I would like nothing better than to help you discover and develop your voice's greatest potential. Singing embodies many elements including proper tone production, rhythmic accuracy, proper diction and connecting to and sharing the emotional content of a song. It is a personal journey for singers to learn how to integrate all those elements into their own instruments and I will act as your trusted and supportive guide throughout the process. I have a master's degree in classical vocal performance from the renowned Manhattan School of Music and performed with opera companies in New York City. Currently, in New Orleans, I sing with the joyous Shades of Praise interracial gospel choir. I have had the privilege of studying with some of the finest voice teachers, conductors and coaches that America has to offer and I would love to share that combined knowledge with others. I have also had the agonizing and humbling experience of losing and rebuilding my voice after medical difficulties, ...

I've learned so much in a short period of time with Sheila. She is very easy to get a long with and not intimidating despite her distinguished resume. She has helped me immensely with the awareness of my voice and allowed me to explore my instrument in ways I hadn't try before. Sheila is patient and will continue to approach and explain a technique from different angles (with humour!) until it is grasped. Thanks to her I feel more confident and aware when I'm singing. So thank you very very much!

I am very pleased with my first lesson! Yuko's method of instruction made it easy for me to catch on to patterns and to notice similarities to English and other languages. I am excited about how far I can go with her instruction.
Jessica
Yuko is very kind and patient. She is also very knowledgeable and explains everything in such a great way my 13 year old enjoyed her class very much.
Marcellin
My son really loved Yuko who replaced his previous teacher who is no longer with Takelessons. He knows how to play some kids songs already. But after their lesson, there is this an instant motivation to learn deeper.
He is now having learning with Yuko.

"In my lesson with Jamie, we worked on using correct vowel placement to open up my sound. When the lesson was over, the sound changed dramatically. My voice was more open and clear, with a freer production. Jamie made me feel confident in my sound and my technique. I would recommend Jamie to anyone enthusiastic about studying voice!"

"I started with Jeff 3 weeks ago and am very happy with him & lessons. I started playing guitar off & on as a folkie in the 1960's, no lessons - learned by osmosis + a couple of songbooks with chord diagrams, played off & on, (mostly off). I retired in July 2014 (at 71) and promised myself I would really learn to play. He started by asking me to play the chords I knew, and what kinds of music I wanted to play, and started me off with basic strums etc. For me at least it is a good approach. We go at my pace and no pressure - + a lot of talk about life in America etc. Plan to continue with him and highly recommend him. (I'm the old guy in the picture)"

"Jenna is very gifted and instinctive music instructor. She is quick to adapt to the needs at hand. I was trained classically all the way through college, and wanted help in playing by ear. Jenna gave me incredible assistance in this area and opened up the world of improvisation to me! I have also watched her train high school singers to amazing skill levels in the acappella arena. Jenna is incredibly versatile, technology-savvy, and one of the most positive instructors I have ever met!"
