Flute Lessons in Oradell. Amazing Teachers.

Experienced teacher with a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music and an undergraduate from Columbia University. I have taught beginning students as young as age 5, middle school, high school, college, and adult students. All ages and levels are welcomed! Lessons are tailored to you, and include technical skill building, a range of repertoire, and foundations of music history and theory. Let's get started!

I am a flautist with over 12 years of experience; performing as a soloist, in an orchestral setting and with jazz ensembles. I hold a Licentiate (LTCL) Diploma (2009) and a Grade 8 Certificate on Flute (2008) from Trinity College London.

I focus on the fundamentals (tone, technique and timing) using my own personalized approach to methods such as long tones, scales/ arpeggios and technical studies. I also allow students to be creative and express themselves through the art of music.

I taught student from 5 to 65 years old. My students are beginner to advanced students. I prepare for NISSMA audition, music college auditions. Many of my students went to music college and became flutist, music teacher in a school and flute teacher.

Hi :) I've been a flutist for well over 10 years and I'm studying to become a professional musician.
I would love teach you how to play this beautiful instrument and help you understand music theory, aural theory, and music history.

I am young, and unset in my ways, which means I am more readily able to adapt to work with different students to best help them succeed, and can utilize more updated methods of teaching. My joy from tutoring is found in the students, when their eyes light up after a period of study with sudden recognition, and everything just clicks for them in that moment. When a student succeeds, I feel I have succeeded. The most prominent teaching method I would display would be a step-by-step motion, with each activity completed to its fullest extent, or until a student feels completely satisfied in their understanding. I am patient and deliberate in my work, and will do my best to assist in any which way possible.

With me students listen and practice their way to being complete musicians. They improvise from the start, quickly gaining confidence that music is their domain and that they can be creative in music, more than expert readers and interpreters.

This creativity, combined with a strong foundation I give in classical technique, can open infinite doors. My students have composed their own music, learned jazz, and explored Irish flute music and the Cuban charanga. Other students have explored Country, Rock, and even Dubstep (not my thing, but I like keeping an open mind).

I encourage lots of exploration and listening, both curated and free, which I then encourage students to share. My studio explores the length and breadth of the world's music, both ancient and modern, for inspiration -- far beyond the basic range of flute repertoire.
