Jenny is an Ohio based flutist with over 20 years’ experience teaching flute and piccolo. She has 10 years’ experience at the collegiate level. She enjoys teaching at all levels, from beginner through advanced, and has taught a wide range of ages from 8 to 70. From introducing students to the flute and teaching them their first songs as a beginner, to preparing them for auditions, recitals, honor bands, and much more as an advanced player, I love helping students enjoy the process of learning an instrument and being able to see them grow and achieve their goals. I love that each student brings unique strengths to each lesson and I tailor the lesson to the student’s needs and learning styles.

I have played the flute for the past ten years including jazz and pop music, as well as marches and symphonies. As a teacher, it's important to me that students enjoy what they're doing and not only develop a strong foundation of theory but also a love for music. I think there is value in everything musical and I cater my lessons to my students' interests and goals.

I have been playing for 14 years, but am young enough to remember (and still feel!) the struggles of practicing and playing the flute. In addition, having taken 7 years of Music Theory and Ear Training at music conservatories, I can provide a great way for beginners to learn to read music as well as to hear it.
As a Suzuki teacher trained with the SAA, I have studied effective teaching methods that work for students of all ages and levels.
I will incorporate these aspects into your lessons:
-scales/technique
-articulation
-tone
-intonation
-vibrato
-rhythm
-musicality/being inspired
-how to practice/practice methods
Happy flute playing! :)

I have over 14 years of experience in teaching flute and piano to students of all ages and levels. My goal as a flute teacher is to give each student a very well rounded and thorough understanding of the instrument. Lessons will be tailored to each student and will include the following: knowledge of instrument care/maintenance, tone production, technique (scales, etudes, etc), musicality, music theory, and a variety of repertoire from classical to pop.
About Sheila
My interest in music began at the age of seven when I began private instruction in classical piano, and by the age of ten, I began playing the flute. I received my Bachelor of Music with a degree in Music Education from the University of Redlands, where I studied flute with Sara Andon. There, I per

As a professional flutist who is also a professional violinist (and a violinist who is also a flutist), you will receive a unique approach. In addition to using traditional flute method books and standard classical repertoire, I incorporate unique concepts from the string player's approach to their instrument to illustrate breathing and tonal concepts for the flutist.
You will receive a custom designed curriculum to address your specific needs, technical issues and musical goals.
About Jami
I've always had many interests and passions throughout my life and enjoy helping a student explore and develop theirs! Private instruction gives a student the opportunity to have direct interaction with another human being, receive a 'game plan' tailored to their unique learning style and needs, an

Jami was an amazing teacher! She was personable, encouraging and alleviated all my fears and concerns. She understood my busy schedule and was very accommodating. The lessons were more relaxed than I had initially anticipated. It did not take long before I began feeling comfortable handling the violin and bow. Through Jami, I also learned a great deal about the history and construction of the violin, music for the violin and music theory.
Jami taught a mix of Suzuki, scales and multiple technique and method books; all complementing each other on my path to progressing as a violinist. As an adult, it was nice to gradually incorporate more tunes a mature adult would appreciate playing while continuing to build on the basics. After the first few months, I particularly enjoyed learning how to play violin duets with Jami or having Jami accompany me on the piano. I always left my lessons with a feeling of accomplishment.
I only ceased lessons due to Jami relocating, but I am looking forward to online lessons once I am more technologically capable of doing so. You will not be disappointed if choosing Jami as a teacher!

For only short 3 months, I was informed he was outgrown from his old book and was capable for upgrading to next level. I am much happier to find Michelle as his flute instructor. Thanks for helping him become more confident, optimistic and diligent."

My daughter needs a patient and consistent type of teacher, and after a couple of months, Tony and Natalia were working together quite well, as her progress has shown. Of course, Natalia put in the the practice time as well, as she is not quite a musical prodigy, so she has had to work. Tony has supported her all along and been flexible with lessons and time as needed for upcoming events.
My son took saxophone lessons for the last 3 years as well. While quite talented, he doesn't like to work and focus on his music, so he only just almost regional 3 years in a row. That's not really Tony's fault, as he tried to show my son how to get the most out of his practice time, but regardless of talent, music takes work.
I'd gladly give Tony 5 stars for clarinet, as that is his principal instrument, and he is a great clarinetist, but my kids took flute and saxophone from him, which are instruments he doubles on professionally. However, Tony is an honest person, and he would let you know when the time comes for a change to a higher level professional on the secondary instruments. Most students will not ever get there, although it could happen for students planning to make a profession of musical performance."
