As a professional singer/performer with 15+ years experience, I love infusing a mix of musical concepts and traditional teaching styles with real world experience I've gained from performing over the years. We'll start each lesson with warm ups tailored to not only open up the voice, but practice technique and prepare you for your song. Then, we'll move into your song(s), working on technique and/or any trouble spots and ultimately sculpting the song in a way that also supports more freedom and control in your singing. Whether you're interested in pop, rock, R&B, standards, or Broadway, I love to tailor lessons to meet your needs and to bring out the artist within you!

Shanita was very intuitive about my needs as a singer and even more so as a performer. I came with years of experience as a background singer, but with no confidence as a soloist/solo artist. She recognized my areas for improvement and honed in to work on those areas. Her teaching is truly tailored to the student and her experience as an artist/performer gives me the confidence that I am trusting my talents, and money, with the right person. This is my first lesson, but I feel at home and well taken care of.

From the fundamentals of scales to articulating words to performing, she’s very helpful in different aspects of singing. In each lesson, she keeps a supportive and cheerful mood. At the end of the day, it’s clear that she wants you to improve to the best of your ability.

"This year has been amazing with my son's music progress and I could not thank Eric Jayk more! Sebastian started 2020 just wanting to sing more and we began lessons around March. Sebastian has always kept his singing to just car rides with mom, but now we get a daily household concert that goes on hours and hours. Eric helped Sebastian not only come out of his shell musically but instilled more passion into the statement "I just want to sing" for my son. Eric's teaching and suggestions are not only helpful, but full of musical knowledge, is passion-driven and he truly goes out of his way for his students. He is also superior in helping Sebastian navigate the world of voice changes and helping him grow musically. I could not be happier with the progress made and am super excited to see what the new year brings! 5 stars just doesn't seem to be enough."

She's a lot of fun to be around which makes the lessons even that much more enjoyable. I definitely recommend her as a teacher!"

"i was looking for a singing teacher that could help me get more edge in my voice--more bluesy rock edgy sounds into my singing not medal screaming. i’m talking about bluesy rock grit and rasp like chris cornell.
well, this is one of missy’s specialties and i’m so happy i found her because within the first session missy had me on my way to getting those effects into my voice without strain or pain. plus, just as important she was giving me the confidence i needed to sing with those effects.
also, in our sessions when i sometimes have difficulty with a melody, she’s able to pinpoint the exact note i was needing to fix--plus help me with the entire phasing and improvising with the phasing.
missy tailored my lessons around my specific needs without the extra unnecessary fluff that other singing teachers put singers through, wasting time and money.
listen, missy is amazing vocal teacher and fun to work with. she brings passion, enthusiasm, and most importantly missy is giving me the technique and the confidence to sing again―oh, forgot to mention i stopped singing for over 20 years and only recently had the desire to sing again. i’m glad i found missy."

"I have been taking singing lessons with Madeline for a while now, and I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher! Her personality can make anyone feel welcome. I am very shy but she manages to get me out of my shell. I have definitely felt that my confidence has improved tremendously since I started my lessons. Madeline is also extremely talented, patient, flexible, and helpful. She can very easily explain a concept or a technique by creating an image in your head, which I find immensely useful.

I have recommended her to all my friends that are interested in taking singing lessons and plan on continue to do so, because she really is a great teacher! I am very thankful to her and always look forward to my next lesson 😊"

"I wanted to wait a while before giving Rob a review so that I could be fair and honest about his teaching and my experience. Rob is a kind, dedicated, and patient singing instructor. He understands how to make students feel comfortable with singing, which for me was a really big deal. I'm a 25 year old male and that didn't make him flinch, despite my lack of formal musical training.

Rob's also great about letting his students pick songs that they're actually interested in singing and is encouraging when you're struggling. He understands how to point out strengths and remains optimistic in a way that bolsters your confidence and helps you get over whatever obstacle (mental/physical) that stands in your way. There's no "can't" when working with Rob. Only suggestions on how to be a stronger singer and words of reinforcement.

In my time learning from Rob I feel my vocals have improved pretty dramatically. I can sing without strain, my power, breathing, and general understanding of proper singing technique have improved ten fold. He gives you the tools that you need to continue working on your own (singing exercises, keyboard warmups, stretches, plosives, etc.). I can't say enough good things about the guy.

I would recommend Rob to music lovers of any age that want to learn a new skill. I hope to continue taking lessons from Rob for a long time to come. Thank you for all of your hard work, Rob!"
