I began singing when I was five years old in church. I continued singing exclusively inspirational music until I was a teenager. At that time, in addition to the second soprano part I sang in a five-part harmony
a Capella (without instrumental accompaniment) Gospel group, I also sang in a couple of bands (Rhythm and Blues, and Jazz). My undergraduate studies were completed at the American University, where I majored in Communications (B.A.), and minored in Music, voice being my instrument. Our voice is such a unique instrument, because it is inside of us. It makes the act of singing amazing and hard at the same time, because we all have different instruments and there is no general rule that works for everyone in the same way. When I teach, I always take into consideration the uniqueness of the voice I am working with, and this requires a great deal of attention and sensitivity. I am very passionate about teaching and my goal is to share my passion and my knowledge, in order to acquire the tools to develop that beautiful instrument that our voice is!

Singing lessons with me is unique because I feel like I have been through it all, in the sense of going through many vocal teachers and experimenting with different techniques. After finding my teacher Michael Mayer, I have finally been able to feel free and comfortable in my singing and want to share this knowledge with everyone!
I am highly intuitive and am able to get in tune with the singer and recognize what is needed because I have such a strong vocal technique background as I've spent most of life searching for true vocal technique and so glad to have finally found it! And I must say I'm very passionate about the art of bel canto and therefore feel like I'm lucky to hold the knowledge of some great secrets especially living in Italy for over 16 years where I've been able to become fluent in the language and learn the spirit of bel canto!

I am studying to become a professional classical singer. Through my own training, I have discovered that having an amazing teacher – one who is supportive, caring, and hard working, and who will push you and work with you to be better – is the most important tool an aspiring musician can have. I believe that every student is different, as no person's body is the same, and no vocal instrument is the same. Based on my performance in the Teaching of Singing course at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, I was selected to be a voice teacher to non-Conservatory students at Oberlin College. I have now had several students, two of whom, with my assistance, have just been accepted to prestigious summer programs in classical voice. Though I have only been teaching voice to others for a year now, I have been teaching myself alongside my own teachers through practice and independent work for the past nine years, and I have discovered countless techniques and tricks to help every aspect of singing.

For those of you out there who are unsure about whether lessons are for you, or worried in general about singing in front of other people, I'm here to tell you that not only do I think you can do it, but I think you will end up surprising yourself and your loved ones with the talent that you have.

The goal for every lesson is to make sure you become comfortable with mistakes, comfortable working through the process, and proud of the results you get at the end. This is a lesson with no judgement and no expectations other than for you to be you and give it your best shot. There is no homework due at each lesson and I will always provide the most patient and supporting atmosphere possible.
