Here's a little about me: I play sax for the band Fungus Amungus. I also play sax/piano in several bands in Hilton Head. I have previously been band/chorus director at Battery Creek, EP High, St Raphael Academy and a lot of schools in MA. I play piano, sax, drums, trumpet and other instruments... I have performed on stage with members of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers, and I have opened for Violent Femmes, Spin Doctors, Rusted Root, Michael Franti and many more...

Do you want to learn the ins and outs of singing? Let me guide you from whatever level of experience you have. Everyone should be able to enjoy singing whether it's karaoke in your living room or car, OR performing onstage in a show or musical!

A voice is as unique as a thumbprint! You will learn how to use your voice in a healthful way to bring out your own beautiful, vibrant sound. We explore pieces that according to interest and appropriate to your level of development across genres (folk, musical theater, pop/rock, Disney, classical, Christian, and more). We develop music literacy and basic keyboard skills to give so you can learn music independently. We also learn about audition and performance etiquette, acting, and stage movement for singers doing theatrical work.

Our ultimate goal as a singer is communication, and developing a healthy technique enables us to express freely! Whether you're singing on the stage professionally, or in front of friends and family, the goal is still the same- to sing your very best- and the tools we will build together will last a lifetime!

My mission is to help students reach their fullest potential as singers and to build their confidence in the process. Lessons focus on each student as an individual and can encompass anything from vocal technique and song repertoire to audition coaching and even recording sessions to help the students with a project or to help them simply hear the subtleties in their voice more clearly as they train and grow.

*I teach breath support in a way most teachers do not. I help students gain strong abdominal muscles and teach them how to use them to sing with more power and control. Rather than releasing the belly (as most teachers recommend) I show students how to breathe into their backs and use all three lobes of the lungs (upper, middle, lower).
