I use vocalizes to teach change in the voice and also different types of music to attain a better sound. I try to make it as physical as possible since so much of the effort depends on the brain. I want to help each student achieve their goal. Together we can get to that sound which is uniquely you.

Experienced teacher of 20+ years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate piano student! All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, and more. Let's get started!

For beginners, I highly recommend starting with a 30-minute lesson. Intermediate and advanced should consider 45-minute lessons. 60-min lessons are available but are only recommended on a case-by-case basis. Please take into consideration your student's current skill level when deciding on the lesson length.

I have been playing the violin for over 18 years and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education in 2016. My instrumental emphasis in college was the violin. I am a professional violin player and have played in youth, college, and church orchestras, string ensembles, string groups, musicals, plays, choirs, and weddings. I have extensive knowledge and a teaching and performance background to give my students all of the knowledge they will need in learning the violin. The violin is one of the hardest instruments in the world to learn and takes years to master. With the right teacher and the right motivation, the student will be able to master this incredible and amazing instrument.

Three lesson in an William has exceeded my expectations.

William is a kind talented person and has not only been extremely patience but his teaching method is making sure I understand what I have to do in order to be successful at learning the guitar.

He has been extremely helpful in providing me with great options in selecting a guitar. Not only did he make great suggestions on what I should purchase but made sure the instrument was in top form by giving it the once over after I made the purchase. William's ability to provide helpful information and the his willingness to share his expertise has gone above an beyond my expectations.

I am looking forward to my future lessons and learning the correct way to learn how to play the guitar.

Thanks William!

"I worked with Jen for just over a year and I have to say, not only did I learn a lot about music theory and breathing, but I gained such a great mentor and friend. I left Pittsburgh when I graduated and Jen is still there willing to answer questions about anything related to singing. In the year that I worked with her I: performed in three studio performances, auditioned and got the part of Mary Sunshine in my college's production of Chicago, and made it to the semi-finals of the Classical Singer's Competition. Without Jen, I wouldn't have been able to do any of that. I am more confident than ever and I'm still singing!"

Violin Tips: Developing Your Bow Hand

Before you can get to the double-stops and harmonics, you'll need to learn how to develop your bow hand. Without this foundation, other techniques may be compromised. Read on for a tutorial and bowing exercise from Portland, OR violin teacher Greg A... It can be mesmerizing to watch the fingers of a fiddler run up and down and across the strings, fast as lightning.
