Hello, my name's Olivia! I'm excited to work with flutists of all levels to achieve their goals, find their voices, and have fun with music. Lessons with me are always individually tailored to each student's needs and objectives, combined with enough structure to excel in their studies.

Our lessons will include detailed help with: breathing, sound quality, note reading, music theory, ear training, improvisation, practice routines, that most elusive "musicality", and more! We'll use a variety of exercises, etudes, and duets to build a solid foundation and help you become the best musician you can be.

As a classical musician, I've been playing for 17 years, studying both American and French styles of orchestral woodwind performance, but I originally got my start playing hymns in church. As a professional freelancer in Milwaukee, WI, I regularly play commercial pop, rock, Americana, jazz, and showtunes both for local productions and on the road.

I begun the musical training at the age of 14 and I graduated at the “Conservatorio di Musica A. Buzzolla” (Italy) in 2013.
I continued the post-graduation studies regarding piccolo with M° Nicola Mazzanti.
In 2017, at the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” I complete the two-years academic course with M° Andrea Oliva.
In 2016 I took part of the orchestra that accompanied Tony Hadley for the "That's life! - a tribute to Frank Sinatra" project (Italy) and the next year I recorded the album “Il desto onironauta” by IZ, jazz/fusion band.
Since the age of 16 I teach flute to children and to adults as well, whether in ono-to-one lesson or in ensambles, considering technique, scale and repertoire.

About Isabella

I'm patiente and I love teach flute. I think scales, arpeggios and long notes are fundamental to be able to face with all of the repertoire.

I base the lessons on what my students want to learn and are interested in. I let my students chose the songs that they want to learn from the books I suggest they purchase. I want my students to have fun while learning to play the flute and learning to read music.

My son began piano lessons with Rachel nearly two years ago and we have been very happy working with her. He has progressed steadily and is continually challenged to improve. She selects musical pieces that fit his personal interests as well as more traditional pieces with increasing complexity. We hope to continue learning with her for many more years to come.

I've been with Micheal for over two years now and he has helped me a ton. He's helped my technique, understanding of theory and the music I'm playing. I have recently started flute and he has given me great guidance on how I can improve and it has help tremendously.
Out of all the private lesson teachers I've had, Micheal is by far the best. I highly recommend him.

Michael is a fantastic teacher. He is very knowledgeable, and is great at explaining techniques in ways that are easy to understand. I notice immediate improvements upon beginning to implement his suggestions, which is exciting and motivating. He is patient and fun to work with. I highly recommend lessons with Michael!

I can’t speak highly enough about Mr. Hudson’s lessons. I’m fairly new to the clarinet, and his passion for the instrument and music as a whole has always been so inspiring to me. He really works to make each lesson a unique experience, and makes sure that we have fun while learning and growing! I’d recommend him to anyone.

"I was fortunate enough to have Jeremy as an instructor in my first year of high school. He helped tremendously with my tone and with my understanding of the flute itself by helping me with harmonics. He provided new warm ups and exercises designed to help me improve in areas in which I was lacking. In time, I went on to be first chair on my high school's marching band and wind ensemble. Years later, I still have notes and exercises from our lessons and use them when I practise. Not only do I recommend Jeremy for the excellent job he does as a flute instructor, but also because he's friendly, great to be around, and really makes you look forward to the next lesson."

"It is with great pleasure for me to recommend Jenny as a flute instructor. I am one of her advanced and more mature students (I didn't want to say old lol! ). I graduated with a BM and have taught elementary music for 37 years. Jenny is creative, intuitive and compassionate. She has a thirst for knowledge and a great passion for teaching! She is always searching for new and innovative ways of teaching musical concepts. I am amazed how she is able to be so expressive in the way that she explains how to play expressively! In the short time that I have been taking lessons from Jenny I have experienced great improvement on all levels of my flute playing. Her “bag of tricks” appear to be endless! In my humble opinion I feel Jenny has all the qualities of a master teacher! I always look forward for my lessons with her!"

"I strongly recommend Katrina King as a flute instructor after taking lessons from her for several years. She not only plays the flute professionally but also obviously loves playing the flute and wants to share that love with her students. Her philosophy is that if a student does not learn a flute technique that it is the teacher's responsibility and she will find a different way to teach the technique until the student learns it. She has high expectations for her students, will push them to grow in their flute playing, while simultaneously working alongside the student to achieve their goals. If I have a question or a problem with regard to a lesson, she will promptly respond by email to my questions. Each lesson I find Katrina fully present, listening for improvements and making encouraging remarks when she hears them, while patiently correcting any mistakes I make and demonstrating how to play that part correctly."

"I found Kelly to be a total professional in teaching. Prompt, educated and well versed in the principals of the flute.
She also was competent in the composition I had requested insight on, the Poulenc Sonata for flute, which is not an easy piece to play.
If you are intermediate to early advanced you will not go wrong or left wanting.
Highly recommend for beginner to early advanced level teaching."

""My daughter started flute lessons with Carter 4 years ago, and it has been an immensely positive experience. Carter is very knowledgeable and professional. He strikes exactly the right balance between encouraging my daughter and challenging her. As a consequence, she has gone from a beginner to a very proficient player in a children's orchestra. Carter also helps his students to enlarge their musical activity by giving concerts, joining ensemble groups and listening to other musicians. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to either beginners or more advanced players.""
