About John
Hi! My name is Adam, and I have been teaching for over 4 years now, on a wide range of instruments. I have taught over 100 students over past few years with an emphasis on fun and equipping you with the tools to propell you forward in your musical aspirations!

Rather than focusing on just learning songs, my goal is to teach you the building blocks to music so you can learn songs with or without me! As the saying goes' "give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime" that is kind of my approach to teaching music.

I am excited and ready to help you reach your music goals!

Rick's lessons have been really enjoyable. He starts off with fundamentals, but keeps it fun by helping you learn songs of your choice. When you get further into the lessons the songs start to make more sense and I was able to understand why they sounded how they did. My lessons with Rick have been great and I feel like I've learned a lot.

I'm an operatic soprano and and have an MM in Vocal Performance at the University of Minnesota, with a BM in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. In addition to experience teaching vocal technique, I have experience with English, French, Italian and German diction, and many musical styles. Pop, musical theater, you name it! It's all good. :)

I recently became TEFL-certified and have begun tutoring English as a second language as well. I try to make my lessons as fun as possible, and will organize the lessons according to your wants, needs, experience, and age!

Singing lessons typically start with a short physical and vocal warm-up, and then we move on to repertoire (selected by either myself or the student). As with English lessons, singing lessons are very student-focused--I will do my best
to structure the lessons to work toward the goals we make together!

About Josh
I am a professional singer, pianist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Music, specifically voice.

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano for 16 years, and contemporary keyboard for 7 of those. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

As a professional recording a
rtist I frequently take trips to Nashville for co-writing, recording, and meeting with record labels. I have written with well-known writers like Mia Fieldes from Hillsong, Tony Wood from Provident Label Group, Stu G from Delirious?, and Jon Steingard from Hawk Nelson. I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic songwriters.

My personal passion is contemporary music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

Wonderful first online lesson for my daughter! My daughter had been taking local lessons for a while but had to abandon them due to other commitments. Polina's methods and instruction in the first lesson have already exceeded our expectations. I feel our daughter will start progressing much faster now and start appreciating classical music under Polina's guidance.

Hunter is hands down one of the best teachers I've had the chance to perform and work with over my 20+ years in the drumcorps/marching band realm. The knowledge he possesses is impressive in itself but the way he imparts stands out above all. He has a very special ability to read a situation as well as a student and cater the lesson to ensure the student will get the most of the time allowed. If you want to learn, excel, and achieve a higher understanding of your art then Hunter is the one you want teaching you!

I had the privilege of performing under the direction of Hunter on several occasions. His ensemble work is always rigorous, challenging, exacting, and enough fun to create a good team spirit. He is a great teacher in a one on one setting, and his ability to both diagnose errors and prescribe the right fix is uncanny. He's the perfect combination of serious, knowledgeable, professional, and fun. If I still lived in Nashville, I would be thrilled to study with Hunter.

I have worked and performed with Hunter over the past 10 years, and I can say that he is hands-down one of the absolute best in his field! His extensive knowledge of percussion, music theory, and music pedagogy only supplement his ability to take any student at any level and make them discover a level of potential and success higher than already imagined. He has a tremendous ability to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of any student he teaches, thus offering very thorough instruction.

In short, Mr. Stricklin is a master in music performance, education, composition, and arranging! I highly recommend Hunter Stricklin. He will take your knowledge and abilities to the next level and beyond!

I played piano for 13 years, from ages 5 to 18, and then just stopped when I went away to college. I had aptitude for the instrument but did not have the discipline to sit down and practice. Fast forward 17 years, and I get intimidated just looking at a piano! I realized if I ever wanted to play again I'd have to find an instructor. It was so easy to find Evelyn via Red Pelican Music, and I started classes right away. It was a little frustrating to start from square one, but I know I really had to (I'd forgotten so much!). Evelyn was always encouraging and knew exactly what I needed to hear and learn. She also knew just when to introduce actual classical pieces instead of having me focus on the beginner books with short pieces and music theory. I love working with her and have made so much progress in the <6 months we have been working together. I would highly recommend her to any beginner or to someone re-starting as a beginner. And, of course, she's a highly accomplished pianist, so any skilled pianists looking for instruction would benefit from her teaching.

I have taken lessons here and there throughout my entire life, but never really advanced much further than learning scales. With his enthusiastic and attentive teaching style, Trevor’s guidance helped me to advance really quickly! Before we even started lessons, he asked me to send him music that I liked and wanted to learn how to play, because he said I it would make me want to practice instead of feeling forced. What a great way to get your students to practice! It was so much fun! Trevor had great lesson plans and focused on music theory to truly get me to understand the instrument. Trevor really took the time to invest in me—he even went so far as to go with me to Guitar Center to help me purchase the right piano. His teaching style is straightforward and encouraging. I recommend him all the time to friends looking to learn piano and I recommend him to you, too!!

I used to play piano for 12+ years as a child. Now as an adult, I was nervous to book a lesson as it felt like a rather heavy-lift to start from scratch again. I had tried working with teachers in the past and although they were decent teachers, I never felt motivated to continue my practice/passion. Trevor, on the other hand, made it easy for me to stay committed to my goal of re-learning music; making it fun, enjoyable and something to look forward to on a regular basis. His knowledge of music theory, technique, and communicative teaching style made it effortless for me to dive right back in! Whether you're new to music, trying to re-start, or are looking to become a professional musician, I have no hesitations in recommending Trevor! My love of music has only grown since starting to work with him and I continue to follow this for years to come. Can't thank him enough!
