He just left our house, like any other Saturday afternoon for three years now, and every time he leaves, I have the same feeling of putting my son’s musical knowledge in the best hands (ever).
Our son passed this year the Certificate of Merit in Piano with a perfect score, and we thank 100% Mr. Shapovalov for such success.
Mr. Shapovalov is a great pianist, educated, polite, and kind. Our son loves him like he was family, and his performance just gets better and better. It is unbelievable how much he improved working with Mr. Shapovalov.
Mr. Shapovalov organizes recitals, workshops, and pre-tests in order to prepare his students for the Certificate of Merit test. He takes proud in his students’ success and works with our son using multiple approaches, all of them orientated to make the lesson fun and useful, totally aligned with the Certificate of Merit test expectations.
I feel bad it took so long to write a review about this fabulous teacher. I guess I didn’t want to share our “treasure” with anybody else! But seriously: if you are looking for a committed, professional musician, and stellar teacher, all in one person… contact Mr. Shapovalov. Enjoy.

I started taking lessons from Michael about a year and a half ago. I was in a rut and really wanted to pursue a deeper understanding of blues. The lessons we have embarked on have led me to a much deeper understanding of the theory behind what I'm doing. I think one of the biggest things that Michael has helped with is my personal confidence, especially in the arena of improvisation. I would highly recommend Michael for anyone wanting learn guitar, beginner or advanced, in a comprehensive way."
