Book NowHow do you learn to write songs? What are the nuts and bolts of songwriting? Isn't it all just passion and self expression? No. There are tricks to learn, mistakes to avoid, and processes to develop that make songwriting more easy and fun.
I've been a teacher and record producer for over 15 years, not to mention a singer/songwriter and sideman. Over the years, I've studied songwriting to learn what makes a great song work and now I'd like to share that with you. Focusing more on the songs than the beats or the singing, I'll help you develop airtight songs that stand up to scrutiny and can be played anywhere, anytime in any format.

I teach students of all ages and specialize in violin and viola lessons. The foundation of my teaching is based on technique, which I believe with dedicated practice develops into individuals' musical style and musicianship. I also believe that music has no boundaries and every musician deserves to explore a diverse repertoire of music genres. My students are given the opportunity to dabble in several genres of music including classical, jazz, fiddle, and pop.

Obviously, lessons changed to remote only in March 2020, but Brittany was still effective despite the lack of in person attention. We can hear how far our daughter has progressed on the violin in the last year, and Brittany’s patience and passion for music come through in how she cares for her students and their progress. There are of course days she doesn’t necessary feel like doing her lesson, but every single time that she goes into it feeling that way, she has come out of the meeting with a big smile on her face.
If our son decides to learn violin or viola when he goes into middle school next year, it won’t be a question about who we will ask to help on his journey, and Brittany will have another student.

Writing a catchy song that delivers a strong message can be quite difficult. Here, voice teacher Emmanuel N. shares the songwriting tips you can glean from several famous singers... When it comes to lyric-writing and songwriting, nobody can really teach you how to do it – it’s better to show by example. Whether you’re simply writing lyrics to a song you will one day sing (or someone else will sing for you) or you’re songwriting to a musical piece you found or created, …
