At my studio, every lesson is specially and uniquely catered to each student. Lessons aren’t prepared with each student's learning style in mind because no two children are alike. There is no “one-size fits all” curriculum! Students will learn to thrive at a steady pace and one that matches their own, while still having their skills molded and stretched!

I have been studying music all of my life and began giving lessons 3-4 years ago. My first lesson was for alto saxophone and then I began to take on piano students. I love to watch my students grow and feel the success of a great performance and also be able to understand that failure is still growth!

By spring 2020, I will have graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education and teacher certification, to go on to obtain my Master's Degree.

David is a great instructor. He can hear what you are doing wrong and tell you how to correct. I am learning Saxophone much faster than I thought possible.

Good first lesson with Dave. He's a great communicator and seemed to understand my level of music experience; he knew the right subjects to linger on, and what information he could skip over, confident that I already knew it. I felt like we were able to cover a lot of ground in 45 short minutes.

I have been teaching violin for 3 years. Due to COVID, I switched to Zoom lessons this year, and it has been surprisingly awesome! Anything I teach in person translates to Zoom, and this makes learning the violin more accessible than ever.

I teach using the Suzuki Method and See Saw exercise books. I love to teach students of any age - adults and kids. For younger students, I recommend a parent be present to help with lesson setup and note-taking. You're welcome to sit in on the whole lesson or just the first and last 5 minutes or so.

Also, I love introducing students to alternative styles of violin. Want to learn how to play in a rock band? I can help! Want to play by ear and jam? We can do that too!

No matter your end goal, we'll work on posture and playing technique to help you achieve a beautiful sound and comfortable playing. We'll also work on basic music theory and note-reading.

I look forward to meeting you!

Maggie gave me violin lessons way back when I was in high school, and when I decided to pick up my violin again as an adult, Maggie was the first person I thought of to call. I don't know where I would be as a student without Maggie's patient, consistent, and thoughtful teaching style. I have ADHD and carry a lot of insecurities from childhood about my ability to stick with an instrument, and Maggie meets me where I am every single time. Maggie listens to my goals with the instrument and tailors lesson plans and teaching styles to my specific needs.

10/10 would lesson again -- especially for students that are daunted by the process of learning an instrument or who will benefit from a compassionate, trauma-informed educator who has experience working with neurodivergent students.

Maggie is an excellent teacher! Super patient and great at breaking things down into parts that are easy to pick up and remember. I'm often a very frustrated learner, but Maggie has been amazing about encouraging at the exact moment it's needed (often before I even fully realise I need it!). Starting to learn violin as an adult was daunting, but something I had wanted to do since I was young, but it hasn't been the impossible task I thought it would be -- and that's definitely due to having engaging instruction that makes learning both challenging and fun!

I am equipped to teach traditional tonal theory in rigorous depth, but also feel that this is not always necessary or wanted, and so I often will teach specific elements of theory that are practical to a given student's musical goals while also giving an idea of the breadth of musical systems that are available.

Martin was very helpful even before I first met him. I spoke with him a number of times and he advised me on which saxophone to get. I am very pleased with the saxophone he suggested.
Overall Martin is friendly and easy to work with. He comes to my house which is very good for me and he is punctual. He listens to what direction I want to go and never pushes to do what I am not interested in. The lessons are at my pace and I never feel any pressure. I am learning quickly and am enjoying the lessons.

"Robert is amazing at what he does. His taste in music is excellent, he loves DJing, and his excitement is infectious. He’s a natural-born leader/teacher and he’s just super fun to work with. The full range of things you can do with a DJ controller can be overwhelming. Robert will save you a lot of time by getting you focused on the essentials. He is detail-oriented, and his feedback is specific and actionable. He’ll point out things that weren’t even on your radar, and you’ll be better for it. Hopefully, you’ll be working with Michael as well. He’s a technical master, has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things funky and fresh, and he’s the nicest guy. I'm very happy to be working with these guys."

One Easy Trick to Convert Guitar Chords to Ukulele Chords | TakeLessons

Are you trying to learn a song on ukulele but can only find guitar chords? I’ve played guitar all my life and have a collection of Gibson and Epiphone Les Pauls. For my birthday a few years ago, my girlfriend bought me an electric Les Paul-style ukulele. I’d never played a uke before -- ever. I had to go online to even find out how to tune the thing! Undaunted, I discovered the standard tuning is from the top string G – C – E – A. The G string is thinner than the C string, sort …
