My background is in classical and jazz voice, but I believe I can teach just about any genre of singing. Technic is an integral part of lessons with me!

About Jane
I am a graduate of Lawrence University with a BA in Music (Piano) and German. I've played piano for more than 20 years, but in college performed more with voice. In college as a BA candidate I was able to take a variety of lessons, including classical piano (my major), jazz piano, classical voice, and jazz voice. One of my favorite projects in college included a recital comprised of all the types of music I love playing and learning about such as a solo piano piece, a few piano duets, a piece where I sang and accompanied myself, a vocal jazz small group, and a few others.

Taking lessons with me I can teach you specifics on classical voice or piano and jazz voice or piano, but we can also work on combining them!

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons with me will be laid-back but focused. Each student will receive an individualized curric
ulum based upon their needs/wants from their lessons. Believe me, I've had some bone-dry teachers in the past, and if you're not having fun and liking what you're doing, you're most likely going to forget the lesson you just had. We're going to learn by having fun and doing what I love most!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music room, full-sized live-action keyboard, two chairs and bench, mirror, room for parents wait

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students need to have a piano or a full-sized keyboard on which to practice or have lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Personally I am interested in many different genres of music (classical voice, jazz voice, classical piano, jazz piano, accompanying), and in college I was able to take many different kinds of lessons to fulfill my needs. As a result, I feel very comfortable teaching others about all sorts of different genres of music.

Jane is VERY patient and super fun! Our daughter is a tough cookie, but she absolutely adores Miss Jane and has done her best piano work since starting with her. I highly recommend her! And the ability for lessons to be in the home is just beyond convenient.

We had our first lesson with Jane last night. Lily is a tough cookie, but Jane handled her REALLY well. Also LOVE having the lesson in our home. With our busy schedules, it's nice being able to keep my daughter in lessons but not have to trek her to a school.

We're looking forward to a long relationship with Jane (hopefully)!

Want to sing that Broadway tune, aria, art song or even pop song, but just can't get that note to sound like the pro? Do you have an audition or performance coming up for a competition, scholarship, school, etc? Or maybe you just like to sing. I specialize in helping you find your voice and gain access to parts of your voice you may not even know you have yet. I can also help the more seasoned vocalist improve breath control, placement, diction, performance, etc. Come here to learn how to make the difference between all of the different qualities your voice is capable of. Let me help you find and improve your voice!

About Kimberly
I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and have performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events. I have also played
in numerous pit orchestras for musicals.
I have been in choirs and soloing since I can remember. I have performed and soloed in choirs such as the Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society, CSUS Chamber Choir, the CSUS Women's Choir and more. I have toured to Victoria, Montreal, Ottowa, Oregon and Washington. I have also been in opera productions such as The Magic Flute, Peleas and Melisande and Die Fledermaus (The Bat) with CSUS Opera. I am a recent recipient of the Saturday Club Scholarship, a prestigious award, and have won many competitions (some repeatedly) both vocally and with violin, such as the Tri-County Competition, Young Artist Competitions, and the California Soloist and Ensemble Competitions. Additionally, I have performed musical theater repertoire and have performed as lead in musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and Into the Woods. I have also soloed repeatedly with the Yuba College jazz band and at churches all around.
I have earned my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from CSU Sacramento. I have my Associates Degrees in both Music and Early Childhood Education from Yuba College. Additionally, I have obtained my certificate of completion of training from Music Together, an organization which trains teachers to teach Basic Music Competence (both in tonality and meter), and am currently teaching this curriculum.
I have been teaching music privately for over ten years to all ages, genders and abilities. Additionally, I have taught ages 0-5 years in a preschool setting for 7 years and am extremely familiar with developmentally appropriate practices for both preschool and school age, as I am a site supervisor at a child development center with a preschool and after school program. I have had many adult students as well and encourage adults to enrich their lives with music at any age! Additionally, I have experience teaching parent child classes and am familiar with how to teach to the particular needs of each family and student.
I'm extremely excited and looking forward to growing as a professional, both teaching and performing, in both the areas of violin and voice and to be instrumental in your musical growth too; I can't wait to share my passion with you and to ignite your passion for music too!

*** Lesson Details ***
I have been teaching since 2002 and have loved every minute of it! I teach all ages. I tailor my style of teaching to each student's goals and to what works for you. If you want to learn Taylor Swift music, I won't be giving you arias. On the other hand, if you wish to study classically, I have repertoire appropriate for you. I teach fiddle, classical, orchestral, 20th century and more for violin students and have experience with jazz, classical, musical theater, pop, religious, spiritual, choral, 20th century and more vocally.
For violin students, I use the Suzuki method as a pushing off point, a tried and true method used in many countries across the world, though I have other repertoire including fiddle, orchestra, small ensemble, solo, concertos, Christmas, and more. For vocalist, I start with the book, Adventures in Singing. I also have warm ups and exercises to keep you vocally healthy. I will teach you anything you want to learn! I also teach how to read music, theory and harmony, depending on your interest and tailored to your current skill level.
I am encouraging and knowledgeable. I will meet you at your current level, be that beginner, intermediate, or advanced. My students can look forward to being encouraged and growing through their time with me. I don't have preset ideas about where you should be in 3-6 months, nor do I have a one size fits all teaching style. Instead, I will work with you individually so that you will become the best musician you can be, meet your goals, and increase your enjoyment and appreciation for music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in open space, upright piano, digital piano, music stands, metronome, violins available for rent, music, staff paper and computer

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect my students to provide the instrument with all of it's accessories (ie shoulder rest, rosin, bow and case) along with the appropriate level Suzuki book. I have instruments available for rent. My voice students should bring their own music also. I have a piano in my studio along with music stands. Of course, every student must have a pencil and come ready to have fun learning! :)

*** Specialties ***
Suzuki, solfege, art songs and arias, reading music, fiddle, classical, healthy vocal technique and musical theater. I am very good at working with any age.

Kim can teach you or your child, no matter where you are!

I was 30 when I decided to rekindle my love for the violin. I hadn’t played since before YouTube was invented, and I was skeptical about learning violin online. By the first lesson, Kim had already corrected poor habits I didn’t know I had, just after hearing me play a few scales. She adjusted her teaching style to my personality so seamlessly that I felt I was just getting pointers from a dear violinist friend whose advice is always spot-on. Weekly practice never felt like work, because Kim tailored my assignments to my goals. Before I knew it, I was playing complex concertos I could never do in high school. I started out being able to play just one major scale. Within 10 months, I was in Suzuki Book 4!
I can’t say enough about Kim’s expert teaching skills. During a sight-reading of a very difficult piece, I became so frustrated that I wanted to stop the lesson and try again later. Kim encouraged me until I had gotten all the way through, and pointed out what I could learn from my performance. When I had time to calm down, I realized that Kim can do this for any student; adults, children, and adults whose inner child throws a tantrum when they’re frustrated by a musical challenge. :-)

Teachers like Kim are rare, and worth their weight in gold. I learned so much more than violin fundamentals through my lessons with her. I’m convinced Kim can teach anyone, of any age—even through an online platform.

I've studied voice for over 15 years, and can help you with classical, musical theater, and jazz. I've always felt the need to express myself through song and I love to help others feel comfortable to sing whatever it is that inspires them. Whether you are singing for fun or working toward a professional career in music, I will help you establish and achieve realistic goals that will leave you feeling fulfilled, energized, and confident, all in a safe and comfortable environment.

About Kelley
**My schedule changes weekly, so if you don't see a time that works, please send me a message and we may be able to find something!**

Whether you've never had a voice lesson in your life, are looking for fine tuning, or are just curious, I'd love to help you set and achieve your goals! I've studied classical voice for over 17 years, and started teaching about six years ago. I focus on breath control, relieving body tension and any hindrance to beautiful and free sound, diction, and interpretation. I speak French, some Italian, a little German, and can also help with Czech and Russian diction.

My goal for students is that they develop the healthy, efficient, and reliable ability to express themselves through music in a safe and fun environment. I've studied with some of the finest pedagogues in the world, and am comfortable teaching
students at any stage in their musical development.

***Lesson Details***
For beginners, I like to focus on music fundamentals, including theory and aural skills, and building a solid foundation of breath management. For more advanced students, the focus will be refinement and fine tuning--whether it be working on dramatic interpretation, freeing up the sound and any tension in the body, performance anxiety, or languages. We can work on operatic, song, musical theater, and jazz repertoire, languages and diction, dramatic interpretation, and performance skills.

I believe very strongly in singing repertoire appropriate for your age and level, and will not do anything to compromise your development.

Learning to sing requires a great deal of hard work and commitment. Each lesson, I will leave the student with specific exercises and pieces to practice before the next lesson. New exercises may pose challenges, but that's part of the process! If you are struggling with a particular assignment, please do not hesitate to communicate with me, and I will guide you through it, or find an alternative to help you achieve the same goal.

We are all different, and so have different learning styles. Singing lessons should be therapeutic, gratifying, and above all fun! I don't ever want singing to turn into a chore or something you don't enjoy. This should be fun!

***Travel Equipment***
Student should have either a piano or keyboard. A CD player, mirror, and yoga mat are a plus.

***Skype Equipment***
Computer with high-speed internet. I can supply electronic files for sheet music and accompanied tracks.

***More about me***
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Although I specialize in training for classical voice I am most interested in teaching people to sing with a technique that will serve them well no matter what kind of singing they want to do.

The most important part of any style of singing is how you support your voice to make it easy to sing, which is all about how you use your breath. The vocal training is all about keeping the voice unused.

I will concentrate on two things, breath support and placement, to make your singing efficient. This is not easy, but it is doable, and best of all once you've got it, you've got it.

I sang professionally in German Opera houses for 20 plus years as a leading tenor soloist, doing a good portion of the repertoire for comic, lyric, and dramatic vocal categories.

I have a Bachelor's of Music Education from Western Kentucky University, a
Master of Music Degree from the Eastman School of Music, was a member of the AGMA Opera Artist Program at the Chautauqua Opera, a member of the ...

About John T (Timothy)
The name I am known by is Timothy.
I am excited to start teaching students who want to learn how to sing the right way. No matter what kind of music you want to perform, having great breath support can keep you vocally healthy for your entire life.

I have studied voice myself for over 30 years. As a professional I have performed opera, musicals, operetta and in concert in Europe, primarily in German Opera houses as a lead tenor in every category.

I speak fluent German, I have a good performance knowledge of Italian, French and Latin and have also sung in Russian and Hungarian.

My voice teachers were themselves professional opera singers in the real world and I have learned so much from all of them. I have obviously also sung with some of the best singers in the world in every voice category and understand what it takes to si
ng well.

My ex-wife worked in Musicals as a keyboardist and conductor in Germany and on Broadway with Disney's Beauty and the Beast and also Miss Saigon. I spent a lot of time around this world and have learned a lot about musical singing from them.

Still, the best of them possessed classical training which helped them have long careers.

However, if you want to study for enjoyment and personal development, then I am willing to work with you as well. Love for music, the voice and singing is what binds us, not whether you want to do opera.

However, I would like to encourage those who especially want to study with me for the professional world to work with me. I'm pretty sure I can help you.

I am uncomplicated and fun to work with, but I am nicely honest and will do everything I can to help you have a wonderful experience singing.

Looking forward to working with you!

As a musical theater performer, I perform a wide range of genres from pop-rock to legit-musical theater! No matter if you're singing Adele or Rogers and Hammerstein, it's possible to sing all genres in healthy way so that your instrument keeps getting stronger, without losing the joy for the music. With a background in the Alexander Technique and Linklater, I emphasize a healthy approach to singing. Lessons will be catered to the student's individual goals and needs, but will focus on releasing unnecessary tension and building a strong foundation for the voice.

About Lauren
I'm an actor/musician in NYC, and have taught kids all over the world! I'm available for in-home, online, and in-studio lessons, where I can teach violin, flute, singing, acting, and English. Although I received my BFA in Acting from Boston University's school of theater, I have been making music since I could walk. As a classically trained singer, violinist and flautist, I've been able to incorporate my musical talents with my career as an actress. Once I chose to go to an acting conservatory, I thought I'd need to give up music, but not a day goes by that I'm not playing and singing! I've played a range of professional gigs from churches to rock concerts to musical theater. I even found myself performing in theaters around the country for the broadway national tour of the tony-award winning actor/musician musical, Once! My range of expe
rience helps me cater lessons to you and your specific needs.

While most of my life has been spent performing, I discovered a love for teaching after college. I have been teaching music and theater for 5 years, and two years ago I began teaching ESL to elementary students in Turkey. I fell in love with teaching English, and feel my training in theater and music helps me use different, exciting teaching techniques in our lessons. I am conversational in both Turkish and Spanish as well!

No matter if we're working on music, acting, or English, I'm incredibly committed to my students and want each lesson to be fun and motivational. I'm a patient, supportive teacher, and know that each student is unique and moves at his/her own pace!

Lauren Thomas is an excellent musician with a tremendous amount of patience and a seemingly boundless supply of talents. As a fellow musician who has played professionally alongside Lauren, I have witnessed first hand her skilled mastery of both the flute and the violin -- as intuitive as she is technically proficient. Apart from her musical abilities, she's kind, fun and sensitive and would make for either a great beginner violin teacher or as an instructor for someone with intermediate skills looking to expand their abilities. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Whether you're seeking instruction in the flute or the violin, Lauren's the woman for the job.
