Great teacher. Very patient and observant. He tells you where your strengths and weaknesses are and develops a plan to assist you in overcoming your weaknesses. My left hand is weak but the more I practice on the assignments the more I become confident in my success.

My son’s first lesson went really well! Mr. Charles was really accommodating - as we were running late and he patiently waited and completed our full first session. My son is already looking to his next lesson.

Mark has been a great teacher for this adult beginner! I take lessons in clawhammer banjo and ukulele with him, and his easy-going nature and skill in identifying ways to improve make it a joyful experience! Highly recommend.

Mr. Sylvester is one of the greatest. He is not just an amazing guitarist, but he is also very kind. He treats people with so much respect. He speaks to me and my mom so nicely. He is very patient. He has a deep knowledge of music and knows how to get the most out of even the least talented people (like me!). He doesn't ever get mad if you make a mistake or forget to bring your music notes. We were so lucky to find Mr. Sylvester.

Mark is a talented musician who plays and teaches multiple stringed instruments. His lessons are always informative and supportive. They are driven by the student’s interest, so anything you want o learn— styles of music, how to do a particular technique, music theory— you can bring to class. And every now and then he organizes a recital— terrifying but great practice!

I started playing guitar in middle school and have been an avid player ever since. I took paid lessons for two years, transitioned to self exploration for another three, and then went back to professional lessons for two more years to hone my craft. I continue to play guitar for leisure on a regular basis, and I write and record Alternative Rock, Hip-Hop, and Pop songs using the skills I've built over the years. If you're interested in beginning to learn how to play the guitar in order to record your own music, begin performing around the city, or just for fun, then I am fully able to provide the curriculum and guidance you should need to start really getting a feel for the guitar. It's a beautiful instrument and I would love to share what I have learned with you!

In my lessons I take more of a psychological approach to things, and so my methods work for just about any age group. My lessons aren’t focused on the boring stuff, like books. They’re focused on getting your foot in the door of playing as quickly and effective as possible. I was self thought, I’ve been through it, and so I know what you need to know to get that foot in. I’ve taken everything I’ve learnt and stripped it down to what I actually needed to know to get to that place; you’re basically learning from my mistakes. So you’re getting what would usually take at least five (5) years to learn, in under a year. So come on, start playing songs in no time.

About Odane

"Jerry's method of teaching is gradual and very informative. He takes the time to listen to what's being said, then analyze the student's needs and sets the pace based upon aptitude.

He asks pertinent and relevant questions to determine the processes to apply that will bring about the best results. Very patient! Great first lesson and good study material."

"Excellent

I started taking classes with Eric in hopes of becoming a better guitar player. The first thing I noticed about Eric was his cool rocker style and his charming smile. Eric is professional, reliable, and patient. One thing I truly appreciate about Eric is he works with you at YOUR pace. I have never seen him show any signs of frustration while teaching me and his flexible schedule has been really good for a full time college student like myself. Overall Eric is a great musician and an even better teacher. I would recommend Eric to any of my friends or family."

"Dave is amazing. My daughter (10) is a beginner guitar player (1 year experience) and having a blast with Dave. Dave is an inspiration. He makes it fun to learn, and custom creates books for her, using music she loves. He is so thoughtful about how to rewrite songs in order to teach the skills and music theory she needs at her level. She loves practicing and looks forward to every class. It's also super convenient that Dave comes to our house, and having an hour long lesson means they can cover a lot of ground. We all love listening to them jam from the other room! Cannot say enough about Dave. He is amazing!!!"
