I've been playing piano for seven years, I've taken professional lessons myself and I've taken lessons as apart of a class, so I'm experienced with the learning process myself and seeing others go through it. I've created a curriculum with all of these experiences in mind that is sure to set up an excellent foundation for any new student!

About Emani

Hello, I am currently a college student majoring in music education. I've had an interest in music ever since I was in elementary school, playing different instruments, like the viola, guitar and many others. I've stuck to playing piano since my middle school years, which is 7 years.

Margaret was very professional and patient with my 7 year old.

This was my first lesson but she helped me correct the mistakes I was making holding the fiddle and the bow, and she is very encouraging while I am learning to play and still making not so pretty sounds. She made me feel comfortable making mistakes and I was not nervous at all. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.

Zaid is knowledgeable and dedicated instructor. He has taught my daughter for at least two years who had no experience and I feel that she has progressed faster than I think she would have at any typical music place.
The organization, and structure of the lessons are well planned and easy to follow.

"John has helped me take my drumming to the next level. When I started lessons I was fairly new to the drum set and did not know how to read music. Over the past two years he has completely transformed me from a beginner to a gigging musician. John is patient, laid back and very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him to drummers of all skill levels."

"Susan is an amazing instructor! She started out with some beginning material but quickly increased the difficulty as she gauged my experience. She came to my home and we started right away. My 3 month old daughter was asleep in her nursery and didn't make a peep. The convenience of her coming to my home so that I can do something for fun as a new mom is so amazing! I feel like I've known her forever! I'm looking forward to her sending me songs that she thinks will sound good with my voice! I'm so excited for Lesson #2!"

"I cannot say enough great things about Ginni. I started having an interest in piano back in 2008 and stumbled across her profile on the take lessons website. I saw her for a few months and got really busy with my career that I had to take some time off. A few months back I remembered how much I loved taking lessons with her so now I am back to seeing her. The wonderful things about Ginni is that she is very encouraging, she can adapt to any teaching style(sometimes I can be a bit ADD and she tries different ways of teaching until she finds a way in which I am able to retain the information) she is very accommodating, and she makes learning enjoyable which is sometimes difficult to find with instructors. We laugh a lot when i'm in my lessons :) (I like to call the rest symbol a lightning bolt) if you are looking for a great teacher that you can connect with and makes you love learning piano then Ginni is the teacher for you! Happy learning!"

"I have been taking lessons from Michael fora few months now. He starts off from the rudiments, and then adds other topics such as syncopation. He loves to talk about music, so it helps to know something about different genres to follow the conversation. He has definitely put in a lot of years into drums, judging from my interaction with him. Don't be surprised if he suggests that you consider learning a 2nd instrument. I would highly recommend his instruction for a beginning drum student"

Learning how to use a capo can be a lifesaver, especially if you enjoy singing along or if you frequently work with vocalists. For an easy, hands-on way to see how a capo works, try playing a normal C chord. Place your capo on the first fret. Then play the same position you just played - you'll notice it's now half-step higher …
