I teach the trumpet from the perspective of a professional performer. I have been academically trained, but my teaching breaks from traditional academic norms. I have experience performing in almost every style of music that involves the trumpet. I use that experience to help you learn to play the music you want to play, the way you want to play it. We approach the lessons this way whether you are interested in jazz, classical, pop, R&B, salsa, or tejano. You name it, I can get you there.

About Eddie

Eddie has a unique teaching style that helps you learn how to teach yourself. He teaches a learning philosophy he calls The Art of Accumulative Practicing. When done correctly, Eddie's methods will make every minute of your practice time count towards your progress. If you practice ten minutes, the

Mr. Lewis has extensive knowledge in both classical and jazz disciplines. His extensive study and performance in both genres on the horn offer invaluable knowledge to cater to his students. I think the defining factor of Mr. Lewis is that he will guide his student to where the STUDENT wants to go. He will always work towards the STUDENT'S goals, the STUDENT'S sound, and the STUDENT'S aspirations. He never makes the lessons about himself, or sounding like him. He makes lessons personal and STUDENT-GUIDED. And with his endless vault of knowledge, there is no limit to how far he can take a student.

Mr. Lewis remains professional but can also develop sympathetic, personal relationships with his students. He is always organized and EVERY bit of work that he does for his students remains on the top of his priority list on his computer. His organization makes every lesson expedient and effortless. He remains to be the most caring and thoughtful teacher and human that I have met.

I have had multiple trumpet teachers in the past, but no one I have studied from amounts to a fraction of what Mr. Lewis is. Mr. Lewis isn't just a great trumpet teacher, or classical teacher, or even jazz teacher. He embodies the role as a mentor and guide through the study of expression through the medium of music, and has helped me become a more mature individual.

My name is Justin, and I've been tutored by Paul since October 2018. I came to him without any prior music experience and unsure if I could ever learn to play the guitar. I'm glad that I chose him as my tutor. He knows how to explain different concepts in a way that I can understand. That coupled with his eagerness for me to get better makes him an excellent teacher. Every time I attend his class I'm always motivated to improve. I would definitely recommend him to anyone trying to play an instrument.

My son's first lesson with Paul went well. My son has ADHD and keeping his attention takes work. Even though my son had a meltdown during his lesson, Paul showed patience and continued to encourage him. After my son's first lesson, he was excited and told us how much he enjoyed drums.

"Winslow is an excellent teacher and I feel fortunate to be learning from him. He is a harmonica master, both in his playing and in his in deep knowledge of the mechanics of the harp and how to play it. He has literally written books on learning to play (Harmonica for Dummies, Blues Harmonica for Dummies).
What I like about our lessons is that he's a great listener. He can hear where I need work and he offers not just one but often several exercises and riffs that address the issue. In addition, he knows the blues, the players, the songs, and the harp riffs for reference. To top it off his manner is light and warm. I feel honored to be learning from him."

"Patient, Supportive, and Encouraging.

It was what I was looking for when looking for a coach. Although, I wasn't trying to be the next American Idol, I did want to not butcher anymore of the songs I love to sing. I had taken singing lessons in the past and was hesitant with this experience, the issue was my instructors wanted me to learn what they wanted to teach and honestly didn't make for the best experience.

Albino made this experience different, our first few lessons were focused on learning some basics skills and drills. We explored what songs might be suitable to start off with given my range and where I was and started to practice and practice and practice, until i felt comfortable. The more comfortable I became and the better I became with my drills, the more options we explored, the more of the songs I wanted to really sing started to come into conversation and I felt as though I was and continue to make progress.

Albino has never made this about himself. He has never pushed his own style on me and I can really appreciate that. He genuinely enjoys helping you achieve something you never thought you could or were nervous of doing. He pushes you just enough that you feel challenged and want to continue doing it.

I've come so far in such a short period of time and I have him to thank. This is the man you want to be coached by if you're looking to be pushed in the right direction without feeling like there is only one way to get to where you want to be."

"My daughter has had the pleasure of learning from Mrs. Katz for the last 4 months. My daughter sings a style of music different from Mrs. Katz's usual, but we decided to give this a try because my daughter was having some trouble with her range and producing a good sound in the higher octaves. Mrs. Katz understood our needs immediately and started working each week to improve my daughter's range. She started from the basics, improving my daughter's breathing technique befor moving onto scales and other exercises. She is very kind and soft-spoken, as well as technically versed; she explained to us, anatomically, how sound is produced and resonates. Just recently, my daughter placed very highly in a national music competition, most definitely thanks to Mrs. Katz's lessons. Thank you!"
