Book NowI love sharing my passion for music through teaching. To me, music should be a conduit of self-expression—it is not merely something we do, but rather who we are. While there are many great players who have perfected the technical elements of their craft, it is the greatest musicians who find a way to speak through their art. I strongly believe that we all have the potential to speak through our music, and that the right teacher can inspire that in a student. I hope I can be that teacher for you.
I work with students on both the craft and creative side of music in an enthusiastic and nurturing environment. This approach is aimed at awakening a student's drive to explore their own musical path both inside and outside the lesson. Within a lesson, we will work on (1) instrumental technique and basic music theory, very important aspects to us as players, and (2) improvisation/composition and having creative musical discussions, which are invaluable to us as creatives. From my experience,

I offer packed sessions that will wear you out with the fun of progress. Parents tell me that I have a wonderful way with there kids and my adult students are blown away by their own progress. I have a number of budding stars that are learning how to play in a band, how to perform as a soloist, or how to combine singing with learning the guitar. I've been performing for 40+ years so I share what I know from an entertainers perspective. My emphasis with you will be on teaching strum/picking techniques, bar chords, chord progressions & the music theory it is based on. I will cover a broad range of playing styles. I teach professionals & beginners.
About Kevin

I began playing piano at 18 years old as a music major at Macomb Community College. I think I was the only one who was thrilled to be playing piano. I quickly advanced through the 3 group classes and then private lessons. I love teaching piano to students of all levels and all ages.
I teach all levels of piano. I currently use the Alfred books for the first 3 levels of books and then we move to the Snell piano repertoire books for the following levels. I also have many fun solo books for students.
