I love music, and I love teaching children to play the piano! I teach classical and sacred music. I have played for many special events (weddings/funerals/church worship team). Growing up in a one-income family, I understand the difficulty of finding affordable music lessons. My low price enables families with multiple children to have piano lessons they can afford. I have flexibility to service home-school families during the day. In my piano room, there is a large table where waiting students can quietly play games or do homework. I am approximately two miles from North Lake mall with quick access to I-485 and I-77.

Through the foundation I've gained by the influences of Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, and Suzuki musical instruction methods, I compile my own teaching materials. Using personally constructed guitar lessons, I demonstrate, instruct, and guide the student based on my assessment of their individual needs, skill level, and progress. Lessons are formulated in Modules, and advancement through them is based on the student's personal aptitude, skill level, and practice commitment. Learning is accomplished by ear as well as through essential methods of musical notation (tablature, 5-line staff, rhythmic comprehension). Students are trained to perform written music as well as to write and express the music within themselves.
I'm an encouraging and motivating guitar teacher with a casual relaxed approach. Teaching new guitarists is very rewarding to me. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.
The key to learning guitar......is finding the right instructor! I am an encouraging, effective guitar instructor and an experienced performing musician, offering in-person beginner through intermediate guitar instruction in my home and on line. It is very rewarding to me to help others alon

I have been teaching guitar professionally for 2 years. My approach to students is unique because I cater differently to each student. Because each person is different, I like to build my curriculum around each student's own individual interests. Coming from a performance background and from personal experience, it is extremely important that the student enjoy their lessons and performing their own music. With me, you can expect to learn music theory, sight-reading, guitar technique, and learning your favorite tunes!
I am a professional soloist performer and a music teacher. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelors in Music Performance in classical guitar. I have studied classical guitar since I was 14 years old. While in college, I also studied jazz guitar and arranging. I was a part of both classi

Joan has been a fantastic teacher to our 5 year old son. She is very patient and takes the time to ensure that he is following directions and understanding drumming concepts. She also is flexible with scheduling and kept in constant touch with us if any changes were made to the scheduled practice lessons. We highly recommend Joan to anyone who is looking to take drum lessons from TakeLessons. Thanks Joan!!!"
Many beginning musicians wonder, “Is cello hard to learn?” The process of learning the cello is not difficult, but it’s important to keep in mind that the cello is not an instrument of instant gratification. It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
