Rob is a great violin teacher. He is very competent and knows how to break the steps down to help our 6-year old learn this complex instrument. We are excited to see her learn and grow!

Hello! I'm currently a Masters Student studying Trumpet Performance at Michigan State University where I am studying with Justin Emerich. I have participated in several different ensembles through my studies and have played in and around the metro Atlanta area. I enjoy playing the trumpet as its been able to help me improve as a person and I have learned how to communicate musically with people in ways to which I never knew could be done before. Lessons with me will not only help one's development on the Trumpet but also in musicianship through hands-on experiences musically and realistically.

About Sam

Hi! My name is Sam Lee and I was once a student of the takelessons website too. I moved on to college and was a vocal performance major for a year and then switched to a degree in communications. However, I am still very active in the music field since my job aside from being a student is being a worship leader in Florida for a local church! As a 21 year old its a great privilege to do what I'm passionate about. So for christian artists especially, I’m your guy! I started a musical worship team on campus with all the knowledge that I’ve gained from my teachers about singing, and practicing it together with the team, we got the opportunity to lead worship in front of the whole campus. So I have experience with performing and leading. I love to sing, play guitar, and teach. Whether you are christian or not, I won’t push anything on to you b

ut do my best to practice with you the exact fundamentals and skills you need to find YOUR own voice. We will have a lot of fun and will get to know each other.

Sam is an amazing singer and guitar player in his own right. He is technically brilliant and easily inspires, teaches, and leads others around him. He has helped improve both my guitar playing and my singing so much in so little of a time! Sam is patient, kind, and very constructive in his teaching, meeting his students where they are and helping them improve one step at a time!

About Rachael

Hey there! I’m Rachael and I LOVE teaching music. I have been playing the violin and piano for two decades now and teaching for almost as long. I attended the University of Georgia and earned my Bachelor’s degree in music education in 2011. I have taught general music, middle and high school orchestra, and have most recently focused my attention on teaching private lessons. I really enjoy one on one time with my students. It allows me to figure out the best and most effective way to help YOU! I generally teach from a set curriculum for violin and piano but I am open to incorporating music that you may want to learn. I like to keep my lessons light and fun so expect to hear some bad jokes and share a few laughs. You get out of lessons what you put into them. Practice outside of lessons is a must to keep things rolling along. I hope to conn

ect with you soon!

About Carl

Hello!

If you're reading this, it's because you like music and you are interested in taking lessons... and I think THAT'S GREAT!

Everyone has to begin somewhere. For me, my parents started me on lessons for the Violin when I was four years old. Later I played Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Concert (Upright) Bass, and discovered my chief instruments, the Voice and the Guitar. Because of that foundation, I have already had a life in music, and not just the classical music I was exposed to as a youngster.

I'm an opera singer, I'm a guitarist, and I'm an Audio Engineer. (For those of you who might not know, an Audio Engineer is someone who is trained in the art of recording and recording technology. We know about the SCIENCE of sound itself!) I've got a varied background in many different styles, and what it takes to PERFORM them, and that

's what I can bring to the table as YOUR music teacher. I've been on the opera stage with an orchestra, sung in a jazz band for swanky gala events, and played in dive bars with my rock band.

But please, before we begin, allow me to temper your expectations: Nobody, no matter how talented, reached their musical prime in a day, a week, or even a year. Musical training takes a great deal of discipline, focus, and perseverance.

I'm still working at it, too. =)

Together, we can work to realize YOUR musical goals, one day at a time.

Master of Music, Michigan State University '17
Bachelor of Music, University of Maryland '15

"My daughter is 8 years old and takes piano and violin from Amber. Amber is an amazing teacher! She is kind, listens to my daughter, teaches her the founda

"Stephanie is wonderful. First of all, she is a truly virtuosic player. She plays beautifully. That is hugely important. Never hire a violin teacher wh
o does not make a gorgous sound. She makes a gorgeous sound. Second, she is an amazing TEACHER. She knows how to tailor her approach to the student’s unique learning style and musical tastes. She can take you through a purely classical curriculum, or she can also help you learn to play your favorite pop songs. I have been taking lessons with her for two years and my adult (step)daughter who has Down Syndrome has been studying with her for a little over a year. I have progressed consistently and my stepdaughter has also progressed consistently. Stephanie definitly knows how to collaborate with me to adapt her lessons to my (step)daughter’s special needs. My (step)daughter loves her lessons and Stephanie mixes things up to keep her excited and motivated to practice. Stephanie prepares more in advance for lessons than any instrument teacher I have ever observed. She creates her own teaching aids for each student, personalized to their needs. She has formal Suzuki training both as a learner and teacher, so she knows the Suzuki curriculum, and can use a strictly Suzuki approach for people who want that, but she also knows the scope and sequences of skills so thoroughly that she can guide students without relying on Suzuki if that approach is preferred. She takes a positive approach, helping students to learn to listen to and evaluate their own playing rather than over critiquing. She teaches students to practice effectively, and uses questions to gently guide students to draw appropriate conclusions about what they need to do to improve their playing. She paces lessons well. She does not require perfection before moving on, but also discourages racing through repertoire without developing the target skill represented by the repertoire. She does not waste lesson time. She uses lesson time very efficiently. Her demeanor is warm, calm, mindful, gentle and kind, but firm about holding students to appropriately high expectations. I started wth her as an adult beginner and have loved every minute. I am now an intermediate player... sooner than I expected. She is also very reliable. She does not forget appointments or run late or cancel frequently. The room she teaches in is clean and organized. I really think she is very appropriate for gifted kids, average kids, kids with special needs, and adult beginners both typical and with special needs."

"Shelley was a phenomenal vocal training teacher. She has a sound knowledge of music, and it really translated over the 3-4 months of training I had with h
er. From employing a variety of drills to train different aspects of my voice, to coaching me through ways to expand my range and get comfortable in my own vibe and style, she stands out amongst the crop of musical professionals today.

Shelley was always very professional, respectful of my time, aware of my inhibitions, and just an overal caring person. I highly recommend her to all future potential students."
