I can teach you to sing many styles, all with using proper vocal technique.

About Vanessa
As a vocal teacher I focus on the correct method to singing that helps keep your voice beautiful and healthy.
I earned my bachelors degree in music education with an emphasis in vocals. I learned music appreciation, theory, history, choral singing and classical voice training.
I love music and cannot picture life without it. Music is an expression of life! I also love to teach music to others as I feel I'm passing on a great gift.

*** Lesson Details ***
As a teacher I fall somewhere in between strict and laid back. For instance, if you don't practice I won't scold you, but I will remind you that you can only be as good as you work to be. If you don't want to put in the effort you will waste your time and money, as well as not receive the results that you were desiring.
Our lessons will consist of many vocal exercises, go
od posture, and breathing techniques. One rule that I have is that I don't move you on to another song until you have successfully learned all you can from the first one you try. There is no point in learning another song when you have only learned the first one at a mediocre level.
If you are serious about becoming a better singer/musician you will enjoy our lessons.
I encourage my students to strive for excellence and will do all I can to draw that out of you.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide the tools to learn theory, songs to choose from and I do have my own portable keyboard. Students would need to have a tape or digital recorder to record their lessons and a positive attitude.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical voice, and vocal training, (learning how to use your voice properly).

Vanessa deserves more than I could describe:
She is such a sweet teacher who feels easy to teach you at the right level. With great understanding, warm passion, and sufficient knowledge, she’s just made me more and more confident!
I enjoyed every lesson she gave. Time went by without knowing since I was absolutely attracted by her every instruction and demonstration! I’m probably the oldest student, over 70, a total beginner,. Yet, this is no problem to her at all!
Vanessa makes me think of the popular saying: “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. “
Dear teacher Vanessa has certainly inspired me a great deal!

Very lucky and blessed to have found Judy. She's a gem for students hungry to learn Black gospel piano. Had 1st lesson today. Assessed my playing and sight reading ability, and we went straight to business on learning chord / music theory, and my strong desire to play church piano. She also showed me how to "gospelize" a few songs, for starting out. Not only did I feel comfortable and @ ease with her, but she teaches music theory in layman terms. Looking forward to more future lessons with Judy! Go to her if you truly want to learn gospel piano!

Jan is a fun and dynamic instructor whose patience and attention to the needs of her students has been instrumental in helping my daughter enjoy and thrive in her voice and piano lessons. While some instructors, in our experience, have been excellent musicians but poor teachers, Jan's style and flexibility make her an ideal person for passing on her knowledge to students, so that they in turn develop their own musical talents and shine. My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Gina since the beginning of 2013. In her opinion, Gina is a great teacher! She makes each lesson vocally entertaining as well educational. Whether it's tackling a newer pop song with a range lower than your own or a song from an operetta that requires not only a large upper register but also the classical singing characteristics , Gina has the talent and technique to help you achieve your goals!

Stephanie is patient beyond belief, but also incredibly driven and focused in her teaching technique. My range has expanded, my tone has become warmer, and I'm an all around better musician with her as my teacher. I am an experienced teacher, performer and recording artist with over 20 years of experience. I am also a faculty member at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary music where I have taught Vocal Performance, Vocal Technique for the Contemporary Vocalist, Ear Training, Vocal Musicianship, Jazz Repertoire, Improvisation, and Solfeggio (moveable DO).
Voice-body-mind-spirit - it all flows in harmony during a solid performance. No two people are alike, or have the same experience, goals or hang-ups. I tailor my teaching approach to each individual student, depending on your musical background, prior training, emotional issues we may need to address. Fear often threatens to close us off from what we truly want to express. But with solid technique and a fun, nurturing environment to work in, we can get your voice to the level that you want it to be.

About Elisabeth
Learning to sing is a journey of discovery. It is my task to help you become who you truly are, and excellent vocal technique helps you express that. Discover your voice in a fun, professional and nurturing environment that will help you reach a vocal depth that is inspiring and satisfying.

I am a professional vocalist, songwriter and voice teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. Because I am active as a touring musician I constantly strive for improving my own abilities and adjust them to the needs of the road. My touring and recording has immensely benefitted my teaching, because I continue to have real-life experience as an active musician. I know what it takes.
I have been a faculty member at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City for over 15 years. I've been fortunate to teach Private voice l
essons there as well as Ear Training, Vocal Performance, Vocal Musicianship, and Senior Seminar.
As a touring jazz vocalist I have performed all over the world, from Japan to Egypt, Germany, Mexico, USA and Canada. Most of my touring happens in Europe. While there I teach online lessons only.
As a band leader I have released 12 CDs throughout the years. I also owned and ran my own recording studio for 15 years, until the Real Estate monster snatched it up.
I enjoy going deep into vocal technique with my students, exploring what it is that holds them back from reaching that next level, releasing fear and physical tension, balancing and strengthening the voice. Vocal improvisation is another subject I love, be it free improv or specific jazz scat singing over chord changes. Helping vocalists of all levels become better singers and deepen their musicianship skills is a big and wonderful part of what I get to do.

I didn't take actual "lessons" from Mr. Bates--I was a member of a church choir he directed. He knew his stuff. He helped us produce tones correctly for best quality; I became a better singer under his instruction. He was patient with members who needed help with learning their parts, always willing to repeat a section until it was solid. He was fun, with a great sense of humor and fun. He also made profound comments on the lyrics, which made a difference in the depth of our singing. I'm so glad I had this experience!
