After Teaching voice for the past few years it's clear that one thing is universal no matter what kind of singer you are: It takes an impressive amount of courage and self awareness to be heard through song. The Voice is one of the highest form of emotional expression, taking the whole body; as the whole body is the instrument. In these lessons we will focus on breath, bring attention to tension, support, and placement of the voice. Giving you the freedom to be heard. I'm excited to work together with you to find your voice.
"The best singers are relaxed in performance. That is they have no extraneous tension. Their muscles are ready to receive the impulse necessary to fulfill action and will ripple with energy."

I work with people in regard to singing lessons since 2004 in both academic settings and private face-to-face instructions. The lesson's plans and general direction that it takes during the course of study substantially depends on the student's interests and preferences. Along with main subjects that motivates students most in taking voice lessons ( such as learning new songs from the contemporary popular repertoire, for instance), I will offer my prospective students basic training in general musicianship; this would enable people to sing, read written music, and understand the very basics of music theory. With such advantages at their hands, my students will be able to expand their singing repertoire and to move, probably, to another styles of music for singing and enjoying it for the sake of people's personal aesthetical development.

Overall, he's a really nice guy with a patient, calm, yet enthusiastic disposition, who is clearly very experienced in music and life in general. I'm an extremely nervous person and it usually takes me a long time to relax around a new person, but he's really chill and I felt pretty comfortable within a few minutes of talking.
I went into my first lesson frankly pretty terrified, and with almost no direction, and I left feeling uplifted with a clear path for pursuing music. The lesson exceeded my expectations by far, I would recommend him to anyone.

I'm a firm believer in having fun while training. This is very important! Along with fun, we must also be able to work hard at perfecting our craft. Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

I am taking singing lessons with Bijan Zelli and I’m pleased with his approach and what I’m learning,
Bijan is very knowledgeable about music and is personable, patient and supportive, qualities I need and respect in a teacher.
When we started, Bijan took the time to ask me what I wanted and did a diagnosis to find the range, upper and lower, that I was capable of singing, to determine my basic knowledge of music and hear how I put over a song. From that he developed his approach with me.
Even in the short (2+ months) time we’ve been working together, I can see improvement in several areas. First, Bijan showed me that to really sing a song and best use my voice, I needed to learn some music basics. Second, he is teaching me how to listen to a song versus hearing it. The result is not just to sing a song, but sing it with the expression and emotion that draws an audience in.
Bottom line: I recommend Bijan Zelli if you want to improve the quality of your singing."

By the end of the lesson my breathing was a lot better , sing on key better and that made me feel good.
Looking forwarded to the next lesson."
