My name is Maggie and I'm a piano teacher. I have been teaching private piano lessons for 10 years. I focus on students' fundamental skills such as finger technic, sight reading, and ear training. I also incorporate music theory during the piano lesson so students also understand why the music sounds beautiful. I teach at my home studio, and I can also drive to your place if you have a piano or keyboard. I teach Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Pop. Don't hesitate to contact me if you are looking for a piano teacher, you're welcome to join my studio!

Maggie is a great teacher. My seven-year-old daughter loves her and she learns a lot from her. My daughter had a different piano teacher before. I like Maggie's upbeat way of teaching better than her old teacher. I personally believe the right attitude and energy helps motivate kids to learn. I like that she has different lesson plans and reward system. Just a little something to show my daughter that she's doing a good job.

Trombone is, and should be, FUN. It's my main instrument, and I have 20 years of experience: both my Bachelor's and my Postgraduate Diploma are in Trombone Performance. If you want someone who knows the instrument inside and out, who can help you with intricate technical issues, and who is well acquainted with trombone repertoire and how our instrument is used in different styles and ensembles, I've got the knowledge and the skills -- and I'll do it all in a way that helps you LOVE playing.

About Holly

My 20 years of musical experience taught me that JOY is as important as knowledge and technique. We'll pursue a learning trajectory that suits you and your goals (large or small!), all while providing you with the encouragement to enjoy the process as well as the results. Holly knows how to motivate her students and lays out clear goals and practice routines that her students can easily follow. I can count with one hand the number of days my son took home his trumpet for practice during the past two years. This changed dramatically when he started taking lessons from Holly. He has been practicing trumpet every day since, even during our drive to the Tanglewood concert! Three lessons in, I feel that he has already accomplished more in 15 days than what he has achieved in the past two years in his middle school band. The only regret that I have is that we did not start this sooner!
Antonin
Holly was very encouraging and very enthusiastic for my son's first lesson. We look forward to seeing how far he is able to go under her guidance.

Why It's Never Too Late For Violin Lessons

Take a look as Los Angeles teacher Travis H. dispels the myth and explains why taking music lessons as a later age can actually be beneficial... The age at which a violinist begins playing is an interesting thing. Most of my violinist friends started when they were in elementary school, and just about everyone says that starting at an early age is the right thing to do. The music bug didn’t bite me until I was 16, and …
