ponds, Target, Ford, Mazda, Pontiac, The Guiding Light, The Young and The Restless. MTV and several others. Fawn has also sung, written and played in many different styles from Jazz/Blues to Classical to Pop to children's to Opera.

Fawn is a very fun, yet honest and straight-forward coach. She loves working with adults and children, and considers lessons a 'team effort to reach her students' goals. Being that music and the entertainment business are her career and life, she is current and relevant, yet has plenty of old school training to be well rounded and help students build a strong foundation. Music and the entertainment business are her life, and she loves helping people reach their goals and meet their dreams. She has released 5 albums, several singles, won numerous awards and worked with such talents as Grammy winners Lalah Hathaway and Paula Cole, Meredith Brooks, Vampire Diaries Kat Grahm, BT, Jeff Goldblum, Right Said Fred, Ed Townsend, QD3, Club Nuveau's Val Watson, Robbie Benson and shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Carol Channing, Kevin Sorbo, Pink, Joss Stone, David Guetta, Katy Perry, Moby, Dionne Warwick, James Torme', David Foster, Thelma Houston, David Pomeranz, War and countless others. Over the years, Fawn has been known to bring students into her inner circle, so they can gain more experience and exposure, taking them to red carpets, events and even putting them up onstage to perform. She remembers having piano, voice and songwriting coaches, and being frustrated in voice because instructors were not addressing issues that needed to be addressed. This is why she creates a positive and comfortable, safe environment so students can open up and progress quickly. Fawn moves straight to the heart of the matter and gets whatever needs work figured out, so students can move on to what their goals and dreams are. She has helped actors be able to sing parts for their TV shows, helped popular bands be able to have good stage performances and presence with precision dancing and singing and has helped vocalists find their true voice. Having a strong musical background (20+ years), I was stoked when my boyfriend told me he wanted to improve his piano playing. Let me rephrase that--LEARN how to play piano. He had bought a piano three years earlier and never played it.

He had NO natural musically ability, barely being able to hold a beat let alone understand time and key.

He started lessons in Berkeley for three months and didn't seem to improve, then we found Fawn and signed up for lessons, even though I was skeptical about it being online. Within a month of playing, he was understanding the foundation of music, improv, ect., and Fawn REALLY pushed him. 15 months later he has a solid playing and reading ability, even though his work only allows him 1-2 hours a week of practice. Fawn is teaching both the fundamentals plus improve, scales, etc. that really push him to be a better piano player. She encourages him to chose pieces he loves as well. Soon they will start songwriting. I am thoroughly impressed.

I have been taking voice lessons with Jimmy for the last 5 months. I never had musical training and was not even sure I had a voice ..... but I really wanted to sing and decided to give it a try. Jimmy is very knowledgeable about both physical and mental/emotional aspects of singing. It has been quite a journey..... but now I know that I do indeed have a voice. Of course it was a lot of work - Jimmy always had a homework for me - but It still feels like a miracle.
I am looking forward to further lessons with him so that I can keep learning.

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Dan. I'm a beginner, and Dan quickly and efficiently evaluated by technique and set clear goals for how to improve the fundamentals necessary to move forward, and gave me concise exercises to work on for next time. He also took many notes during our first lesson and seems to really consider each student's individual capabilities and goals. Highly recommended!

Dan is really great for a total beginner, such as myself. I progressed a ton in just five lessons. Highly recommend him.

First lesson! Teacher was methodological: identified goals, assessed my voice, layed out a plan, and gave me homework with clear instructions. This is the way I like to work!

I enjoy teaching pop, folk, and jazz styles of singing. I've had a lot of experience as a singer and musician within many genres of music, but am focused on helping to cultivate comfortable self expression through music.

About Kate
I am a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter who is very interested in teaching younger kids about self expression through music and writing. I have a Bachelor's degree in music performance from the Manhattan School of Music and have been working as a professional musician (within many genres) for a decade.

Kate is fantastic!! She has such a warm, easygoing personality, and I was very comfortable having her in my home. She is extremely knowledgeable about the uke and was able to immediately recognize my strengths and weaknesses. I feel challenged, but not overwhelmed. I had so much fun and can't wait for next week's lesson!

It's fun. It's entertaining. It's informative. I'm Christopher Nanny and I want to teach you to sing what you want to sing! Each lesson plan is tailored to meet the personality of the student. Whether you're pursuing a Grammy award or a pitch-perfect rendition of 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,' I'll listen to your goals and lay out a plan to get you where you want to go. When you take singing lessons from me, you'll grasp the technical, creative, and practical sides of singing and all the while have fun doing so!

About Christopher
Five words that best describe myself. 1. Optimistic 2. Outgoing 3. Forgiving 4. Funny 5. Talented. I am an outgoing musician who for more than 20 years have devoted my life to the training, mentoring and coaching of people of all ages in the world of piano, voice and musical theatre.

As a musician and singer, Chris has performed for Presidents and heads of state, live televised events, athletic venues, Disney Parks, as well as many others. Chris was born and raised in the small rural town of Dinwiddie, Virginia. It was there that he discovered his talent and love of performing for audiences, getting lead roles in musicals and quickly becoming a force to be reckoned in the Central Virginia region. By the time Chris went to college, he had earned the reputation of being a successful pianist, vocal director arranger and performance coach
. His comedic quick wit and ability to relate to all ages made him the go to guy for all things music.

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I can teach students to read music and pursue musical excellence, to learn how to play classical and contemporary music using a variety of sheet music, chord charts and more!

There are so many things I could say about my experience with Christopher Nanny, but the best thing about working with Christopher is the fact that every lesson is catered to the individual student. My lessons were always focused and fun, I left every lesson knowing I was prepared for my next performance. If you are a adult, teenager, or child who wants to receive excellent teaching and coaching, I would highly recommend taking lessons with Christopher Nanny.

Learning to read music can be a daunting task for beginner singers! Here, Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R. shows you how to get started...   Not to point out the obvious, but as singers, we don’t have keys on our instrument.
